  1. These are massive and massively impressive speakers. The PMC MB2SE is renowned as one of the best large-scale speakers PMC has produced. I am told that this speaker was loved at Carlton Audio and was the staff's favourite. These speakers effortlessly delve into the depths of 20 Hz, delivering a rich and immersive sound experience. Their clear and impressive mids and uppers extend all the way up to 25 kHz, ensuring every note is heard with precision and clarity. I have thoroughly enjoyed having these speakers since I purchased them from the owner in Canada. They cause people to dance immediately when they hear music played on them. These speakers will be sold with my silver Tellurium Q Ultra Silver jumper leads (photos below) worth $1320 (https://www.classaaudio.com.au/jumper-cables/3499-tellurium-q-ultra-silver-speaker-jumper-cables.html). It's time for these speakers and me to move on. Design: Coming from PMC's MB series and studio monitors, the source of PMC’s legendary natural, realistic sound is the Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass-loading technology, professionally proven all around the world. ATL uses energy generated by the bass unit in a much more intelligent, efficient way than speaker designs based on ported or sealed boxes. Reviews: "By far, the new MB2 SE surpasses the sound quality of all my previous models. Paired with the Bryston 28B cubed amps, the sound is full and detailed, with a huge sound stage. The bass is so deep and powerful but not overpowering. The clarity in the mids and highs is outstanding, with no glare or brightness." [https://www.pmc-speakers.com/products/consumer/se-passive-series/mb2-se#] And I attest to this performance standard for these speakers. They are simply faultless. "PMC has helped us create a listening lounge that sounds incredible, where people will want to spend their time because it is special all the time." [https://www.pmc-speakers.com/products/consumer/se-passive-series/mb2-se#] Features: The radically engineered Radial™ bass unit with its immense exo-skeleton offers excellent physical and thermal stability; the cone has a perfect rigid structure, permitting enormous excursions, and the exposed fins act as a heat sink, keeping the coil cool at all times. 2. Anyone? I have on there way a pair of PMC TB2's, just wondering what others are using as a source and amplification?
  3. For sale PMC Twentyfive 23 speakers, piano black These need no introduction and are highly reviewed and recommended. 4. Further Information: New, in unopened, sealed boxes PMC 25.26i speakers in Diamond Black. Purchased 30 August, but in the interim an injury prevented me from unpacking and setting them up. My entire system has since been relocated to an area necessitating smaller, more manageable stand-mounts. PMC speakers come with a 20-year warranty. Glowing reviews can be found everywhere including: HiFi News https://www.hifinews.com/content/pmc-twenty526i-loudspeaker The Ear https://the-ear.net/review-hardware/pmc-twenty526i-floorstanding-loudspeakers/ The Audiophile Man https://theaudiophileman.com/twenty5-26i-speakers-from-pmc/ PMC Twenty5.26i Specifications can be found here: https://www.pmc-speakers.com/products/consumer/twenty5i/twenty526i#:~:text=HF PMC%2FSEAS®%2C 19mm,Recommended Amp Power%3A 15 - 300W The last remaining pair from the former Australian distributor, this represents a substantial saving on RRP for a buyer seeking new speakers. Get a new pair of three-way 25.26i's for less than the cost of the two-way 25.24i's. Would very much prefer local pickup but shipping is available if organised by the buyer at their risk and expense. No offers please. If not sold at listed price will be put in storage.
  5. I decided to start a new thread for the GtG at my place. The old thread is here: http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/index.php?/topic/61664-gtg-etiquette/ And the system is here: http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/index.php?/topic/59166-stereophilus-system/#entry1008253 10th of May. I am close to the Ballarat train station, 5 minutes walk. I'm not much chop in kitchen, but I'll supply beers, wine and pizza (from The Forge, which is awarded in the Age Good Food Guide 2014). Ladies can also be catered for at my wife's Dayspa, but bookings are essential. I have 8 spots available, but I need confirmation here from those who were "hands up" on the other thread. Cheers, John
  6. Here is my system. I have finally finished a lot of the tweaks I have been experimenting with. The MB2se's sound much, much better than they did at the AV show (thankfully). Assisi paid a visit today to try out a few things and have a listen. He owns ML2 limited's and a PS Audio PWDac as well. We both felt the PMC MB2se's have the same beautiful midrange and treble as the ML2's. The PMC's effortlessly disappear and reproduce realistic soundstage width and depth. In my space (quite large and open) the bass is perfectly proportioned and controlled. The sound is very much "live".
  7. Hello everyone, I am new to Hi-Fi but am just assembling my first (entry-level) serious system. I just bought a Rotel RA-1520 integrated amplifier and now I am on the lookout for a set of bookshelf speakers that would be a good match. This is for a 10m x 3.6m x 3m quite dead (mostly carpeted) open-plan space. The lady of the house has dictated that floorstanders are not an option. Ultimately I would also be looking to add a subwoofer to the mix to adequately cover the bass. At the moment I am just using a Pro-ject DAC box for input which I will also upgrade down the track. I was thinking to spend $AUD1000-1500 but could stretch to $2000 if there is a significant and justifiable increase in quality. I know that the only way to pick speakers is by auditioning them which I plan to do shortly. However, it would be very helpful to have a list of vetted options on which to focus. There is an incredible number of different options out there. It would also be helpful to get an Australian perspective given the different pricing and availability here. So far I've only listened to the Polk LSiM703 which I thought were excellent. A lot of people talk about B&W being a good match for Rotel (685, CM1, CM5). From other forums, KEF (Q300, R300, R100, LS50), Dynaudio (Excite X12, DM 2/6, DM 2/7), ATC (SCM11) and PMC (DB1i, twenty .21/.22) have also been recommended, though the latter are a little out of my league. If anyone could share their experiences with the above or suggest any other options, it would be very much appreciated. Many thanks in advance. Kind regards, Nick
  8. Hi, I am looking to buy a second hand pair of PMC DB1i or Tannoy DC 6 Revolution bookshelf speakers for my smaller listening room. I might also consider ATC scm 7,Amphion Ion or Proac Tablette ref 8. I also like the Audio Physic Yarra 2 Evolution, its a nice slim two way floor stander. Must be in excellent cond thankyou. Ideas welcome..must be a 2 way tho and suited to a small room set up
  9. Further Information: Around 70kRRP After a lot of thought I have decided to put the majority of my system up for sale. I thought I would first try to sell as a bulk lot but if enough interest is for the separate components I will relist items separately. First up is the fantastic PMC fact.12, a speaker that is in a league far above the more common twenty series, with extremely impressive range considering the driver size, they sounds far bigger than their looks suggest. Freq resp 26Hz-30kHz, 1110mm H x 168mm W x 420mm D and 26kg each Twin ATL (Advanced Transmission Line) ports with 3.3m effective length, Single, Bi- or Tri-wiring capability with 3 pairs of PMC Ag terminals & links supplied. Three-position LF and HF settings to adjust tonal balance for varying acoustics. Chrome-plated outriggers with spikes, the iso-accoustic feet are not included. PS Audio BHK 250 power amp, BHK Pre and Directstream DAC with the network bridge II. Here is an opportunity to grab a complete BHK set and DAC S/hand in the same colour in one shot, instead building piece by piece. There is so much information on the PS Audio gear so I won't clog up this listing with detailed specs. Price includes sellers fees for stereonet only. P15 Powerplant is not included in the price for this listing. Listed elsewhere.

  11. EOI for Monitor Audio GS 60 floorstanders. Santos Rosewood real wood veneer Original rrp I believe was close to $6k * Location- Melbourne Inner North * Item condition description- In excellent condition BUT a bass driver has several almost indiscernible dimples from a wayward small finger. It does not affect performance and is visible when close. In fact a friend pointed it out to me after I had bought them. I'll post photos when I get to it but do not be put off by this if you are looking for high quality speakers like these. They present beautifully, both sonically and visually. I bought these from Johns Hi Fi exchange late 2012 and they were sold with out the grilles so the listing is for the speakers only. They look stunning without the grilles and the quality and workmanship is highly evident. I partnered these with a Musical fidelity A5 but they are actually very easy to drive. * Price and price conditions- $2200 * Reason for selling- Restlessness and money for upgrade * Payment Methods: Cash - Pickup, Paypal or Australia Post COD * Extra Info: I prefer pick up only but can take to the nearest pack and send if delivery is required. Happy to audition them if convenient. The blurb from Monitor Audio http://www.monitoraudio.com.au/support/past-products/gold-gs/gs60/#/overview Developing the discrete cavity technology of the GS20, the four-driver GS60 recreates the deep bass and authentic scale of a performance, bringing lifelike power, dynamics and realism to music and film. Yet its tall, slender appearance is anything but overpowering. Like all models in the Gold Signature range, the flagship is a monument to the cabinet-maker's art: immaculate real wood or piano gloss finishes are blended with modern industrial design and superb attention to detail. Even if you think you've heard it all before, the GS60 will take your breath away. Anti-resonance build: driver held by innovative zinc alloy clamp system; traditional tongue and groove construction; extensive vertical and radial internal bracing. 6 1/2 inch die-cast aluminium chassis bass and bass-mid drivers featuring a new Rigid Surface Technology RST®II, C-CAM® alloy cone profile. A new 1" C-CAM gold dome tweeter extends high frequency performance to beyond 40KHz. HiVe®II port design: the new port technology uses a straight rifled construction to aid air flow and reduce turbulence. - See more at: http://www.monitoraudio.com.au/support/past-products/gold-gs/gs60/#/overview * Pictures Photos of actual speakers to follow soon sorry

Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, paypal, direct deposit Extra Info: These are fantastic speakers from PMC. Its a small box and ideal for desktop HiFi or in a small room. Amazing detail and soundstage from these speakers, and bass is pretty good for a speaker of this size. There are a lot of very positive reviews on these speakers. I used these previously in my bedroom, however, since moving a few months ago, we cannot fit a system in the bedroom anymore. I really like the PMC sound and continue to use its bigger brother, the TB2i in my lounge room system. A demo and pickup is possible from Blackburn South. I have all the packaging for the DB1i and can courier at buyers cost. Pictures:

  14. For sale are a mint near new pair of highly regarded PMC Twenty5 22i bookshelf standmount speakers in Walnut. Speakers were purchased on the 13/10/22 and come with warranty, original box and documentation. Recommended Retail Price is $6099. Speaker stands are NOT included. Pickup is from Glebe NSW 2037. My Impressions: These are the largest bookshelf speaker that PMC makes in the Twenty5 series. These speakers straddle the perfect balance between resolution and musicality. Bass is clear and tight and the transmission line design is effective in minimising any issues that other speakers may have in terms of compression or congestion and assists in mid range clarity. The speakers have a large and full sound for an enclosure of this size. This is an end game speaker for many as is to be expected from such a high end manufactured with such a pedigree in musical studios all over the world. These speakers are made in the UK. These speakers have been well reviewed by many leading publications. From the manufacturer: The largest stand-mounted two-way loudspeaker in the range, twenty5.22i is more substantial than the 21i, and designed for use in larger spaces. Equally at home on its dedicated stands, console furniture or other strong flat surfaces, the compact, still-trim dimensions belie the lengthy ATL™ concealed inside, which, coupled with the powerful 6.5-inch g-weave bass driver and Laminair™ vent, allow it to deliver a clean, uncluttered and powerful low-end, together with detailed highs from the newly designed soft-dome treble unit. Despite its increased size, twenty5.22i delivers a solid performance that remains agile and full of dynamism. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Type: 2-way, two-driver stand-mount monitor with transmission line enclosure Driver complement: One 27mm Sonolex fabric dome tweeter, one 170mm long throw, g-weave cone mid-bass driver Frequency response: 39Hz–25kHz Crossover frequency: 1.8kHz Impedance: 8 Ohms Sensitivity: 89dB/1W/1m Dimensions (H×W×D): 410× 92×373mm (Incl. binding posts + 9mm grille) Weight: 10kg/each
  15. Item: PMC TB2S+ Standmount Speakers - Studio version matte black Location: Horsham, Victoria (will courier at buyers expense). Price: $1500 ONO $1350 $1050 firm. Item Condition: Near New - 6 months old Reason for selling: Medical costs/Upgrading Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: These are the best speakers I have ever owned. I bought them from Stereophonic in Melbourne 6 months ago. They are extremely accurate, have great soundstage and go deeper than any speaker it's size has a right to. This is probably due to the transmission line design incorporated into the enclosures. The enclosures have 'PMC' etched into the sides of each speaker (photo 1) and are very durable. They come with original manuals box etc. I will be very sorry to see these go however my wife urgently needs surgery and that comes first. Pictures:
  16. Item: PMC TB2 speakers + Lovan Ballett II stands Location: Melbourne SE sbs Price: $950 negotiable Item Condition: Very Good Reason for selling: Upgraded to PMC GB1 floorstand speakers Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: These are excellent speakers. I love the way PMC tranmission line speakers sound so much that I ended up upgraded to GB1 floor standers. The veneer is slighlty chipped at the back (not visible from the front), and the cloth grills have three runs in it (see photos). These are only cosmetic imperfections and don't affect the sound at all. Dimensions: 40 (H) x 20 (W) x 30 (D) cm PMC specs: Power: 150W per side Sensitivity: 90 dB/W Frequency response: 40 Hz - 25kHz Serial no. 003747 and 003748. Made in UK. I purchase the speakers from a member of this forum. The Lovan stands have been purchased new from Carlton Audio Visual and I filled the columns with dry sand. You are welcome to come and inspect them, send a PM if you are interested.
  17. Further Information: Selling my lovely pair of PMC LB1 speakers. Classic transmission line monitors from the early days of PMC. They image beautifully and have great bass response from the Dynaudio / Morel woofer. Condition is good. The material on one of the grills has come away slightly as shown in the photos but that could easily be fixed. The previous owner attached mounting brackets to the back which I never used. These don’t effect the function and I'm sure can be easily removed.. Also available are a pair 460mm Lovan speaker stands. They are included for buyers able to pick-up as they are filled with sand and I’m unable to ship them. These speakers need a new home as I have upgraded to floor-standers. I’ll be sad to see them go. SPECIFICATIONS FROM PMC website: Crossover Frequency: 2.5kHz Dimensions: H 534mm 21" W 180mm 7.1" D 268mm 10.56" Drive Units: LF 110mm 1kw pulse 75mm voice coil HF silk soft dome with double chamber Effective ATL™ Length: 1.7m 5.5ft Impedance: 4 ohms nominal Input Connectors: 2 pairs gold binding posts Sensitivity: 87dB 1w 1m Recommended Amp Power: 0-300W Weight: 8.5kg 18.7lb
  18. Further information: These PMC Twenty5.24's were purchased brand new. I am the first and only owner. They are the Amarone colour variant. I had paired these with my Devialet Expert 200 (already sold) which provided a fantastic combination, especially with the SAM profile enabled. With SAM enabled these speakers dig even deeper than they already do, to around 21hz. See here. These are quite easily the best speakers I have owned to date and I'm having to give actives a try to beat them, especially at their very competitive price point. Condition wise these are extremely well looked after. There is not a mark on them. Even the silver rear faceplate that houses the binding posts is in excellent condition and retains its mirror finish. Please note that I used these with the Herbie's Gliders pictured but they are not included in the sale. I will include the standard PMC spike protectors in the sale. Pickup/Shipping - I have the original boxes for these. Whilst pickup is preferred, I can ship these if needed (buyer pays shipping cost) - I've sold and shipped speakers interstate on a number of occasions, even as far as Perth without any issues to speak of. - I'm happy to talk on the phone if required. DM me and I'll provide contact information so we can chat. Photos:
