  7. Hi I have a Cayin vp100i (my first tube amp) which uses the following tube configuration: Four KT88/6550s are used for class AB1 P.P amplification. Two 6SL7s and two 6SN7s are used in the preamplifier. One 6SN7 uses as regulator. I've been ordering tubes to roll with, however I don't understand the workings of the 6sn7 voltage regulator tube. From the reading I've done, standard preamp tubes are different from regulator tubes which are filled with gases and aren't heated to emit electrons. I've had a good look at all three 6SN7 tubes in the amp, and they all look identical. When I power it up, all three 6SN7 have filaments that glow red. My question is; Can I just drop in something like a Tung-Sol 6SN7GTB or Shuguang Black Treasure CV181-z without any worries about my amp blowing up. I've emailed Cayin, but there's been no reply for a few days now. Does anyone know more about this topic or this amp, and can point me in the right direction? The manual wasn't much help, but here's the layout of the amp.

  11. http://www.stereo.net.au/news/cayins-feature-packed-cs-55a-integrated-amplifier Hi Everyone, I am looking for an integrated amplifier with a phone stage and headphone. I am not necessarily after a tube amp but it will look good with my old radiogram cabinet. My first use for the amp will be using it as a pre amp with a Sanders ESL power amp and some Martin Logan's Montis. The next use for it will be as an integrated amp for watching TV and playing music from the network with a set of Audio Physic Yara monitors. The final use for it will be a second setup with an entry level turntable driving a pair of Audio Physics Tempo speakers. The unit having a DAC isn't a must have but quite a "nice to have" since I already have a good quality DAC. I am after a unit that I can move around until I have everything complete to create a second setup for easy listening and background music for the living room. This unit ticks many boxes and desires but I am not familiar with the brand or tube amplifiers and like to hear your opinion.
