  1. So this may be the wrong place to post but if someone could help that would be great. I've got our main foxtel box in our lounge room but I want to be able to watch it in my back shed (mancave) as well. I am thinking of purchasing a HDMI splitter so i can split the HDMI output from the foxtel box into two. One that goes directly into our lounge tv and one that goes to a HDMI extender (powered) with a Cat6 cable that will bee to be approximately 40 meters long into a powered HDMI extender (receiver/also powered) into a HDMI cable and into my man cave TV. I'm not to good with cabling and stuff like this but after googling for a few days I thought I'd give it a shot. Any tips, or does anyone think it would actually work or am I just wasting my time. The inside TV is a Sony and outside tv is a Samsung. Surely it should work

  6. Hey All, I am Currently running a set Whatmough Floorstanding speakers, large rears and sub in 7.1 from an Integra DTR-30.1 AV receiver in my main lounge. As I now have a 1 year old son who wants to destroy everything he can get his hands on i've decided to move the Watmoughs to my "man cave" and purchase a modest set of 5.1 sub/sats to run on the integra amp so I can mount them out of reach. This area of the house is mainly used for TV/Movie watching ,very little music (as I have a nice set up for music elsewhere in the house). I live in the country so it is hard for me to get to dealers to audition sub/sats systems. Does anyone have any advice on sub/sat packages up $1500 that they can recommend?? Cheers Michael
  7. G'day. Apologies if this is the wrong spot, can't seem to find anything similar so I'm just gonna plonk it and hope someone either has an answer or can move it to where it'll get an answer. I recently got hooked up to VAST. The set top box is an Altech UEC DSD4121. Frankly it's brilliant, compared to the disaster that was our previous tv reception. My question is this:- I see there is available a PVR consisting of a new remote and decode whatsit. It seems it is incapable of recording a program whilst watching another channel. This doesn't seem entirely helpful, so I'm wondering if anyone has any clues on how to set up mythtv or something similar so I can record one channel whilst watching another? Also, is there a more simple way to send the signal to another tv, so the kids can watch what they wish (instead of old fart news), without having to install another set top box? Cheers, appreciate your time.
