  4. Item: Marantz Model 104 AM/FM Tuner Location: Williamstown, Victoria Price: $170 $100 Item Condition: Very good Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Now priced at new lower price! Grab it before I change my mind!!! Well what can I say... except that it's a thing of beauty. You know the saying, they just don't make 'em like they used to. Well that goes for this classic Marantz tuner. Had it running last night and it has a warm sound while casting a wide soundstage with lots of detail. I was surprised how good it sounds. Haven't listened to it for ages and my system has improved dramatically since I bought this tuner. It's in great condition considering its age. A few light marks on top and a couple of small bumps in the top edge of the fascia, but not really noticeable unless you're looking for it. Most importantly, all the lights on the display work, including the needle which is used for tuning. This would look great on your equipment rack next to other classic Marantz gear, or a nice tube setup! Pictures:

  16. Item: Cyrus FM6 Tuner in Black Location: Melbourne, SE Suburbs Price: $200 (reasonable offers considered) Item Condition: Used but very good condition, the odd little mark/scratch on the back panel which you can see in the photos but the rest of the casing doesn't seem to have any noticeable issues. I can provide additional photos on request. Reason for selling: Not used - tend to listen to UK radio stations over the internet these days. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: I previously had this listed back in February as part of a 'starter' system comprised of all the Cyrus boxes I wasn't using any more but due to interest in the other bits separately this sadly got left behind and has seen me get in trouble with the home-CEO/CFO for it still 'lying around' the house. The Cyrus FM6 is a great little tuner (IMHO) and when fed with a good quality signal provides for a very listenable sound. I don't have the little AM loop wire or the user manual unfortunately but they're easy enough to source but in the box is the original remote and Cyrus MC-BUS cables. For more detailed specification and to download the user manual please take a look at http://www.cyrusaudio.com/support/legacy-products/tuners/fm6 Any question please PM me and I'll do my best to answer them! 21. Item: Retro JVC amplifier JA-S44 (50w x 2) with VU meters and inbuilt SEA graphic instead of tone controls - yes, I know these things can be abused, but they are actually useful in correcting for room acoustics! The Yamaha T-460 tuner has that nice green glowing tuner scale. The speakers are my own build, using Foster SLE 8" drivers which have a fairly broad range, plus paper cone mid/treble and a Motorola supertweeter for a bit of extra sparkle. Location: Sydney Price: $269 Item Condition: used but very good Reason for selling: reducing clutter, making room for more speaker building Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: As with all my speakers, these are a well-balanced and detailed presentation. The Foster SLE woofers are hard to get, and use a unique combination of rigid cone, double spider suspension, and a small air gap instead of a conventional roll-surround. I have kept a spare pair of these for possible future use! The amplifier has been serviced not long ago and is working well. The tuner does a great job too, while looking very cute. Nice system for beginner or student, or anyone really! My other ad here for speakers is: My build - Coral three-way floor standing speakers. 24. Item: Magnum Dynalab FT-11 Tuner Location: Perth Price: $380.00 + Postage Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: No longer in use Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Direct Transfer Extra Info: Excellent-sounding tuner from Canadian manufacturer Magnum Dynalab. The FT-11 punches way above it's weight, as would be expected from this ‘A’ list manufacturer. The FT-11 is a pre-set tuner that can be used in 'Manual' mode, tuning via the knob; it also has 3 pre-sets which can be individually programmed and selected directly. It features Mono and Muting settings, which makes it perfect for casual listening. It is a very satisfying tuner for listening to local stations. The tuner works without problems, as per the pictures it is also in excellent physical condition. This is a genuine 240 Volt Model, with original box Pictures:
  25. The exceedingly rare Sansui TU-X711 was Sansui's last venture into high-end FM, 12 years after the TU-X1 (Sansui's top-of-line fully analogue AM/FM statement tuner). The TU-X711's circuit-identical precursor, the TU-X701, placed 15th out of 84 highly regarded tuners in FMTunerInfo's famed sound quality shootout (beating the superb Sansui TU-717 by two places). In stock form this is the quietest tuner I have ever heard: stereo noise on a good wide/local signal is about -90 dB ...incredible ! As good as the TU-X711 is, in stock form, it can be substantially improved to bring it near the very top in sound quality. When these tuners very occasionally surface on eBay (usually in Germany) they are typically about €300 plus shipping to Oz. Here is my offer: Enhance my personal TU-X711, and get one FREE to enhance for yourself! I have two Sansui TU-X711s ! Both waiting to be enhanced, but I have neither the experience nor dexterity for such a task. I handed these tuners over to someone who, unfortunately for me (but not for him) has been phenomenally busy since then and will be for the foreseeable future. So I've retrieved them and I'm offering again. I do have excellently clear instructions, by FMTunerInfo contributor JohnC in the US, who has made these changes to a TU-X701 with apparently stunning results, and I have the full service manual and circuit diagram. The motherboard and daughterboards (power, MPX) are well laid out and easy to access above and below. Here is the list of suggested modifications and a few post-mod photos of JohnC's TU-X701: TU-X701 DIY Unless noted all caps are Panasonic FR, Panasonic FM, Nichicon HE, or Panasonic FC as available and in this order of preference. Orient the new cap with the long lead in the negative side of the 77 cap hole and the short lead in the negative side of the 100 cap. Desolder the 2043 JRC 6504 op-amp and replace with an op-amp socket and OPA2604 (for now) Replace the power cable (internal and external) by audio grade cable. I'd much prefer to see the external power cable replaced by an IEC socket, which would require some (neat) metalwork. If you can't do this, it is not a deal-breaker. Post-enhancement photos, courtesy of JohnC and FMTunerInfo.com: If you are interested in taking up the challenge, please contact me privately. Cheers Warren
