  1. Further information: Vincent PHO 700 Phono PreAmp, is about 4 years old used in a second system and I am currently rationalizing my equipment after living between Melbourne and Torquay. 4. Item: Location: Perth 6036 (Far Northern 'burbs) Price: $4000 Item Condition: 9/10 Reason for selling: NLR see below Payment Method: PayID preferred (reliable, instantaneous, traceable and no fees, check with your bank) will also take Cash on collection, bank transfer and Paypal at buyers expense for fees Extra Info: Selling my beautiful Moon 340i. Only selling as I am moving towards a DSP based setup and recently purchased a DEQX pre-amp. This means that the exceptional internal pre-amp, DAC and balanced diferential circuitry are all being bypassed at the moment and being wasted. I'd rather let the amp go to someone who needs a top quality integrated solution and free up the cash for a dedicated power amp with a 12v trigger IN that works with the DEQX and reduces the possibility of my wife blowing up my speakers!! This is the D2px version in Black, the same version that retails at $10000 with the truly excellent phono stage but with the previous d2 onboard DAC (still excellent but not as good as the d3). I am the second owner from new and the amp is truly in excellent condition with no visible marks, dents or scratches of any kind as far as I can tell. It will be shipped in the original packaging (single box only) and will contain the power cord, manual and remote control. I've honestly never owned a finer amplifier, but I'm potentially going to replace with another used Moon power amp anyway. If you are reading this, you probably aware of who Moon are so I won't bore you with my description of how it sounds (so goood....) as there is plenty out there on the web but I have included a couple of useful links below including manual, review, current aussie retailer price etc https://www.stereophile.com/content/moon-simaudio-neo-340i-integrated-amplifier https://simaudio.com/en/product/340i-x-integrated-amplifier/?v=6cc98ba2045f https://simaudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/340i-X_Manual_EN.pdf?v=6cc98ba2045f https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/products/simaudio-moon-neo-340i-integrated-amplifier-with-dsd-dac-phono-stage Price is $4000 including insured delivery to anywhere in Mainland Aus, donation to SNA and paypal fees if appropriate. happy to discuss shipping further afield or reasonable price reduction if collecting from mine in Perth, cash etc. I'm posting this from work so I will add more and better quality photos later on. Pic of Pooch (his name is Chief) for attention only . Pooch not included with amplifier.... and because, well why not!! Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  5. Item: Valab LCR-1 Mk2 phono stage Location: Brisbane Price: $700 (A new LCR-1 costs over $1,300) Item Condition: As new Reason for selling: Buying a new DAC and getting a matching phono stage from Abbas Audio in the Ukraine. Upgrades. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: Local pickup only. I will not entertain posting anywhere so only queries for local pickup, or I can drop the phono stage to a Pack & Send if you've an account. The best sounding phono stage I've been lucky enough to run. This stage is completely transparent and sounds as though it's not even in the sound chain. Not sure if you can ask for better than that, and certainly there's nothing better available at this price point. The LCR-1 is known to compete with phono stages many times its retail price. From all reports the Mk2 is better sounding than the Mk3 though I can't imagine it would be a large difference. You can read a review of this wonderful phono stage here: http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/LCR-RIAA-shootout.htm Photos:

  9. I found a TT on the side of the road and was given another. I replaced the belt in one and stylus in the other. But now I need a cartridge for one, wanted to stay with MM and only wanted to spend no more than $300 to $500. Tivoli had Garrotts and the K series had been getting some good reports. A friend has a K3 and liked it. In the end I got a K2. The difference between 1, 2 and 3 is the stylus. I paid less than $300 for the K2 at the time. I had read where Garrotts play the music and hide the noise. This is true. Not only that the cart. appears to make all music sound good. The TT it is currently in is a new AT direct drive. With removable head shells and half a dozen new and refurbished old carts. cartridge rolling is fun, fun fun. Of all the carts the K2 is one I just keep going back to. My main rig is a Rega planar3, RB300 arm and Ortofon Rondo Blue MC. But the AT and K2 are fun and good sounding.

No pun intended. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info:Have suitable box, will ship etc. Very nice condition. From PS Audio site https://www.psaudio.com/nuwave-phono-converter/ Take the best analog phono preamplifier we know how to make, combine it with a state-of-the-art Analog To Digital Converter, place them both in a hand crafted chassis, add a massive power supply, provide fully balanced class A analog outputs as well as multiple digital outputs including DSD and PCM and you have the NuWave Phono Converter. Our expertise comes from building purist analog phono preamplifiers since 1974 and, in 1985, inventing and delivering the first high-end audio DAC in our industry. And it is with this background of design experience and innovation that we address today’s need for a no-compromise device that bridges the gap between the very best analog and digital audio systems. The PS Audio NuWave Phono Converter. Use the NPC as your analog source feeding any DAC or preamplifier. Archive your analog collection of vinyl, tape or simply enjoy your records without compromise. Analog, DSD, PCM, the NPC has it all. “I can’t think of any product that impressed me as much… Review unit = purchased!” John Darko, DAR. PS Audio’s NuWave Phono Converter (NPC) is a new category that combines a state-of-the-art analog phono preamplifier and analog DSD/PCM converter together in a world’s first. This is high resolution audio at its best. The NPC is a no-compromise approach to vinyl and analog reproduction in a high end audio system. The NPC accepts inputs from any analog source from tuners to turntables. This means users can input anything from an iPod to a $100,000 turntable setup, connecting the output of the NPC directly to a DAC, computer or preamplifier. Once connected, you can play vinyl discs or any analog source either directly into your preamplifier, through the NPC’s analog outputs, or DAC through the NPC’s multiple asynchronous digital outputs. You can also connect the NPC to your computer and RIP (record) to your heart’s content in either double DSD or 192kHz 24 bit PCM. This is the device you need if you’re going to build a library. The NPC produces both DSD and PCM from its digital outputs and high resolution fully balanced analog from its audio outputs. Use the NPC as the vinyl heart of your purely analog setup or digital setup. Either way, albums and analog sources of all types come alive with the NuWave Phono Converter. http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/ps-audio-nuwave-phono-converter/ Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  14. Item: Rebuilt 1962 Denon Nippon Columbia 12ay7/6072 Valve Phono-stage, SUT & Separate Valve Rectified Power Supply Location: Wellington New Zealand Price: $4,250.00 AUD or trade for substantial power amp? Item Condition: Vintage refurbished Reason for selling: I have 2 & keeping 1 forever Payment Method: Pickup - International Delivery - Cash, Paypal, COD Extra Info: 1962 Denon Nippon Columbia Valve 12ay7/6072 Phono-stage model AP - D78A including a switchable pair of Tamura 351 moving coil step up transformers separate valve rectified power supply. This is as rare as high quality usable vintage audio equipment gets. Originally built in the early 1960's and designed for radio station broadcast use, matched with the Denon 103 moving coil cartridge (still in production today). The specs for this phono stage work with many quality cartridges including Denon, EMT, Koetsu & others, easy to match. The circuit is updated using an Audio Note design to provide the dynamics & bandwidth demanded by modern audio systems & recordings. The undeniable fact is "they knew how to wind transformers back then". High quality audio grade components used throughout including Audionote capacitors. The sound is spectacular. The definition is razor sharp but never brittle or fatiguing. Bass slam is stunning. This is the total package. I have owned many systems but never before have I honestly said the speakers disappear. In one recording the conga player was 2 x meters outside & beyond the right speaker (system dependent). A superb moving magnet valve phono-stage, combine that with a switchable pair of original 351 Tamura moving coil step transformers worth well over $500.00 & this is a giant killer. In a recent audition it spanked a new phono-stage worth more than twice the asking price. It comes with the best of the best balanced GE triple mica blackplate 12ay7/6072 tubes, also spare sets of GE greyplates & the second best a set of NOS balanced RCA 12ay7. High quality NOS Philips rectifier. I will throw in some new production tubes as well. Over $600.00 worth of tubes. Only selling as I built 2 & will be keeping the other one forever. Grab a once in a lifetime chance to own a modernized piece of audio equipment history & then settle back to hear what your record collection was supposed to sound like........ Photos:
  15. Item: Lejonklou Giao Moving Magnet Phono Stage & Hagerman Piccolo 2 Head Amp (selling as a combo). Location: Sydney, NSW Price: $680 Item Condition: Near Mint Reason for selling: Not using! Bought out of curiosity. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash & Paypal Extra Info: This phono combination made headlines in 2017 when Michael Fremer of Analog Planet invited readers to conduct a blind listening test using a number of combination of Moving Magnet Phono Stages and Head Amps. The combo beat all other combinations hands down. I personally picked this combination as the clear winner and was not surprised that a majority of readers liked it too. Here is the article where you can read more about it: https://www.analogplanet.com/content/perhaps-you-should-buy-mm-only-phono-preamp-if-you-are-using-mm-cartridge It cost me about $1,300 to import both items. I'm selling as a combo because I think it would be a shame to separate the 'audio voodoo' that this phono solution offers. Please feel free to ask any questions.

Graham’s many tape recorder designs are unmatched, and his large range of studio equipment still highly sought. Read Graham’s profile at this Audio Engineering Society link: http://www.aesmelbourne.org.au/graham-thirkell/ Graham and Kostas Metaxas had many conversations on the differences and similarities between high end and professional design and requirements, and they collaborated on occasion. The phono input on this amp is one result of that collaboration. It is difficult for me to say goodbye to this amp. 19. I just bought myself a new receiver, a Marantz SR7500, for my vinyl setup. It doesn't have a phono stage like my Dad's old NAD I've been using until now, so I'm after an external one. My turntable is a Technics SL-BD20 though that will likely be upgraded in the coming months. FWIW I'm just listening with headphones for now, Sennheiser HD58X, speakers will come later down the line. Preferably I'd like something under 200 downundeh dollars, and preferably not an import. Ones I've found include; Schiit Mani $269 free shipping Pro-ject Phono Box $180 + shipping Rega Phono Mini A2D $149 free shipping Pro-Ject Phono Box SE ii $200 used + shipping The Schiit is a bit pricier than I'd really like but I've heard a lot of good things about it and it has by far the most information / impressions out there. Which do you think would be the best choice, is there something else I should consider? Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

  21. Hi gang. I'm continuing on my steep learning curve procrastination.....I mean.....research. I am setting up new gear, and plan to integrate my old Pro-ject 6.1 tt into the new system. I currently use a modest little Creek phono stage. My new setup can potentially be totally balanced front to back. No, this is not a debate about single ended vs balanced post! Rather, I am interested in advice on how to get the best out of the turntable connections (and no, it's not a post about placement, vibration isolation either!). I have a pre with balanced XLR in and out. I have true balanced XLR in Monoblock valve power amps. One set of balanced inputs to pre will be taken by a dac, leaving one spare. So (whew) this is the question. If one runs RCA leads from tt (as it is currently), are these technically carrying a balanced signal? If so, then I assume if up I use/build a phono stage that can keep a balanced signal to pre, then we still have a true balanced signal? Or, does the tt need rewiring for XLR outs? Or, does it not make a difference? Or......? Ideas?
