  1. Hey all, I'm hoping someone on here may have some experience with electrostatic speakers and difficult placement requiring the use of acoustic panels. I've purchased a pair of Martin Logan ESLs for my lounge room and I went in with my eyes open regarding difficult placement etc of this type of speaker. My situation is that ideally I need them to sit a little further back than the minimal recommended 2' from rear and side walls. They sound great where they are at the moment but having them so far forward is not aesthetically pleasing in our main living area (and the Mrs needs to be as chuffed as I am) so I want to move them back into more of a 'traditional' speaker placement. Does anyone have any experience running these closer to the walls? I'm assuming absorption panels behind /beside will help but will it also reduce the sound stage/volume? Would diffusion panels be better behind them? My ideal placement would have one speaker ~1' from the front and side wall, while the other is open on the sides but would still be ~1' from the front wall. Really appreciate any advice/wisdom
  2. Item: Primacoustics London 8 Room Acoustic Treatment Kit (black panels) Location: Melbourne or Hesket (Macedon Ranges) VIC Price: $200 (RRP $449) Item Condition: Previously used in a home studio but kit fully intact and with panels in very good condition Reason for selling: No longer using in new home Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal (at buyer's expense), COD Only Extra Info: http://www.primacoustic.com/london-8/ London 8 - Room Kit The Broadway London 8 room kit is designed for rooms up to 100 ft2 (9m2), or can be combined with other products to treat larger spaces. Ideally suited for home theaters and studios, these easy to use kits are an affordable way to start with acoustic treatment. The London 8 contains select Broadway panels that tackle problems affecting any room, such as primary reflections, flutter echo, and standing waves. In addition to acoustic panels, each London 8 room kit includes the corresponding mounting hardware and instructions for easy installation. Broadway panels are made from high-density 6lb per cubic foot (96 kg/m³) fiberglass, offering nearly five times greater absorption than typical low cost foam alternatives. This means that you get more absorption with less panels, while assuring an even absorption curve throughout the frequency range. The London 8 room kit is available in black, beige or grey fabric or in Absolute White™ paintable finish. Pictures: Engineering Data Sheet: Installation Guide:

  8. * Item full name and model etc. Studiocel flock coated broadband absorbers and corner traps * Location Brunswick, VIC * Item condition description I have 8 broadband absorbers and 6 bass traps. All are flock coated The broadband panels are 600mm x 600mm x 90mm. The bass traps are triangular and are 600mm high x 380mm across the front. I have the absorbers stapled onto some lengths of pine in pairs. They can be removed from the pine if necessary. I couldn't staple the absorbers onto the wall here so I put the absorbers on the pine and mounted the pine on the wall using the sticky backing from those 3M hooks. Worked pretty well. One of the bass traps has a small chunk taken out of the corner at the back. It isn't visible and is small enough that it won't affect performance. * Price and price conditions $550 * Reason for selling Moving interstate * Payment Methods: Cash * Extra Info There's enough foam here to treat a decent sized room taking care of the back wall, first reflection points and two room corners. Initially I'm going to try and sell these together, if I get enough interest I'll consider splitting. * Pictures (stolen from luckydog, can take pics of the panels if required)
