  6. Item: Canon EOS 1300D / EF-S 18-55 III Kit - Brand New Location: Sydney - Northern Beaches Price: $400 ------> Price dropped to $350 Item Condition: Brand New. Bought 28 April from Ted's Cameras in Sydney. Reason for selling: Not needed Payment Method: Pickup - Cash Extra Info: Brand new kit bought today from Ted's Sydney store. This was purchased in order to qualify for another offer. Not needed as I have another body and will not used. I opened the box and took the pictures that you can see. The camera has not been removed from the box and all the accessories including lens are still sealed. As you can see from the receipt, price paid for this was $549 earlier today. The cheapest Canon authorised shop I could find was $534 (DCW - See here: http://www.digitalcamerawarehouse.com.au/prod13630.htm) or you can get a grey import, with no warranty or GST invoice for about $438 on ebay. With that in mind I believe $400 is more than a fair price given it is brand new and locally sourced. I would prefer local pickup but happy to pay postage if anyone interstate is interested. Shipping will be at the buyer's cost. Please PM me if you have any questions. Pictures:

  13. So I went a little crazy and decided to go and watch some cricket. In India. In December. Since I have a good (enough for me) camera - the EOS 700D with a Canon 15-85 lens as my main use and a 70-300 long one, I was wondering whether to go for a little extra focal length. Cricket is a game played at distance, of course, so I was wondering if an extender is a good way to go. I believe the 1.4x extender drops the f-stop by 1; the 2x by 2, I assume? I kind of figure that as long as it is not monsoon the light in India will not be a problem and the Canon is pretty good at higher ISO anyway, so the loss of a stop or two should be neither here nor there. Or maybe you know differently? Quality - there is always a price to pay. Anyone used them and found extenders to really lower IQ? (Obviously not mine, it is difficult getting that much lower). Would I be better off buying a longer lens and leaving the 70-300 at home? Any hints, advice on pros or cons or general thoughts gratefully received.
  14. Item: Canon EF 100mm F2.8 L Macro IS USMLocation: Adelaide (SA)Price: $750 ($20 shipping Australia wide) RRP is AUD $1150Item Condition: Mint (Like new) (Original box and accessories)Reason for selling: NLRPayment Method: Shipping or Pickup - Paypal, Bank Transfer, Cash. Extra Info: Comes with all original packaging and accessories. Beautiful lens, exceptional image quality. I've put the UV filter on it since new and it has only been used a handful of time. It has remained unused since I no longer have the time for macro work. Initially I was using it for my macro/portrait as the sharpness/colour of the lens is incredible. But I have since bought the Canon 70-200 F2.8L IS Mk II for portraiture and I dont have as much time as before to do macro shots. So rather it go to someone else to get used properly. Can take picture of actual lens, but it looks pretty much brand new. Picture:
  15. Item: Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens Location: 3130 (AH) or 3006 (BH) VIC Price: $300 + Shipping Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: No longer have a Canon camera body Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, direct deposit Extra Info: This lens has been used a hand full of times before I sold my Canon body and moved to Micro 4/3 system. Its a great lens. The f1.4 aperture gives a lovely depth of field and bokeh. Very well reviewed and takes lovely pictures. Excellent standard lens on a full frame body. On the cropped bodies, makes an excellent portrait lens. Comes with original box for both the lens and the genuine Canon hood. Pictures:
  16. Item: Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM Lens Location: 3130 (AH) or 3006 (BH) VIC Price: $400 + Shipping Item Condition: Very good Reason for selling: No longer have a Canon camera body Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, direct deposit Extra Info: This is a lovely lens. Nice focal range for full frame and cropped Canon bodies. Very good in low light with a nice smooth bokeh. I do not have the original box. Comes with a UV filter and a felt lined hood cover. There is a crack in the hood cover, but does not impact from use as it still holds tight around the lens. Pictures:
  17. Item: Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens Location: 3130 (AH) or 3006 (BH) VIC Price: $550 + Shipping Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: No longer have a EF-S compatible camera body Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, direct deposit Extra Info: This lens has been used sparingly. Only on my 40D which I sold recently and that had less then 10,000 actuations. Comes with a Hoya 77mm Pro 1D UV filter which as been on this lens since day one. This lens has never been abused or exposed to any extreme conditions. A fantastic zoom for EF-S mounts with f2.8 all through the zoom range and Image Stabalizer, which makes those low light shots possible. Photos are sharp and has a nice bokeh. Although not an L name, is one of the best EF-S lens available. I’m selling as I’ve sold my EF-S body. Comes with full packaging. Pictures:

  19. Item: FS Sigma 35mm F1.4 Art series lens - canon mount Location: Melbourne Price: $600 plus shipping Item Condition: Mint as new Reason for selling: Kicking into renovations and de cluttering... Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, bank deposit Extra Info: this is a very well known lens in the Sigma 35mm F1.4 Art series, its an ideal walk around general use lens on a full frame body and equates to the 50mm focal length on a crop camera, so quite versatile in use. In build and quality it is pretty hard to beat, it undercuts the majors, canon, nikon, sony and even the carl zeiss distagon and yet somehow outperforms them for quality ! as per the review quoted below from dpreview. It comes here in mint condition as you would buy from the shop. The original receipt of purchase from digital camera warehouse is included so you can see this was locally purchased Sigma australian stock and will be full supported by them and not some internet bought grey import. Please ask me for a quote if need to ship, I expect around the $20 mark around australia including insurance and proof of delivery. If in melbourne ofcourse most welcome to come check the item out and pay cash on pick up can check the sigma site for more info http://www.sigma-global.com/en/lenses/cas/product/art/a_35_14/ Sigma Lens 35mm F/1.4 DG HSM Ultra-Fast f/1.4 Max. But the 35mm F1.4 DG HSM may possibly be its best yet. In fact it's one of those rare lenses for which finding any fault seems almost churlish, so good is its overall performance. Let's start with the optics. It's remarkably sharp, even wide open, outperforming not only its Canon, Nikon and Sony equivalents, but also the far more expensive Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 1,4/35 in lab tests. Chromatic aberration is also impressively well controlled (both lateral and longitudinal), distortion is low and vignetting more-or-less typical for its class. The rendition of out-of-focus regions is generally quite attractive, although complex backgrounds can end up looking rather 'fussy'. The overall result, though, is a lens that delivers fine-looking images with the minimum of fuss, shot after shot. There's nothing to complain about with regards to handling either. Focusing is fast, silent and positive, and we've found our Canon-mount test sample to be very accurate too (although this being an F1.4 prime, you've got to take great care over where you place your focus point). The manual focus ring is smooth and precise, and allows the focus position to be adjusted after autofocus. Several small-but-useful touches, such as a ridged grip on the underside of the barrel, and even a redesigned, unusually-positive centre-pinch front cap, all add to the usability. Sigma has clearly put a lot of thought into every aspect of the lens's design. Equally, it's difficult to find fault with the build quality, which feels reassuringly solid. But one point to note is that Sigma doesn't describe the lens as weather-sealed, unlike its more expensive Nikon counterpart. So if this is particularly important to you, then the Sigma may not be the best choice. The aren't many other obvious reasons not to buy it (although Canon users who value image stabilisation over outright speed, perhaps for video work, should also consider the EF 35mm f/2 IS USM). The Final Word Every now and then we come across a camera or lens that hits a sweet spot of image quality, usability and price that makes it an easy recommendation. The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM is just such a beast - it manages the impressive trick of being substantially cheaper than the camera manufacturers' equivalents while matching or beating them optically. If you're after a top quality fast prime at this focal length it should be right at the top of your short list, and it easily earns our top award. see below for photos,
