  1. Item: McIntosh MC7300 Location: Sydney Price: $4,900 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Downsizing Payment Method: Pickup - Cash Extra Info: This amp has served me well for some years and I'll be sad to see it go . Probably the most reliable amp I've ever owned. The only thing that has ever failed on it are the light bulbs behind the faceplate (which is a thing on these older Macs) which does not affect operation in any way. It has never skipped a beat. I had the lightbulbs changed recently so also had it serviced while it was in. I have included a pic of all the caps that were replaced. Also still have 12 new bulbs for when the time comes. Cosmetically is in very good condition with a few minor blemishes and functionally sounds as good as the day I got it. Also have original manual in excellent condition. You can drive almost any speaker with this amp. This amp has been well looked after and is guaranteed to put smiles on faces for years to come Form Stereo power amplifier Output Stereo: 300W+300W (a sinusoidal consecutive output, load-impedance 2/4/8ohm) Mono-bridge: 600W (a sinusoidal consecutive output, load-impedance 4/8/16ohm) Mono-parallel: 600W (a sinusoidal consecutive output, load-impedance 1/2/4ohm) Output load impedance Stereo: 2 ohm, 4ohm, 8ohm Mono-bridge: 4/8/16ohm Mono-parallel: 1/2/4ohm Output frequency band 20Hz - 20kHz THD Stereo: 0.005% or less (at the time of 20Hz - 20kHz, 250mW-300W, and both channel drive) Monophonic recording: 0.005% or less (at the time of 20Hz - 20kHz, 250mW-600W, and both channel drive) Cross modulation distortion (at the time of 20Hz - 20kHz, and both channel drive) Stereo: 0.005% or less (a one side channel and less than peek 300W) Monophonic recording: 0.005% or less (it is attached to a one side channel and is less than peek 600W) Frequency band (at the time of 1W output) 20Hz - 20kHz, and +0 -0.25 dB 10Hz - 100kHz, and +0 -3.0 dB SN ratio 105dB or less (at the time of an Output power A Wei Ted) Dynamic head room 1.9dB(IHF) Dumping factor 40 or more Input impedance 20kohms (unbalance) 40kohms (equilibrium) Input sensitivity 2.5V and 1.4V switching Power guarding It is less than THD2% to over-drive 14dB at 1kHz. 2. Item: McIntosh MA252 Hybrid Integrated Amplifier Location: Melbourne Price: $5800 (RRP $7495). Donation to SNA on sale Item Condition: Mint with all packaging, manual & remote Reason for selling: Selling for friend Payment Method: Cash, Bank transfer or Paypal Extra Info: Recently released hybrid model combining the best of valve (preamp) and solid-state (power amp) circuit design in a visually and sonically stunning package. With a beautiful polished stainless steel chassis, McIntosh has taken retro design cues from its legendary tube power amps and incorporated modern conveniences like comprehensive remote control adjustments, overload protection and inbuilt phono stage. These features make the amplifier very flexible and easy to use, without sacrificing the musicality for which McIntosh is famous. Advanced high current output transistors are coupled to the heat sinks in a way which allegedly eliminates warm-up time. Bass, treble, tone bypass, balance and input offset levels can be adjusted using front panel knobs or remote control with an advanced microprocessor. All 4 inputs (1 pair balanced, 2 pairs RCA and 1 pair MM phono) can be electronically selected, labelled or adjusted and displayed on the OLED screen. While the valve front end imparts typical sweetness and warmth, the 100W RMS @ 8 ohms (160W RMS @ 4 ohms) output is enough to drive all but the most power hungry speakers. Several recently patented technologies have been included in this model, including "Power Guard, Sentry Monitor, High Drive (headphone amplifier) and Monogrammed Heatsinks" making it the best value McIntosh model ever produced. This particular unit is a virtually flawless example of the model and therefore a great option for someone wanting a versatile and beautifully made amplifier using current technologies, without the high price tag. As the original carton is included, freight at the buyer's expense is an option. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

Recently looked over by a service technician, no issues found but has been cleaned and RCA terminals have been polished. All in perfect working order, no noise, pops or cracks from dials. Item: McIntosh MA5200 Integrated Amplifier 2X 100 Watt Location: Sydney 2065 Price: $4,500 Item Condition: Like new Reason for selling: Moving overseas Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I am moving back to the United States and am selling all of my stereo equipment. I thought about shipping this to the US but am concerned about the transit as well as the current conversion. I bought this MA5200 from Klapp Audio in April 2016. I still have the original receipt. It has been used very little and is in excellent shape. No scratches, dings or marks. I still have the box as well as all of the paperwork. Local sale preferred but I would be happy to ship this item to the buyer's location in Australia using Pack N Send at buyers expense. Very happy to audition any of these items. I've bought and sold a few items on this site (Dynaudio and JBL speakers). I will also list these items on Gumtree. 12. Item: McIntosh MHA100 Headphone Amplifier Location: Len Wallis Audio HQ, 64 Burns Bay Road, Lane Cove NSW 2066 Price: $4499 Item Condition: Mint Payment Method: Cash, Credit Card, Pay Pal, Bank Transfer - no crypto currency at this stage Extra Info: Just traded standout headphone amplifier uses McIntosh's Autoformer technology to produce three headphone impedance ranges of 8-40, 40-150 and 150-600 ohms to suit a wide range of headphones. All digital inputs are up-sampled to 32-bit/192kHz resolution before going through the DAC. In addition it offers 50 watt stereo speaker outputs for speakers instead of your headphones; there is a "Power Guard" function that prevents clipping that might damage your headphones or speakers. Tone controls include a 5 Step Bass Boost Control for further customization. The entire unit is housed in a beautiful polished stainless steel chassis that not only compliments the classic glass front panel, knobs and brushed aluminum end caps, but also any room decor. - Put simply, it's just cool. There are many great reviews about this product on the inter-webs but we'd humbly suggest that if you're trying to make sense of spending four & half grand on a headphone amp - don't, this isn't about rational justification. This is a device created for the pure pleasure of music and the ownership experience. A little like a classic car or bike, it makes no real-sense in owning it but you just love it, every time you see it, every time you drive it. Pictures:

"Lacking any discernible flaws it struck me just how good of an amplifier this was. When a piece of equipment does not call attention to itself but rather gets out of music’s way to let it express its very nature you know it is on to something good. Song after song that was how it was with the McIntosh MC452." - Enjoy The Music "The McIntosh C2500 and MC452 excel at spectacular dynamic expression, beautiful and accurate tonality, satisfying detail retrieval, and the recreation of a generous sound field." - Audio Esoterica I'm also selling the accompanying McIntosh MX151 at $4,900 ($21,500 new) as well as a pair of brand new REVEL GEM 2's at $9,900 ($19,250 new), for the pair without stands. 15. Item: McIntosh MX151 AV Control Centre Location: Sydney Price: $4,900 Item Condition: Used, flawless Reason for selling: Upgraded to the MX160 Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Served as my AV Control/processor for several years - it never once let me down. The MX151 is a software upgraded version from the MX150, to include HDMI 3D passthrough. It's essentially the same as the MX160 ($24,000) but doesn't do ATMOS, 4K etc., but pretty much everything else. Still have original packaging as well as manuals and all gear associated with Mac's stunning Room Perfect implementation. While McIntosh refers to the MX150 as a control center, it is first and foremost an A/V processor. The look of the MX150 is classic McIntosh with a glass front panel and symmetric controls surrounding a bright blue fluorescent display. The MX150 is a great-looking piece of equipment and it is especially beautiful in a darkened room. The glass panel is illuminated by LEDs paired with fiber optic light diffusers. All of the controls on the front panel have a very precise feel and the volume knob is wonderfully smooth in operation. Under the display are a series of yellow indicators which show the channels received in the input audio stream and the channels that are output from the processor. The other four indicators under the display show whether the MX150 is receiving an analog signal, a digital signal, a high resolution audio signal, and whether the RoomPerfect system is engaged. The rear panel of the MX150 supports an amazing array of components and connections. The processor supports two zones and references to “ZA” and “ZB” refer to Zone A and Zone B, respectively. The MX150 receiver supports five HDMI 1.3 inputs and one HDMI 1.3 output. This is enough to handle a satellite or cable receiver / DVR, a Blu-ray player and a gaming system with two inputs to spare. The MX150 supports a full complement of analog audio and video inputs with five component video inputs, two composite video inputs, two S-Video inputs, 9 sets of stereo analog RCA inputs including one with a precision phono preamplifier, and a 7.1 multi-channel input. The MX150 supports nine digital audio inputs (four coaxial, four optical and one balanced AES/EBU). For balanced analog audio, the MX150 includes two sets of XLR stereo inputs. http://www.ultrahighendreview.com/mcintosh-mx151-av-control-center/ Pictures: (Note picture is of my MX160 - the 151 is boxed in the garage, but looks identical)

  17. Hi I tried to get some pics and a bit of info on some of the rooms, I'll have to keep updating over the next few days. Sorry if any spelling is wrong or names or prices. I should be able to present a half decent overview though. I'll just say once that all comments are to my ears, i didn't use anyone else at the show. And all opinions are mine I am not writing about any one else. If you have a question let me know I may be able to come up with an answer. Rooms are in no particular order. First up is this huge room with huge JBL and huge Melody electronics. This was a large scale sound. Big bass but just because you can have big bass doesn't mean you should. I felt it smeared into the rest of the sound. I perhaps can see why some like it but for me it was underwhelming. They seem to be making things bigger these days and then charger more.

  20. Item: McIntosh MHA100 Location: Canberra Price: $5400 - can post at your cost in the original box and packaging. RRP is $7995 Item Condition: As new - the amp presents as new, there are no marks and it works perfectly. Reason for selling: I have too many hifi toys and I'm trying to consolidate. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash Post - Paypal (add 2.5%) or bank deposit Extra Info: The MHA100 is not only a headphone amplifier it's a fully featured amplifier and preamp with a surperb DAC. While McIntosh markets this as a headphone amp it's been way over engineered in true McIntosh style. The 50watt of McIntosh power at 8ohm is plenty for powering any bookshelf speakers and even floorstanders as long as you aren't looking to drive them at ear splitting volumes. ELECTRONIC SPECIFICATIONS • POWER OUTPUT PER CHANNEL 50 Watts • SPEAKER IMPEDANCE 8 Ohms • RATED POWER BAND 20Hz to 20kHz • TOTAL HARMONIC DISTORTION 0.005% There are plenty of reviews out there that will say the same thing - I've personally driven my Vienna Accoustic Beethoven Concert Grand floorstanders with it over Christmas (as I didn't want to leave my mc275 valves running for long periods) and it was more than up to the task. It's also a full featured preamp and DAC if you want to add more watts later on and the output meters continue to work while in preamp mode unlike other McIntosh integrated amps. DIGITAL AUDIO SPECIFICATIONS • DIGITAL COAXIAL INPUT SAMPLE RATE 16Bit, 24Bit - 32kHz to 192kHz • DIGITAL OPTICAL INPUT SAMPLE RATE 16Bit, 24Bit - 32kHz to 192kHz • DIGITAL AES/EDU INPUT SAMPLE RATE 16Bit, 24Bit - 32kHz to 192kHz • DIGITAL USB INPUT SAMPLE RATE 16Bit, 24Bit, 32Bit - 32kHz to 192kHz Oh yeah - it's headphone amp too! And a full featured one at that. With McIntosh autoformer technology driving the phones section you get three impedance bands at two output voltages to drive your choice of 'cans to perfection.
