  1. Item: Audioquest Redwood 8ft Speaker Cables - Bi-Wire, Spades Location: Sydney Price: FURTHER REDUCTION to $4,200(was $5,000) + postage and insurance Item Condition: Very Good Reason for selling: Excess Payment Method: Pickup/Post - Cash, Direct Credit Extra Info: I've further reduced these cables. Opportunity to own high end cables for an absolute bargain price. This is ONLY 26% of the RRP of $16,100 for a 2.5 metre pair here in Australia. I did a direct comparison between Oaks and the Redwoods. Oaks were no slouch but the Redwoods were a complete step up from my Audioquest Gibraltars. The Redwood were more of everything. Think of the Oaks as an evolution with the Redwoods being a revolution. Comparing RRP price. A 2.5 metre pair of Oaks is $5,100, the Redwoods, $16,100. I bought these a few years ago from a Audioquest retailer in the States. These were his own cables. His Audioquest area manager verified their originality(see extract of email below). Last year one of these cables had an issue so both were returned via Ambertech(Australian Distributor) under their lifetime warranty. Audioquest replaced one cable and fitted new spades to the original cable(I have correspondence). The new cable has a smooth finish DBS finish pack while the older cable has the previous slightly rubbery finish, both are 72v DBS and performance is unaffected. Can purchase a new DBS pack from Audioquest if you want. Some scratches on one of the cable covers(see attached). No original packaging. Pictures:

  5. I just purchased the AudioQuest NightHawk Carbon at a closeout price of $299 USD in the U.S. The original price here was $699 USD, so the new closeout price is 3/7 of the original. The packaging was new with the NH Carbon, and so well packaged that it would survive severe moisture and humidity for 100 years or so. The sound is the same as the original NH, i.e. dull and cavernous due to the combination of lower-mids emphasis and mid-treble recess. Fortunately, when EQ'd properly the NH sounds marvelous. http://dalethorn.com/Photos/Audioforge/Audioquest_Nighthawk.jpg (Note: EQ curve is the inverse of a freq. response curve) About a year ago I also purchased the NightOwl Carbon, hoping for a better sound, but it was even worse than the NH. I really have to wonder, given the massive promotion by AudioQuest for these headphones and their designer (Skylar-somebody), whether anyone with an appreciation for high fidelity reproduction actually listened to these designs and signed off on them. I have my doubts.
  6. Item: AudioQuest, Aspen, Speaker Cables full range 3m / 10ft pair $1250 Location: Clayton or Devon Meadows happy to post anywhere. Price: $1250 Item Condition: Used but in excellent condition I have original receipt from Amber Technology who are the importers. Reason for selling: I'm now running mono blocks so need shorter speaker cables Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, direct deposit, COD Only Extra Info: SOLID PERFECT-SURFACE COPPER+/PERFECT-SURFACE COPPER (PSC+/PSC) CONDUCTORS: Aspen uses a carefully finessed combination of high-purity Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC), and extreme high-purity Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors in a Self-Shielding Double Counter-Spiral HyperLitz design. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a major source of distortion. Surface quality is critical because a conductor can be considered as a rail-guide for both the electric fields within a conductor, and for the magnetic fields outside the conductor. The astonishingly smooth and pure Perfect-Surface nearly eliminates harshness and greatly increases clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N and other coppers. The superior purity of PSC+ further minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries, which exist within any metal conductor. DIELECTRIC-BIAS SYSTEM (DBS, US PAT #S 7,126,055 & 7,872,195 B1): Insulation is an electrical barrier, and also a “dielectric” because it is inside the conductor’s magnetic field. All insulation slows down and smears the signal inside. When insulation is unbiased, it causes different amounts of delay for different frequencies and energy levels, a real problem for very time-sensitive multi-octave audio. AudioQuest’s DBS creates a strong, stable electrostatic field which saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules of the insulation. Saturated (full) insulation absorbs less and therefore releases less out-of-phase energy. Minimizing nonlinear time delays results in clearer sound emerging from a “blacker” background. The DBS battery packs will last for years. A test button and LED allow for the occasional battery check. DOUBLE COUNTER-SPIRAL GEOMETRY: Aspen and the other AQ “Tree” Series cables have an inner circular array of positive conductors spiraling in one direction. Around this inner group, the negative conductors spiral in the opposite direction, which makes possible the significant performance advantage of the positive and negative conductors crossing each other instead of being parallel. However, the critical need for positive and negative to have a fixed non-changing relationship is ensured as the negative and positive groups are in fact two tubes with a perfectly consistent relationship. The result is an astonishing clarity, like focusing a camera lens you had no idea was so far out of focus. CARBON-BASED NOISE-DISSIPATION AND CROSSTALK-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (INSULATION): The negative conductors in Aspen are covered with partially conductive Carbon-Loaded Polyethylene. This remarkable material damps radio-frequency garbage from being fed back into the amplifier. The sonic benefit is exactly the same reduction in “hash” and improved dimensionality that comes whenever RF interference is reduced in an audio circuit. Another carbon layer also damps interaction between positive and negative conductors, and an external 3-layer carbon-based NDS System additionally absorbs external interference. SPREAD-SPECTRUM TECHNOLOGY (SST): Any single size or shape of conductor has a specific distortion profile. Even though radially symmetrical conductors (solid or tubular) have the fewest discontinuities, any particular size still has a sonic signature. SST is a method for significantly reducing the awareness of these character flaws by using a precise combination of different size conductors. The different SST-determined conductor sizes used in Aspen allow an exceptionally clear, clean and dynamic sound. BIWIRING: When possible, running separate conductors or separate cables to the treble and bass halves of a speaker will considerably reduce distortion. BiWiring helps by keeping the large magnetic fields associated with bass energy out of the treble cable, allowing the delicate upper frequencies to travel a less disturbed path, like keeping the big waves out of the water when you swim. Although Aspen is an ideal Full-Range cable, it has also been designed to make it possible to truly Single-BiWire. Many multi-conductor cables claim to be good for BiWiring, but unless there is real magnetic isolation between the bass and treble conductor groups, dividing such cables into bass and treble can actually be worse than keeping them together. TERMINATIONS: Aspen is prepared by Cold-Welding AudioQuest’s 1000 Series Hanging-Silver Multi-Spades or Bananas. The plugs are plated directly over pure Red Copper by submerging (hanging) the spades and bananas into a vat of extreme-purity silver, resulting in a very thick Direct-Silver Plate. There are no intermediary performance degrading materials. Aspen’s breakouts (where the cable divides into positive and negative legs) are also special: Because a metal breakout would disrupt the cable’s magnetic fields, Aspen’s breakouts are magnetically invisible ABS. DIRECTIONS: Because all drawn metal is directional, all audio cables are directional. AudioQuest analog and digital audio cables are all controlled for correct directionality. The best sound is made possible by following the “Amp” and “Speaker” labels on Aspen’s breakouts.

  8. Item: Audioquest Leopard 2m RCA-RCA Tonearm Cable with 72V DBS System Location: Melbourne Price: $850 (Retail $1535) Item Condition: Unused. Only taken out of box and cable protectors moved to photograph Reason for selling: Rationalising analogue. My high end tonearms have captive cables Payment Method: Cash, Bank Transfer or Paypal Extra Info: Top of the Audioquest range designed for a specific purpose: the best possible transmission of low level phono signals from a terminal block, i.e. when a tonearm is not terminated with RCA plugs at the end of long captive leads, but with RCA sockets. This approach has 2 possible benefits: allowing alternative cable choices and eliminating the possibility of mechanical drag on a turntable's suspension. The Leopard tonearm cable in particular has many advanced features which should produce a tremendous upgrade to the performance of turntables with a terminal block, such as many of the Pro-Jects. Some of these features include solid "perfect surface silver" conductors surrounded by fluoropolymer air tubes enhanced with their radical battery-bias dielectric ("DBS") system, carbon-loaded synthetics to absorb RF interference and "cold welded" direct silver plated plugs. A lot of technology to enhance one of the most critical signal paths in an analogue system! Pictures:

  14. Item: Audioquest Indigo+ Speaker Cables, 2x2m, Chord termination Location: Sydney, St Leonards Price: $120 + $10 postage Item Condition: Good condition, some wear and tear, scuffs, but nothing major Reason for selling: Upgrade Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: I have for sale my Audioquest Indigo+ speaker cables - 2 x 2 meters. The cables have been terminated with Chord plugs a couple of years ago. The current configuration is 2 spades at the speaker end and 2 banana plugs at the amplifier end. Each channel consists of four conductors in the famous Audioquest's Hyperlitz configuration (solid FPC and LGC copper wires of different diameters). That makes this cable also suitable for bi-wire or bi-amp configuration (if you wish to re-terminate the cables). I had my Audioquest's for probably over 10 years playing in my main system and they are in great condition. They have some wear and tear, some scuffs, but nothing major. Pickup available from either St Leonards (2065) or Sydney CBD, but I'm also happy to post to anywhere in Australia. Advertised on ebay too. Pictures:

  22. I have a DBS issue and hoping someone can help. I bought the Water RCA cable from on here a while ago. The test button for one of the cables didn’t work and I just got around to changing the batteries. The test button now lights up green, but when plugged in to the little chord in the end of the table it doesn’t. And it gets really hot so that the batteries are burning hot. Does anyone know of this issue?
  23. Item: Vandersteen Speakers - 2CE Signature Series & Audioquest Leads Location: Byron Bay Price: $900 Item Condition: Very Good Reason for selling: Downsizing Home -> Downsizing System Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I have loved these Vandersteen speakers for several years, but we're downsizing our home and I have to downsize my audio system. Vandersteen 2CE's are serious audiophile quality speakers. They are 4 way speakers with a frequency response from 28Hz to 30Khz. I have used them for both music and as front speakers in a surround sound system. They have always been used with Quicksilver M60 monblock valve amplifiers with which they are well matched (I have 3 x M60's also listed for sale). The sound is rich and vibrant but crystal clear. Here is a link to the Vandersteen website and a review of these speakers in Stereophile. http://vandersteen.com/ http://vandersteen.com/media/files/Reprints/stereophile2cesigreview.pdf I am very careful with my equipment and they are in excellent condition with only very minor bumps and scratches These speakers currently retail in Australia for $3,300 (Sound Reference Melbourne & Caxton Audio Brisbane) Also included are a pair of Audioquest Crystal+ (marked as solid FPC copper and solid LGC copper hyperlitz - made in USA) bi wired leads (1,200 mm long) which I have used exclusively with these speakers. These are really top notch with each lead measuring 15mm across each of the 4 cables If you are interested in these speakers and leads I will be happy to speak with you and answer any questions. Please contact me by email for my phone number Pictures:
