  1. For Sale Marantz SR-7005 Receiver Its in great condition, just under 2 years old and purchased from Apollo Hifi - Australian Stock I purchased the Airplay firmware upgrade also, so it's great to stream from iphone/ipad It is currently bi-amping my front speakers with a Proton 1200 Amp. It is 3D capable, and comes with microphone to set up speakers etc. I am probably updating to a pre-pro setup once this sells Cheers, Jeff
  2. Item: Apple TV 3rd Gen Location: Perth Price: $50.00 Item Condition: Very good Reason for selling: No longer required Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: For sale is an Apple TV 3rd Generation. ATV 3 comes with remote and power cable. Pictures:
  3. Item: Dolry HiFi Stone Airplay receiver Location: Perth Price: $40.00 Item Condition: Used but good condition Reason for selling: No longer required Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: For sale is a Dolry HiFi Stone Airplay receiver. This is a great little gadget that connects to any Apple 30 pin connector so you can add it to an old dock connector or speaker with the old Apple pin. The unit then acts as an Airplay receiver and you can stream music to it via Apple Airplay or through Roon. I was using it as an extra Roon endpoint on a Phillips speaker in the kitchen and it worked a treat. Of course you need a Wireless network to operate the Dolry Stone and an apple 30 pin connection, there is no other audio output.. I have some images below and also screen shots of the Dolry Stone as a Roon endpoint. Only selling as no longer required and getting rid of an assortment of other digital audio products that I have collected. Pictures:
  4. Item: La Rosita Beta FPGA DAC & Airport streamer Location: Sydney Price: $1850 + Paypal/Shipping (RRP $6000) Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Downsizing Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Bank transfer Extra Info: For sale is my beloved La Rosita Beta. I purchased this new from the Australian distributor in 2014. It is the 'new' model, that contains updated Airport power filtering & isolation. For anyone not familiar with the technology, it is an FPGA-based DAC that contains an Apple Airport module (so that you can stream directly to it from a PC/Mac). It also comes with a plugin for iTunes that bypasses OS X's own audio stack. You can use it exclusively as a streamer (it has SPDIF out), or as a streamer/DAC combo. The sound is utterly unique and quite beautiful. I've used it both as a DAC/Streamer, as as a streamer fed by my Lampizator L5. The Lampi adds that last bit of finesse, but even on it's own the Beta offers remarkable sound. This is is your chance to own a boutique piece of HiFi put together by a mad genius Frenchman, Dan Bellity. To quote 6Moons: The analog output was neither sterile nor colored. What we perceived was a presentation that let the timbres shine. Against a completely quiet backdrop attacks appeared out of nowhere and decayed beautifully without abrupt stops. In these decays the almost tactile timbres of instruments gave recordings a sense of truthfulness even though we still dealt with an aural illusion..Listening for hours with an appropriate playlist caused no listening fatigue and even encouraged the composition of musical adventures with track-specific playlists instead of whole albums. More here: http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/larosita/1.html NOTE: The rear power switch is a bit 'sticky'. It can sit halfway between on/off without doing anything. So you need to firmly press it on/off to get the desired result. I found that as it is a streamer that sits on your network, I just left the device powered on most of the time anyway. Priced to sell. Serious buyers only please.
  5. This Yamaha CD Player with lots of features looks like a great entry level solution - currently $549 at Todds Hi-Fi in Brisbane. Add an amp, speakers and a wi-fi connection and away you go! https://au.yamaha.com/en/products/audio_visual/hifi/cd-n301_g/index.html
  6. Item: SoTM sMS-200 Location: Cleveland, QLD Price: $500 (+$15 for shipping) Item Condition: Barely used Reason for selling: trying something different Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal (add +3%), Bank Transfer Extra Info: Purchased new on 17 Jan 2017 from Australian distributor, Crux Audio, arguably one of the best bargains in hifi today. 2016 saw the rise of the Sonore microRendu which beat out just about every network streamer, cost no-object. SoTM then licensed the hardware and software from Sonore and released the sMS-100 based off the microRendu. The SMS-200, released late last year, from all reports, outperforms the microRendu (when compared using the same power supplies). Acts as either a Roon Endpoint, AirPlay server (ShairPort-Sync v3.0), SqueezeTouch Lite, HQPlayer NAA or DLNA/MPD player... best performing/sound quality network player you'll ever hear, crushes the microRendu and Auralic Aries femto at a fraction of the price. Comes with the stock SMPS power supply and sounds great, but really comes alive with a good quality linear power supply (personally used with an Uptone LPS-1 to great effect). Review: Pictures:
  7. I was wondering if anyone has experience with the SOtM SMS-100 Network Player? I am looking for a device that will allow my USB DAC (IFI Nano) to connect to Airplay from my Macbook and I phone. I want to play music from iTunes, stream Spotify & ultimately stream from a NAS. Is this device a good thing or am I better off getting a mac mini and setting that up a music server? Are there advantages of one over the other? Cheers Doug
  8. Hey folks, I just made the leap to Windows 8, and I'm determined to to avoid iTunes (for the standard performance reasons). I've had a bit of a look around and initially I was leaning towards Foobar or something similar, but I'm also after something that will airplay to my receiver. From the looks of it, AirFoil and AirParrot don't work at this point. Something to do with applications being sandboxed when they run in metro. I've still got an iPod, so syncing ability would be good, but I can use DoubleTwist or something to get around with that. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience in doing this? I'm two days old with Windows 8, so forgive the ignorance if there is an easy fix here. Cheers.
  9. I just tried an interesting comparision: I used my Apple TV V1, which is connected via HDMI to my Denon HT system, versus using airplay to stream the same track, both Apple lossless format, to my Denon system from my Macbook Retina. The airplay version actually sounded better! Now I know there are many confounding variables, but I wonder what the experience is for other users of Hard Disk based Music playback?
