  1. I'm looking to get some good headphones and a headphone amp to connect them to. I could just plug headphones into my Yamaha R-N602, however I want to explore and hear the differences in various set-ups. Also my Kefs don't have the bass for a lot of my 90s and 00s music I'm finding. Trouble is I have no idea where to begin or what to look for. My local hifi are pointing me at a second hand $450 Musical Fidelity X-Cans headphone amplifier, but I'm not sure if that's the right brand and device to go for. Not to mention, would still need some headphones to go with it. Budget is in the $1-2k range.
  2. Further information: Make and Model – Definitive Technology Symphony 1 Closed Back Wireless Headphones: Barely used; No longer being made; Wireless and active noise cancelling; Can be used wired; Has microphone Background: After seemingly losing my Bose QC25 Headphones (they were behind the couch) I went on a search for a replacement and discovered Hi-Fi. However, sitting in shops for hours on end for testing wasn't working. I decided to buy (when on sale so I didn't lose too much on the resell) and do AB testing at home to find the sound signature that I liked the most, both for an everyday/out and about pair and a high-end at home pair of headphones, along with associated DAC/amps. This process has lasted approximately a year and I'm now selling off most of what I have. Sound: None of what I'm selling are in and of themselves poor performers. If I'm selling any set of headphones or DAC/amps it's because I prefer a different sound signature. Condition: I've done the hard yards and all headphones and amps I'm selling on StereoNet have been burnt in for at least 50 hours. For the most part the burn in process has occurred when playing throughout the day when I'm at work, rather than on my head (no comment on whether burn is a thing or not). Naturally they've all spent a number of hours on my head but have all been wiped down as per the manufacturer's instructions and are in essentially new condition unless stated otherwise under the make and model below. I cannot claim to be able to re-wrap/pack cables as good as those in the factory, and some items plastic protective films have been removed, but I can't remember those that have. They may have minor amounts of dust present no matter how hard I tired with physical and air dusters. Shipping: Is not included in the price unless stated otherwise or any negotiations take place. If you choose to pick up directly, the price is the price and there will be no drop due to the item not having been posted (unless stated otherwise). Shipping is just within Australia. For express post items I can't guarantee next day delivery due to my working hours, but I will endeavour to get them to you ASAP. 6. Item: Looking for a set of cheaper Grado Headphones, something like the sr60, 80, 125, or maybe something else if its a good deal. Price Range: Preferably less than $100, but open to spending more if its a more expensive set. Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: Not super fussy on anything, really just interested in trying out a set. Have heard they have a relatively distinctive sound, so want to try one of their cheaper sets before spending too much on something i may or may not like.
  7. Item:Grado RS-1 Price Range: $350 Item Condition: Used Extra Info: Looking for a Grado RS1. Not the RS1i or RS1e. I'm looking for the RS-1 Cheers
  8. Hi there, up for sale is a pair of mint condition Dan Clark Audio (a.k.a 'MrSpeakers') Aeon Flow Open planar-magnetic headphones. I'm the only owner of these, having bought them directly from their San Diego Factory while visiting in early 2019 (Dan is a lovely guy, BTW). They're in perfect cosmetic and operating condition having been babied like all the rest of my gear. It will be sold with the full retail packaging and all accessories including: - Retail Box - Hard clamshell portable case - 3 x tuning inserts to give different 'EQ' flavours to the sound - Microfibre polishing cloth - Certificate of authenticity - I will be selling with 2 x upgrade cables: a 4-pin XLR cable (worth $100USD), and the 'Vivo' silver plated OFHC copper 3.5mm upgrade cable (worth $299 USD) I've enjoyed my time immensely with these cans, they're quite literally the most comfortable audiophile headphones in existence with their exquisite pads, light weight, and terrific suspension-strap + Nitinol memory wire headband system. The sound signature is warm, inviting, with terrific planar bass extension and slam. I can say with confidence that they're very much the upgrade to the Sennheiser HD650 sound, with great technicalities. I'm looking to consolidate my collection some, and I'm looking to replace a few headphones with the HD800s, as I prefer a detailed, treble-oriented signature. Let me know if you have any questions, these will make a great all-rounder for anyone looking to get into planars or who appreciates an inviting, warm sound signature. 9. Further information: Clearing out some inventory - turns out I haven't used this in a over a year. They're in excellent condition, and pads are still excellent. I have too many headphones, so clearing out some space. Photos:
  10. Further information: Hey, thanks for taking a look. I'll probably regret this in a couple of month's time, but I've decided to let my beloved ZMF Eikons move on to somewhere where they're going to get a lot more head-time. I'm the first and only owner of these, having bought them directly from ZMF in January 2018. At the time Zach at ZMF had released a limited edition run of "Barnyard" oxidised Cherry Wood Eikon + Atticus, and I knew it was time to jump on a pair having auditioned both at a local Sydney meet. They're a great match with both low-impedance solid state and OTL tube amplifiers, and respond VERY well to parametric EQ. I've loved the natural timbre and sweet balance of detail and organic tone, but I'm working from home these days and I'm looking to move to a TOTL open-back headphone - I'll happily consider a trade for a great-condition Sennheiser HD800s or Audio Technica ATH-ADX5000. The wood finish looks superb in real life, photographs don't really do it justice - they're in essentially brand-new condition having been absolutely babied and always stored in their case. They'll be sold in their original ZMF Pelican waterproof travel-case; 2 x stock cables (3.5mm and 6.3mm) and an upgrade OFC cable (6.3mm). Happy to answer any questions, thanks for looking. 23. Item: HifiMan Edition X V2 Planar Magnetic Headphones Location: Sydney (Blacktown) Price: $750 (optional - $850 with Stand/XLR Cable) Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Not working right now, need cash Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: For me the HEX V2's are an end game headphone or at least one part of an end game collection, the sound quality of the HEX V2's are amazing and fun to listen to across all genres (I listen to a lot of Hip-Hop, Classical, Electronic, Guitar). Mids are euphoric sounding, bass is tight and deep for an open back and the treble is sparkly but never sharp, tested a lot of headphones but decided on the HEX V2's for all round listening pleasure. They really shine on a good set up, but even run off portable setups very nicely due to the low power draw. Excellent/Mint condition, purchased new a couple of years ago, never had any issues, they were not used as often as I would have liked as I generally listen to my portable setup (Sony DAP + Westones) and have other headphones for computer/gaming, as well as Fostex Closed Back (not selling atm) to drown out noisy room mates. I can include the custom XLR cable, and the stand as an option. +$100 (https://www.minidisc.com.au/audioquest-perch-headphone-stand) If there are any questions or you need more photos let me know! https://www.headphone.guru/hifiman-edition-x-v2-planar-magnetic-headphones/ https://headfonics.com/2016/12/the-edition-x-v2-by-hifiman/ https://www.avhub.com.au/product-reviews/hi-fi/hifiman-edition-x-v2-headphones-488590 Photos:
