  1. Item full name and model etc. ...see below for individual details * Location ... Melbourne * Item condition description ...see below (Standard SNA/Goldmine gradings) * Price and price conditions ...as specified below * Reason for selling ...Your hand-picked suggestions from my s/hand stock. * Payment/delivery Methods: NO PICKUPS SORRY - mail only. Bank transfers, or PayPal (Friends & Family only, no notes) are both welcome. STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW: Once all sold (or near to), a donation to SNA of 5% of the total sold will follow. All titles here get brand new inner and/or outer sleeves as needed before shipping. I try and ship 5 days a week. THE SMALL PRINT: I fully guarantee everything I offer - if you don't like any item for whatever reason, return it at my expense, no questions asked (verified 30 day+ active Forum members only thanks).. Original contents are stored inside the cover. I try to ship all records outside the cover and inner paper sleeves, so any postal damage is minimised. I use new pre-made cardboard mailers for all orders, and these virtually guarantee safe arrival of your record (they are also MUCH faster to pack). Combined postage to anywhere in Australia at cost (or close enough) and is EXTRA (ie. not included in prices). ABSOLUTELY NO LOCAL PICKUPS - don't ask - it's not going to happen. I just don't have the time, sorry. I'm barely at home as it is though, and have no wish to be here waiting around for hours at a time. Lastly - I'm not a shop. There are no credit card facilities and this is not my full-time job (though sometimes it feels like it might be!). It's a hobby we all love, where I will try to make damn sure that *everyone* wins. Complain to me loudly if anything goes wrong (although it barely ever does) - and it'll be fixed. Post in this thread to reserve your item(s). NB: CONSERVATIVE GRADING… cover first / record grade 2nd _____________________________________________________ NEXT VINYL Offerings.... MARCH Late Month --- P A R T 2 ---- Beatles - The Beatles (White Album) - remastered double Stereo (094638246619) SEALED VG++/NM. Some very minor corner bumps, small wrinkled spine but really most stores would sell this at full retail without a care. $44 Eagles - Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 (08122-79793-79) VG+/NM SEALED. How's this for a track listing? 'Take It Easy', 'Witchy Woman', 'One Of These Nights', 'Take It To The Limit'...to name just four. 180gm repress cut from original Analogue master tapes with original fully embossed cover. One small bend/bump across top left corner front, else lovely. $34 Pink Floyd – Animals – 2016 remastered 180gm repress (888751842717) VG+/VG++. Slight rubbing/storage wear to front, gatefold inside and back. New cardboard repro sleeve is spotless. Record is a standout and sounds absolutely fantastic despite showing some very light marking - doesn't sound. $32 The Cars - Candy-O - 2017 Reissue with etched D-side remastered 180g gatefold (081227938284) NM/NM. STERLING RKS (Ryan Smith) mastered. Perfect gatefold inside and out. All inserts. As new Record. $25 The Jezabels - Synthia - 2015 Double LP press (JEZ006V) VG+/NM. A wrinkle on the spine, and a small bump top edge of spine means the cover is pretty damn nice. Gatefold lovely and back also very good. Both lyric inners are perfect, as are the wax inside. $35 **** 2 copies ***** Van Morrison - Moondance - 2008 black vinyl repress (081227990701) VG++/NM. Remastered, Gatefold 180 Gram on black vinyl. Gatefold near perfect but for the tiniest amount of rubbing wear on the front and back cover. Perfect records on both copies - identical covers actually. $32 each LIVE – Secret Samadhi – New double vinyl repress on silver wax in gatefold, numbered #1105 and ltd pressing (MOVLP1885) SEALED and brand new. NM/NM. Incredible album and a long overdue re-release. 20th anniv. edition includes poster. $49 Rolling Stones - Blue & Lonesome - 2016 gatefold double vinyl Dutch press (602557149449) VG++/VG++. Very light edgewear only on the cover. Two great inserts. Two excellent discs with only the lightest of marks. Still very expensive at JB Hi Fi. $38 Rolling Stones - Through The Past Darkly (Big hits Vol.2) - 2014 ABKCO remastered reissue in Otagonal cover repro, clear vinyl (018771900313) VG+/VG++. Cover has some light edge wear, else very nice. Disc is perfect. $28 The Beatles - 1 - beautiful double gatefold set (602547567901) VG+/NM. The song selection is nothing less than extraordinary, representing each of the band's different styles and phases: Merseybeat, folk-rock, experimental-psychedelic, and back to basics-rock. The sound quality of the songs is without a doubt the very best to date...a beauty, and still not cheap to find locally. Gatefold press with quality inners and prints. The cover has just one bent corner bottom right front and small bumped corners, that won't worry most. Two excellent records with only lightest marks anywhere. $38 The Beatles - Please Please Me - 2014 remaster (602537825707) NM/NM. Released in mono on 180-gram vinyl LPs, newly mastered from the analogue master tapes and with replicated artwork. Cover perfect. No insert. Plain white poly-lined inner. Disc is perfect. $28 David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust & Spiders From Mars - 2016 EU remaster repress (0825646287376) VG+/NM. Cover has bends in both corners on the back and some light impressions, one bend top left front. Else the insert is lovely, plain white poly-lined paper inner. New outer poly of course. Spotless record as NEW. $24 Talking Heads - Speaking In Tongues - 2013 US repress (R1-23883) VG++/NM. Lovely cover with near-zero wear, paper lyric OIS prefect. Lacquers cut from the original analog 2-tracks at Bernie Grundman Mastering and cut by Chris Bellman. Wax is as new without a mark. $32 Billy Joel - An Innocent Man - 2010 Friday Music repress on black vinyl in gatefold (829421388371) VG+/NM. Gorgeous gatefold but for split on top edge on back half of about 10cm. Not visible from the front in the poly outer. Near Mint record without a mark. $32 Doors - L.A.Woman - 2009 Rhino 180 Gram Vinyl (081227986551) VG+/NM. Reissue on 180-gram HQ virgin vinyl presents the original stereo mixes, artwork and inner sleeves. The lacquers were cut at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood, CA under the direct supervision of original Doors producer/engineer Bruce Botnick and Electra Records founder Jac Holzman. Some very light wear on cover (VG+), no outer baggie/hype stickers etc. Else perfect record and contents too (NM). $30 Prince – Purple Rain – 2015 remaster with original 1984 packaging including the poster and the new silvered edges and mirrored back (1-547450-K1) VG+/NM. Another excellent Kevin Gray remastering. This copy is in 98% of the original factory shrink still (VG+), with hype sticker. One banged up bottom right corner under that shrink. Near NEW poster, insert and spotless wax (NM). $32 PART 3 (FINAL) being prepared as we speak.... See you then....
  2. Item: Pair Martin Logan Summit-X electrostatic speakers Location: Hobart Price: $11,000 Reduced to $9750 Item Condition: Near Mint Reason for selling: Changed circumstances Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Purchased brand new - delivered June 29th 2017. High-gloss piano black finish. Other than perhaps a bit of dust, there are no cosmetic imperfections (eg vacuum cleaner knocks, etc) as far as I am aware. They can be accurately described as Very Near Mint. Serial Numbers ABX8053795G12 / 796G12 [Aside: these are my second pair of Martin Logans, having previously owned ML Ascents.] RFS: Essentially a ground-up rationalisation & stripping back of a hobby that has gotten a tad out of control, resulting in too much stuff. In my dotage, these Summit-X were purchased as part of my ‘why die wondering?’ philosophy. But things have changed & I’m just not listening to music these days – have simply lost interest. [This trend was already under way earlier in the year, and I was aware of it, but I bought 'em anyway…..] Probably age-related I suspect as not much rouses me these days. Lately, the system is either not being used, or just ‘on’ as background noise – either playing crap-recorded ditties from the 70’s and ‘80s via Spotify or tuned to ABC FM Classic. In any case, extreme fidelity is wasted on my ‘mature’ (late ‘60s) ears these days. Perhaps also it’s my cutting back of the wine intake over recent months; constitution complains too much & the occasions when I sit down for a genuine ‘listen’ with a glass of red have become non-existent. No point holding onto gear for the sake of it. [In addition, the ML removal will not be lamented by herself - who feels they are ‘large’. I have argued that in actual fact, they are not as large as the once-resident ML ‘Ascent’ speakers …. Be that as it may, they cannot be described in most domestic situations as ‘invisible’.] My apologies for the rambling, but this pretty much sums up the blurry place where I am with music / hifi. Specs & reviews for the Summit-X can be found online. As a quick note here, the main features of interest to me at the time of purchase were:- 1: Fully active bass with dedicated internal amp (accordingly - only one set of speaker terminals for the panels) with clever electronics tweaking the phasing of twin 10” woofers (one front-firing, one downward-firing) in a design effort to emulate the dipole timbre / air of the panels. Personally, I could never hear the character difference between the panels & the cones of my former fully passive Ascents, but a young professional musician friend said that he could….and I trust his ears. 2. A very low crossover at 270 Hz – well out of the way of the heart of the midrange (vocals are particularly natural); 3: Bullet-proof physicality (can’t be finger-poked or tipped over) with respect to my 2 brand-new grandsons. 4: IMO, the air, clarity, openness, natural detail (without harshness), speed & fullness of a well set-up pair of Martin Logans is hard to beat. Please email any queries. Note A: The warranty unfortunately is not transferrable. Whilst I would be amazed if these gave any trouble whatsoever (with appropriate usage that is – probably not including extreme sustained volume head-banging!), you are on your own if problems do arise. Note B: For interstate shipping, these will be re-packed into their original boxes, plastic-wrapped and pallet-mounted as they were delivered to me (see pic). They come with all original docs, spikes, covers, etc. Pictures:

  22. Further information: Very well reviewed but very low price power amp. Due to Coronamadness(tm) and working from home I bought a few different amps to see what I preferred, and as good as this is, I just like the sound of tubes. As of posting this ad it is 2 days old and has been used for about 9 hours. Manual etc all unopened. Comes with original power cables etc (these are EU/UK so you'll need an adaptor or another power cable). Original box so will just package it up and send it to it's new home. 23. Further information: Purchased from Clay less than a month ago - this is an updated 2020 version but still in the current case so looks the same as the current model on the website. From Clay "Compared to a current Fein II is has extra regulators around the DAC chip & an improved main internal PSU" - I haven't heard the current model but this one sounds great - there are plenty of reviews and happy customers on SNA! Thanks to Snoopy8 you can read about how this DAC stacks up I've ended up with 3 DACS - a Holospring 2, Musical Paradise and the Fein II. It's been hard to know which one of the Musical Paradise or Fein II to keep but I think in my current setup i just enjoy the sound of a tube DAC more and I don't want to have a great piece of equipment like the Fein II sitting around not getting used. This is the USB only version. Have the box it came in so happy to post Oz wide for $30. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  24. Further information: As New Condition. Only 3 months old purchased locally from Digital Cinema at 26/06/2020 so the local warranty still have a long validity on them. I got a little crazy at that month and purchased 3 different budget speakers As far as I can tell there is no local store that stocked this speaker as i think the PSB brand is not popular in Australia even though its predecessor the Alpha B1 was popular worldwide and so is this new Alpha P5 . So ended up having to do an order in on them, used it for about 1 month after which I upgraded to a more expensive speaker. Not the best performing with a mini Yamaha amp but it scales well with a higher performing amp such as the vintage Marantz tube pre/power combo on my mains setup. Supposedly this have great synergy with NAD amplifiers since they belong under the same parent company but since i don't have a NAD amp I cant really tell. Comparison against KEF LS50 (Taken from https://www.soundstagehifi.com/index.php/reference-components/1390-recommended-reference-component-psb-alpha-p5-loudspeakers) Further Reviews https://www.stereophile.com/content/psb-alpha-p5-loudspeaker https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/psb-alpha-p5-loudspeaker/ Photos:
  25. Further information: As new pair of the very welll reviewed Buchardt audio S400 bookshelf speakers. I ordered these from Mads (the CEO of Buchardt) to test in my system as they have a very generous 45 day return policy. They aren't a good match for my perchant for lower powered tube amps (mine range from 8w-22wpc) and I was going to return them this week. Mads contacted me yesterday to let me know that due to COVID-19 the return shipping cost (which Buchardt covers almost all of) has gone through the roof due to COVID-19 and would I consider selling these locally if he provided a discount on my total AND he will provide the full 10 year warrenty to the new owner from the day they purchase these. Considering sending it back, and them then reselling will cost them a huge chunk of cash, I thought i'd see if anyone was interested in these. They are 6 weeks old, absolutely mint, and have been run in for about 40-50 hours in total. Not a mark on them, and have all the original packaging and accessories. Price is less than what I paid + the discount from Mads. Price is firm - previous sale fell through due to buyers lack of funds so they are up for sale again! Will ship anywhere in Australia for another $50 insured. https://www.buchardtaudio.com/shop/s400-white TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Operating principle: 2-way Passive radiator system Tweeter: 1 x 0,74" Custom fine weave soft fabric textile with CDC aluminum waveguide Mid / woofer: 1 x 6" Aluminum cone with break-up optimization Passive Radiator: 1 x 5x8" Long throw passive radiator with very low mass added Impedance: 4 ohms Sensitivity: 88 dB Frequency response: 33 - 40.000 Hz +/- 3dB (in-room) Crossover Point: 2670hz Power recommendation: 40 - 200 W Measurements (h x w x d): 365 x 180 x 240 mm (14.4” x 7” x 9.45”) Weight: 18 kg / set Speaker grilles included Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
