  1. Hello SNA, Can any one recommend a good USB cable for a DAC - USB A to USB B. Length : atleast 2m Budget: $100 - $200 Thank you
  2. Purchased new from authorised AudioQuest dealer. Second from the top model from AudioQuest. Component video provides a significantly better picture than other analog connections, like composite or S-video. Its greater color bandwidth results in clearer color reproduction with less bleeding. AudioQuest's YIQ-3 delivers sharp detail and accurate, lifelike colors from your video source. CinemaQuest YIQ component video cables include three identical maximum performance coaxial cables, one for each of the three component signals; the “Y” (b&w) signal and the “I” and “Q” signals (also known as Pb and Pr), which contain all the color information. In the two channel S- video system (also known as Y/C), the “I” and “Q” component signals are combined to create a single “C” signal. When available, a three channel component signal is better because it avoids the degradation caused by the process of combining and separating. YIQ-3 uses a 6.1% Silver Center Conductor (6.1% SPC) insulated with Hard Cell Foam (HCF). Normal 1.25% silver-plate greatly improves high frequency performance for a fraction of the cost of solid silver. A 6.1% silver conductor is much closer to all silver, still for a fraction of the cost. Nitrogen Injected HCF reduces distortion caused by the insulating material. The combination Copper foil and Silver- Plated braid shield provides 100% protection coverage and lower distortion. Gold-Plated RCA, BNC or D- Sub 15 connectors are professionally attached with superior AudioQuest solder.

  4. Hi guys, When you are on the road of hi-end hi-fi equipment, power supply is one topic attracting a lot of discussions. We hear a lot of good power cable names like voodoo. However here's the problem: majority of these power cables gives only British three-square pin plugs or American two-flat-pin-plus-one-round-pin plugs. There is none for Aussie plug. Also for power conditioning bars they give British and American formats like the product below. http://www.mshdpower.com/products_p.html?category=sockets&class=uk&oem=2&xml=MSUS06SRHKV2&model=MS-US06SRHK V2 While you are using these power bars, where do you find the cable from this bar to your wall socket? Or you simply do yourself a tradie and change the wall socket to British/ American?

  13. Further information: I bought these from an Audio Shop in Caxton St. They are approx. 2m in length. I can't tell what they are but from memory, I bought pair of blue Heaven and a pair of Solar wind but sold one pair locally last year and kept this pair. Although the cables are identical but one has a blue line at the edge and the other one is clear. Perhaps someone here who is familiar with Nordost cables and can help identify with further info. Apart from that, one terminal has recently broke off but can be re-connected if you are a bit handy. Cables have a few creases but no major bend or breakages ( apart from what mentioned above). A arrow direction has been marked on both cable as per photo. Cable is silver in colour and no oxidisation whatsoever Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  18. I see the latest Luxman speaker cables have this wire called a "drain wire". Does anyone have any idea what it is meant to do because I'm confused as to its intended purpose. http://www.luxman.com/product/detail.php?id=31 It seems to be utilized in the interconnects as well.
