  1. Further information: I am in the midst of downsizing one of my systems and have been selling off some vintage turntables, amps, R2R and tuner etc as I realised that 3 systems may be one too many. Next up for sale and listed here is a pair of vintage Altec A7 Voice of the theatre (VOTT) speakers. These speakers move a lot of air and provide a feel of you are there realism. Hopefully there may be some fellow SNA audio enthusiasts who may be considering owning a pair of these bespoke speakers so I am listing them here. I have been a faithful custodian of these fine specimens and would like to pass them on as is to a connoisseur who can enjoy and take equally good care of them in their journey. Why do I say this? so far I have resisted requests to separate the drivers or sell to folk who (in my opinion) buy and on-sell almost immediately whilst masquerading as enthusiasts or hifi collectors. These are the highly sought after 16 ohm Alnico magnet versions of the 515B and 802D with their original diaphragms coupled to the 511B horn. They have the proper Altec designed 828 bass cabinets with the horn flares for the 515B. The bass bins are 840 W X 610 D X 1170 H I have built Hiraga crossovers using erse and big solen copper coils and jensen pio, mundorf and other capacitors that are crossed over at 500Hz making this an A7:500. I also have the original Altec XO which crossover at 800Hz which I will also include in this sale at my asking price. FWIW: in response to some inquiries I had last week from buyers wanting to buy separate drivers for their current projects or to flip, I decided to just see what the the bay prices are for similar items in good condition as its been awhile since I have looked. Pair 16ohm 515B USD $1850 + $190 shipping Pair 16, ohm 802D USD$2190 + $158 shipping Pair 511B horns USD$395 + $301 shipping Pair 800D crossovers USD$1000 + 220 shipping That's USD $5435 without shipping, 10% GST plus any import duties. I estimate to build a proper pair of cabinets with the proper horn flares would cost another AUD 2500 to $3500 depending on how competent one is in cabinet making or how friendly a carpenter is. I spent a couple of thousand on the hiraga xo's ,, yes don't ask (it was an all or nothing assault) Prospective buyers from interstate may be looking at around $500 in removalist costs to get them delivered if you cannot drive up and load them yourselves. It cost me about $400 to get them to me from South Australia when I bought them about 4 years ago. Prefer a local sale but can help with putting you in contact with the removalist who delivered them to me. Happy to field any questions here or via PM. P.S - I am open to a part swap for a 12 inch tonearm such as a Thomas Schick, Ikeda 407 or Vintage Ortofon or EMT as I am looking for one of these tonearms for my SPU carts. Photos:
