  1. Item: NuForce AVP18 Location:Maitland have all packaging will post Price: $450 Item Condition:Used Reason for selling:Sooo much gear Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info:This things a killer! Probably the best DAC pre I've ever owned. It has the ability to set crossover points and do room correction. Sound & Vision Magazine 6 February 2014 You’ll easily get through your diet of high-def viewing and listening with this great-sounding surround processor that works without a hitch. Fulfills your innermost audiophile aspirations, Simple operation, Excellent proprietary room EQ Ronald K Wills 5.0 out of 5 starsFantastic sound quality that is a joy to listen to music December 1, 2013 I really enjoy this AV preamp but you may want to read all my comments to see if it would be best for you. I was looking for a DAC preamp and came across the NuForce. What I liked about it was its simplicity - 4 HDMI in along with Toslink and SPDIF inputs. I play stereo music 95% of the time and use it as an AV Processor about 5% of the time. I am currently set up as a 2.1 system, not surround but will be adding an additional amplifier for a 4.1 system (without center channel) soon. The music quality of this AV preamp is why I gave it 5 stars. I recently sold the very highly rated Wyred 4 Sound DAC2 which sells for $1,500 and replaced it with the NuForce. The DAC2 is a highly rated stereo only DAC that excels in its price range. The amazing thing is that I enjoy the much richer sound of the NuForce over the Wyred 4 Sound unit which sounds a little lean to me. My speakers are Magnepan 1.7s, amplifiers are the amazing Odyssey Khartago/Kismet mono blocks, subwoofer is a Rythmik F12 and all wiring is by Wireworld. The sound that I am getting is nothing short of spectacular. The clarity is amazing, voices are startlingly real and the naturalness and tonal colors are fantastic. You get a nice sense of depth when the recording is done in natural space, such as a church or live concert, and works well with all forms of music. https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjG0Z3Fiq_aAhVOO7wKHXjpDdsQjRx6BAgAEAU&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.avsforum.com%2Fforum%2F90-receivers-amps-processors%2F1490124-nuforce-avp-18-mch-300sec7-personal-review.html&psig=AOvVaw2AMPdKz04mUO_fty6gmklN&ust=1523428164261929 Pictures:
  2. Item: Audio Research EC-4 three way active tube crossover Location: Adelaide (will post interstate) Price: $450 Item Condition: Good used condition Reason for selling: Using digital DSP (shock, horror) Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: This is a classic and rarely seen three way active crossover by Audio Research. It dates from the mid to late seventies. Frequencies are adjusted by changing capacitors on the circuit board. Crossover points are selectable at 50/100/400/500/800/1k/1.5k/2k/3.5k/5kHz. Uses 6 x 12AX7 tubes. This particuar example has been modified both for practical reasons (to operate at 240v) and for sonic improvements. A new 240v transformer has been added, along with an assortment of upgraded capacitors and resistors. In the process, RCA connectors have been moved to the front of the chassis. Unfortunately these modifications have not been carried out with aesthetics in mind. Nevertheless, if you can get past the less than immaculate appearance, this crossover will not disappoint. This is a rare, collectible – and for someone with an active three way system, a serious consideration. Info and photos of this unit in its original state can be found here: http://www.arcdb.ws/EC4/EC4.html I am happy to package and send this item interstate at buyer's expense. Please budget $30 to $50 for this, depending on your location. Similarly, a buyer in Adelaide is welcome to collect in person from the Adelaide CBD. 3. Item: JAMO PA-6000 dual 15" subwoofer and Reckhorn S-1 electronic subwoofer crossover. Location: Adelaide (can courier at your expense) Price: $675 or best offer Item Condition: Used but in good condition aesthetically and functionally (see pictures) Reason for selling: I've gone bigger. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Extra Info: This subwoofer cabinet contains 2 x 15" Jamo sub bass drivers in a ported bass reflex enclosure. Originally these were wired in series to create a 4 ohm load. I rewired the cabinet so each 8 ohm driver has it's own separate heavy duty speaker terminals. This way it can be driven by a regular home audio amplifier using the included Reckhorn active crossover. All you need is an auxilliary output from your preamp, and a stereo power amp to connect to the Rekhorn. This sums the signal into mono and creates two separate mono channels. This sub worked beautifully in my home setup, easily generating an in-room response down into the 20s (Hz). You have a lot of control over the signal (phase control from 0-270 degrees, variable high and low pass crossover frequency – and the ability to boost and cut gain at certain frequencies to counteract room nodes) which makes it easy to integrate into an existing system. More info on this unit can be found here: https://www.reckhorn.net/pages/active-x-over/s-1-electronic-subwoofersatellite-crossover.php I've actually gone bigger (two separate 18" subs that I run in stereo) so this cabinet is surplus to requirements. I'm sad to see it go though, as it was a very good combination. Functionally both the sub and crossover operate perfectly. The Reckhorn crossover is in immaculate physical condition, and I'd say the sub cabinet is in 7.5 or 8 out of 10 condition aesthetically. I've tried to portray it accurately in the photographs. There are a few scrapes and marks here and there, but I found once it was inside it looked perfectly respectable. The sub cabinet is 1040mm high x 500mm deep x 500 mm wide. It is heavy, (I'd guess 60kg?) but has two wheels on the back edge and handles on both sides and top rear. It also comes with a heavy canvas cover for transportation. I'm happy for somebody to organise a courier to collect from the south coast of Adelaide (postcode 5173) or collect in person. Pictures:
  4. Item: HEAVILY MODIFIED BEHRINGER DCX2496 Location: Adelaide (happy to post to other states) Price: $795 plus postage (no offers) Item Condition: Excellent condition physically and functionally Reason for selling: Needed more channels Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: This unit has been professionally modified by Selectronic in France. It has had their full suite of upgrades implemented, which cost over €1000. For a detailed exlanation of these upgrades, see the page on their site (I've translated it into English via Google Translate): https://translate.google.com.au/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.selectronic.fr%2Fdcx2496-modifie-par-selectronic.html&edit-text=&act=url I was extremely happy with this unit. It sounds absolutely superb. And if it only accommodated 8 outputs instead of 6 I would definitely still be using it! Item is in excellent condition inside and out and performs flawlessly. PLEASE NOTE however, that these modifications render the auto time alignment feature inoperable. This means you'll need to take your own measurements and calculate your own delay if you're using the time alignment function. (A superior technique in any event.) I have the original carton and manual, so can post to anywhere in Australia. Pick up from Adelaide CBD is also an option. Pictures:

  7. A little preliminary information bellow and attached. It should be possible to order on the www.VAF.com.au website later next week. Or call FreeCall 1800 818 882 if you want to get in first. The lowest distortion, highest output, lowest compression subwoofer we have ever made can move 18,000 litres of air in under 60 seconds. What do you think that might do for your hifi or home theatre system? â€One of our more substantial long-standing customers wanted to add a pair of our VAF MPB SW19 subwoofers to his surround system. Comprising seven VAF Signature Series loudspeakers, and along with his existing furniture they didn’t fit in his room. The Gravitas Project was born as a custom build for this system. It became a VAF product because the second we all saw and experienced the finished results, well, we all simply wanted that for ourselves. Now Gravitas is an ongoing VAF product and everyone else can have one tooâ€, explained VAFs Founder, Philip Vafiadis. "Considerably smaller and more flexible than the MPB SW19, Gravitas features two 330mm woofers (one at each end) along with two digital processor and amplifiers. Each woofer may be a different distance from a listener so we have made it possible to independently align the phase of each woofer. “A little pedantic? Sure, but this is a serious subwoofer and we are chasing perfectionâ€, Vafiadis said. He added, “It is difficult to express how awesome the new Gravitas really is. Normal specifications do not properly describe the effortless power, weight and authority. To frame the Gravitas’ immense capability in another way, when played to capacity reproducing the lowest note on a four string bass each Gravitas will displace 18,000 litres of air in under 60 seconds. Everyone who experiences Gravitas wants oneâ€. The first customer purchased four! That’s the equivalent of moving over one cubic meter of air in less than a second.†VAF claim great pride in attention to detail and state that inside the substantial 47Kg Gravitas there are five internal partitions ensuring no external panel is unsupported by more than 130mm resulting in an inert resonant free enclosure. Frequency is flat to under 20Hz, and the inbuilt independent Digital Signal Processing for each woofer may be a first on any commercial subwoofer. For audiophile stereo lovers there is a high pass filtered output making Gravitas an active crossover easing the bass burden and distortion of the loudspeakers which might be paired with it. Priced from $4,999 each in black Gravitas is 800mm x 350mm x 515mm. Custom finishes are available on request. www.vaf.com.au FreeCall 1800 818 882 email vaf@vaf.com.au VAF Research EMAIL - VAF Gravitas.pdf
