  1. Hey there, due to some annoying circumstances, I've ended up with two Logitech Harmony Touch Remotes - anyone want to buy one? They're $250. I can post anywhere in Australia. I've been using one for almost a week now, and so far I'm a big fan. Let me know if you're interested, but if you are, please do so quickly, as I need to arrange a return to Logitech pretty quickly to get a refund - in other words this item won't be for sale for very long...

  3. Item: Supratek Cortese Location: Brisbane Price: $3500 + postage Item Condition: good Reason for selling: PS Audio BHK Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: This is a fully rebuilt Cortese into an older, stainless steel chassis (this some stains on the metal). The work was carried out by Mick in February 2018. This is by far the most musical preamp that I had the pleasure listening to. Slightly different to the BHK, can't say whether it's better or worse, just a little different. Comes with remote and XLR in and out. Have original packing, posting should not be a problem. Be careful to place it away from larger transformers (e.g. power plant or powerful amps). Pictures:

  5. Item: USP 1 PreAmp with phono and HT bypass Location: Torquay or North Melbourne Price: SOLD Item Condition: VG to Excellent, see photos Reason for selling: Changed to Integrated Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: Selling my Preamp (UPS 1) as I am not getting as I have sold my Emotiva Power Amp and Emotiva DAC. The USP 1 PreAmp has 4 inputs plus a Phono MM / MC, headphone output, HT Bypass, full manual here see pages 11 and 12 and comes with remote. Reviews below: http://www.tonepublications.com/review/the-emotiva-usp-1-preamplifier-and-upa-1-amplifiers/ http://hometheaterhifi.com/reviews/amplifier/preamplifier/emotiva-usp-1-stereo-preamplifier/ I have the original box for the Preamp and Remote. 6. 7. So the MOWAF has requested/demanded that I install "clappy lights" in our theatre room so when a movie has finished she does not have to get up to turn the lights on - last time she tired to navigate off the riser in the dark she fell off, which of course was my fault.. . I did instruct her to turn everything off after she got to the light switch but that suggestion was just met with a look that would have curdled milk... So I'm looking into getting my main lights remote controlled if possible (bugger clapping lights) and I'm just after some advice. Currently I have 6 led downlights installed with a manual dimmer control on a single switch. TBH I don't think I've even dimmed them since I got them installed so I don;t really care if they are dimmable or not I've found this Clipsal product that looks exactly what I am after: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/280879694030?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT but if anyone has any advice or thoughts it would be appreciated. Note that I am using a Logitech Ultimate setup with the hub, so either RF or IR are fine. I would prefer RF so line of sight is not needed but beggars can't be choosers, hey? Cheers.
  8. I was just surfing about earlier today when I decided to check out the Burson web site, just in case something was happening that I hadn't seen the last hundred or so times I'd been there, and something had. I had heard, long, long ago, that Burson was working on a remote control but had heard nothing since then (and that was back before the Timekeepers made an appearance) so it had just slipped into the back of my mind and been filed in the "Interesting but not yet important" folder and then quietly forgotten. Until now, Burson seem to have moved away from their 24 step volume control with three gain settings to a new 100 step volume control which is operated via volume knob or remote. They seem to have done a redesign of the DAC board too but I'm not sure how relevant that is as it doesn't seem to be mentioned on the new blurb page. (I'm guessing the update on the blurb page isn't finished yet, it still has a few pics of the old model mixed in with the new one.) So it's the same conductor but more convenient for lazier people. (The audiophile within me is only mildly curious, but the TV watching fat, lazy, couch-dwelling, arse-scratching bastard within me is smiling (and belching in elation) as he contemplates no more getting up to change the volume control on the new Conductor) Check it out here: http://www.bursonaudio.com/creations/conductor/

  10. I've just gotten started researching what will make up my home theatre and one of the things I'm very keen on is having everything hidden away when not in use. (This is because the room will not be singularly dedicated as purely a home theatre room but will double as the lounge area.) As such, I was looking at motorised lift systems (I had no idea they were so expensive!) - what I've been able to find so far are linked below: http://www.justprojectors.com.au/hermaflipper.htm http://www.justprojectors.com.au/hermadipper.htm http://www.avaustralia.com.au/interfit-lifters-projector-lifts-projector-lift-with-connect/ (Or something from here? http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?fsb=y&IndexArea=product_en&CatId=&SearchText=projector+lift - I'm not familiar with alibaba, does one need a trading license or business to purchase/import?) Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for something that won't cost as much as (or more than) the actual projector unit? Much appreciated.
  11. Hi friends I have been using the MF A 5.5 (250w times two with HT bypass), and it's a solid amp with oomph and drive. It's time to change it, and I am looking at a replacement with a budget of 5-7000 USD. - neutral to warm sonic signature - high current - HT bypass - will prefer a solid state - remote control and preferable standby mode instead of a hard on/off button - min 100w but 200 and up is better Any ideas? Thank you

  15. Good day, folks, I am thinking of putting a PC into my main system as a possible replacement for my media player. Why? Because the media player will not run absolutely everything (most, but not all), will not talk to the internet and because the PC is free. So the question is: What parts would be best to populate this PC with? Soundcard model for the best possible (stereo-only!) sound? Any USB bus types for extra external disks (of which I have many)? What o/s (I am thinking Ubuntu as it is free and can run headless if necessary) and if there are any drivers for using a remote control on such a beast? Any big no-nos here, things to watch out for? I think my other half would like that it is just a PC in the system rather than having to learn the ins and outs of my current media player. As yet I do not know the chip inside the PC, only that it is a small tower (not yet seen it) nor what else it has, but this should kick start the possible project at least... All recommendations gratefully received. Cheers. Al.
  16. Item: Wyred 4 Sound DAC2 (Black) Location: Canberra Price: $1180 O.N.O + postage. Item Condition: 10/10 (Apart from the dust it could be mistaken for new). Reason for selling: Have pre-ordered a higher end DAC and need to pay for it somehow. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Direct Credit. Extra Info: The W4S replaced a very highly regarded Weiss DAC2 in my system, and was more detailed, more musical, and had a better feature set. It was a complete bargain at its retail price, and is an even better at the above price. It has pre-amp functionality (for digital sources) with a remote, as well as phase reversal, a hi res USB input, and multiple other digital ins (including IS2). It is build like a tank (really really really solid), and was made in the USA. Sound wise it is highly detailed without being overly analytical, and has great drive and body. It is very neutral but isn't at all clinical. Reviews can be found here: http://www.positive-.../wyred_dac2.htm http://www.stereotim.../CD101410.shtml www.6moons.com/audioreviews/wyred4/dac.html http://www.avguide.c...nverter-tas-210 Specifications etc. can be found here: http://www.wyred4sou...0/117839/457975 Aus retail is $1950, but it can be had new for around $1750 depending on the exchange rate on the day (Deep Hz Audio are excellent in that way). I have all the original packaging, software, etc. And can include a W4S P1 Ultra power cable (US plug) which retails for about $150, for another $80. I am only selling the W4S because my most loved DAC of all time (more expensive than the W4S) has received an update and I have pre-ordered it. I need to sell the W4S to help pay for the new purchase. Pictures:
