  1. OPPO 105D New in box unused present from a relative, I removed it from the box, checked it out and replaced it back in the box, its been there for a long time. I have never used it, and only fired it up today and it seems fine. If you what a new one here it is. It has multi region installed and looks to have barbee, whatever that is. Its printed on the machine and the remote. 2. Further information: Selling Sansui AU-222 which has been fully recapped and serviced by an audio professional (tubularbells) and the full service & recap alone costs me close to $400. In addition, I replaced old rusty top panel with plywood side panels and brand new 3mm thick custom acrylic plate on top so it can be seen inside (I love seeing amp inside). Side panels painted with gloss black and top edge left without painting where acrylic plate sits on so I can see plywood grain. I love this type of DIY look but if new owner does not like the plywood grain to be shown on top then simply paint the edge and it will be all black with clear acrylic plate on top. And, I added plywood panel as base isolation panel. This base panel actually can be put on top of amp as top panel and has 2 screw holes on sides but I found that acrylic clear top panel looks much nicer so use it as base isolation panel. Speaker terminals are replaced with Banana Plug terminals so can accomodate both bare wire, spades or banana plugs. Side panels are as high as front panels so when top panel sits on top, there are enough ventilation at the back. I played the amp 10 hour straight and top acrylic panel does not even become warm at all so no need to punch ventilation holes. It is pretty much new amp with vintage look and sounds awesome. I am happy to keep this amp if it does not sell but lack of space and funding for another purchase. [FREE BONUS #1] A pair of Full Range speakers (see photos). I got the cabinets from fellow forum members and installed brand new 8" full range drivers that i purchased from Altrsonics store. I found that sounds full and natural sounding after breaking in and matches well with Sansui Amp hence adding this as a bonus for new owner. The speaker cabinet painting is not optimal and I recommend repainting it to have clean professional look later stage. [FREE BONUS #2] Vintage Pioneer PD-Z73T Dual CD Player is included as a Bonus. It sounds surprisingly pleasant and matches well with amp and speaker combo. All functions works well and it just added new aluminium acoustic feet to help reducing further against floor vibration. NOTE: The table that amp sits on is not included. It is my wife's that I borrowed to take a photo. If you want this type of table, you can grab it from Kmart at low cost. Here is the details of recent service done on this amp. SANSUI AU-222 Work performed: Diagnosed and repaired left channel issue Full recap of all electrolytic capacitors with high grade Nichicon UFG series (31 in total) Replaced noisy 4 trimmer pots with high quality Bourns multi-turn precision trimmers Replaced 4 (mismatched) output transistors Re-calibrated output level & bias as per factory specs Reassembled and tested General Comments: Basically a new amp internally so will take some time to settle in and sound its best) Labor: 6 hours And, here is the full range driver specs. Full Range 8" C2000A 8 Ohm 10W Dual Cone PA Speaker Driver Specs Input Power: 5 Watts RMS Max Input Power: 10 Watts Impedance: 8Ω Resonant Frequency: 80Hz Frequency Response: 80Hz - 18kHz SPL (1w @ 1m): 92dB Thank you for looking and hope it goes to a good home. 3. Further information:This is a stunning genuine mid century danish cabinet in brazilian rosewood purchased from great dane furniture many years ago. This is an awesome piece and I will be very sad to see it go as I have had it for around 15 years. It has beautiful burr maple veneer in the 2 compartments on the left and an ebonized shelf on the right and beautiful brass hardware. I have used this as a hifi cabinet at times as the panel on the rear at the right can be easily unscrewed this gives you the most stylish, well made hifi cabinet around. This is a vintage piece and has a few marks and scratches but is in very good condition (pics are very representative) and is a steal at this price. The dimensions for the cabinet are Width 117cm Depth 44cm Height 67cm R upper shelf Width 55cm Height 19.5cm Depth 43cm R lower shelf Width 55cm Height 13cm Depth 43cm R lower doored compartment Width 54.5cm Height 25.5cm Depth 43cm L upper doored compartment Width 55cm Height 35cm Depth 43cm L lower doored compartment Width 55cm Height 25.5cm Depth 43cm Pickup only from st kilda east/balaclava. will fit in most small hatches easily. 4. Further information: 4 x Celestion HF1300 15ohm Square face midrange/tweeter also used in "Rogers Studio 1" model. They have original mounting gaskets and all measure around 12ohms DCR +- 0.3ohms Check the photo's for condition.. there are what appears to be fine hair line fractures off of many of the screw and mounting holes on the face plate... But on much closer inspection, you can see that they derived from the mold/casting process... thought I'd mention it for those with an eye for detail ! Photos:
  5. Further information: Purchased new by me. This is in very good condition with a couple of marks here and there. A very competent HT amplifier that I used with lots of Legend speakers and they require a bit of current to get going. The Denon didn't seemed to be fazed by the Legend speakers and drove them quite competently. Includes instructions, remote, microphone, aerial. No box so pick up only. 6. Further information: Purchased new by me from Audio Solutions in Mascot. Perfect condition with no marks on the player that I can see. Wonderful machine as most people know already so really no need to waft on about it. It comes with instructions, remote, USB thingy and nothing else. No box. This is pick up only from early next week - w/b 27/07. 7. Further information: Paradigm cc590 v5 Black ash, in mint conditions, barely used, no marks damages or scratches, sounds great but I'm more into 2 ch nowadays... reluctant sale but extra funds will help a project.. I no longer have the original box, but I can arrange packing and shipping at buyer expenses Photos: PLEASE READ If you are advertising multiple items, you must post one bulk price only, or post seperate ads for each item If you include any reference to pricing whatsoever in this section (excluding RRP), your ad will not be approved If you don't include photographs of the actual item being sold, your ad will not be approved
  8. Further information: Set of black Spendor BC1's for sale. Overall in great condition. All drivers in great working condition. Cabinets have no corner damages. Little fraying on one of the grill covers. Crossovers have been recapped with matched high quality polypropylene capacitors. A set of beautiful sounding classics with one of the nicest mid-ranges you will hear. Stands are not included. Photos:
  9. Further information: Incredible tube, one of the best! I bought it based on the famous Dubstep Girls 5U4G recommendation. Used in my Woo Audio WA6, which is also for sale...magic!!! Reads as follows: British tube made by GEC/MWT/Marconi/Osram, etc. I've also seen it branded under Mullard or Brimar. It should be compatible with most 5U4G amps (I have confirmed compatible with Woo WA22 and Stratus). Mine has grey plates but I've also seen black plates as well as black base versions of this tube. Compared to the Western Electric 422A, I think this would be the second best rectifier tube available. Performance is almost the same as the Western Electric 422A, perhaps only being a little warmer and having a more euphonic tone/timbre/decay. However, it maintains its speed, transparency, layering, soundstage, and imaging. Like the WE422A, it's pretty much nearly perfect in every way and maintains a sort of neutrality throughout. Warm tube sound but with extended air and treble, great staging, deep bass extension, very nice texture and decay as well. Absolutely zero grain with this tube, just like the WE422A, one of the best tubes out there! Sound-wise, it's very similar and shares the same British tone and sound signature of the GEC 6AS7G power tubes. Great synergy with Sennheiser HD 800. Just like the WE422A, this tube can really bring you to tears on the right music, so much magic in the sound of legendary tubes. Price is slightly cheaper than the 422A. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/dubstep-girls-massive-5ar4-5r4-5u4g-rectifier-review-comparison-rectifer-tube-rolling-thread.694525/ Photos: PLEASE READ If you are advertising multiple items, you must post one bulk price only, or post seperate ads for each item If you include any reference to pricing whatsoever in this section (excluding RRP), your ad will not be approved If you don't include photographs of the actual item being sold, your ad will not be approved
  10. Further information: This is the sub matching the main speakers from M8 Audio (Rocket 5.1 Super Resolution) which I am also selling separately. They should really go as a system but I have decided to sell separately as they work absolutely beautifully also individually (the speakers) or matched to other brands (the speakers and the sub). The SubOneTen is a current model retailing for $2,400 AUD, designed in Denmak and manufactured in Australia by @m8audio. Here is a link to the website and specs: https://m8audio.com/product/sub-oneten/ And this is a review I wrote for Mark when I got the sub, which is available on its website too: The Sub One Ten replaced a REL T5i in my system. The sound upgrade was immediately obvious, with a much faster and deeper bass presentation. The sound is also less boxy and integrates beautifully with my speakers, the Rocket 5.1, which were far too fast for the REL to keep up with. Finishing and aesthetics are also top notch. I cannot think of any other subwoofer brand offering such a great combination of sound quality, speed and aesthetics, especially at this price point. The sub presents in excellent conditions, with only a couple of minor marks only visible on very close inspection. I have all the original packaging (fancy fabric bag and cut-to-shape hard foam inserts) except the cardboard box, which I have lost. For this reason pick up is preferred, however I could easily get a heavy duty cardboard box made to measure by Pack and Send if required. Photos:
  11. Further information: These are gorgeous, extremely compact and exceptionally well built bookshelf speakers designed in Denmark and made in Australia by @m8audio. This is a current model, retailing for $2,800 AUD and built without compromises. The cabinets are incredibly heavy, extensively braced and with virtually no parallel surfaces, so there are no resonances at all. The drivers and crossovers use among the best components on the market. Please refer to the specs on the website: https://m8audio.com/product/rocket-5-1/ On top of that, these are gorgeous and have he highest WAF possibly achievable. They present in good condition, with one of the two speakers being as new and the other one having a small mark on its side which was touched up with the original paint, however this is still visible on close inspection (see photo). They also come with pre installed wall brackets, should you want to put them on a wall. After owning a wide range of brands and models, including Magnepan 1.7s , ATC SCM40, Wilson Benesch Discovery and Bowers & Wilkins 805 D3, I landed almost by chance on the incredible products manufactured by Mark and found these superior by a good margin to everything I had tried before. I started with a pair of Rocket 4.1, the predecessor of the speakers I am selling, which was only a prototype. This is a review I wrote for Mark at the time, if you are interested in my subjective impressions. This is a review of the Rocket 4.1, not the 5.1. The 4.1 is a prototype of the 5.1 which did not go in production. It uses basically the same cabinets of the 5.1, but has inferior drivers. Yet, as you will read, they sound absolutely incredible. Mark explained that once he realised how expensive was to build the speaker's cabinet, he decided it deserved better drivers than those originally selected and installed in the 4.1 prototype (which I am reviewing here). I purchased a pair or Rocket 4.1 without having ever auditioned these speakers, nor any other speakers from M8 Audio before. I bought them for their small size to organise a near field set up in a room much smaller than the one I was using before. The incredible looks and superior finish came as a bonus. Before these speakers I had owned Martin Logan, Magnepan, ATC, Harbeth and Wilson Benesch speakers. As soon as I set them up I was very impressed by their incredible clarity, detail, punch (for the size), and imaging. The addition of a good subwoofer simply made this set-up the best I have ever owned, prompting me to start a search of an adequate amplifier. I drove the 4.1s initially with a Naim Supernait 2, and then with a Primaluna Dialogue. They responded very well to both solid state and tube amplification, and are also very responsive to any changes in the sources (I had never fully appreciated how different DACs can affect the sound before owning the 4.1s). The curiosity to test how different amplifiers sounded with these speakers took me to what is possibly the best known, ultra hi-end hi-fi shop in Sydney. I took the speakers with me. While I was auditioning the amplifier I was interested in, the shop owner and two senior staff members could not stop praising the speakers and ask me questions about the manufacturer. 'Gobsmacked','unbelievable', 'shockingly good' are some of the words they used to describe the speakers. The owner in particular, who has been in the ultra hi end industry for at least a couple of decades, said he'd never heard anything like that from speakers of a similar size, regardless of the price, and he said he'd tested speakers that were tens of thousands of $$ worth. Right now I am very happy with my system, which is in itself something that happens rarely, but I hope to be able to try different models from M8Audio soon. Mark, the owner of M8Audio, was always extremely helpful and has promptly addressed any of my queries regarding placement, set up and amplification via email and telephone. I change my audio gear very often, but I cannot see myself moving to another speaker brand anytime soon Later down the track Mark came at my place and demoed a few of his best models. They sounded absolutely great but my room at the time was a bit small, so I decided to upgrade the speakers to the same-sized small Rocket 5.1 Super Resolution, and the sub to the matching M8Audio Sub OneTen. The synergy between the sub and the speakers was seamless and the presentation became even fuller, faster, and extremely detailed. I have lived with this system for over one year now, which is by far the longest time a system has lasted at my place. With the COVID isolation thing I started to get a bit restless and contacted Mark for an upgrade to the Maxwell series. Mark informed me that unfortunately at the moment the production has halted due to COVID (he has moved his lab back to Denmark before COVID but he is currently stuck here in Oz), so decided to temporarily try something different and went for a pair of Revel M106 with their sub. I will probably go back to M8 Audio as soon as Mark is able to restart its supply. I am also selling a pair of suitable stands from Q Acoustic (you will need a stand with a very small top plate if you want them to look their best), and the matching sub-woofer. I have all original packaging but pick up is preferred (with masks and social distancing).

  13. Further information: These were close to the top of Epicur'e range and the satisfyn sound reflects this. Paper drivers, dome tweeter two pairs per speaker. Two are at the front identical pair on the right hand side of the cabinet also behind a grill. So four speakers per speaker behind two grills. The M202 are really easy to drive and have amazed me and my audio buddies run by my Leak Stereo 20 and Radford STA25. They go high in the treble and deep in the bass. Midrange is huge and transparent. Plenty of info on the forums about these. My pair are in 9/10 condition. Drives including surrounds are in excellent condition. 15. Further information: Schiit Asgard 2 for sale in 'as new' condition. Has been paired with a set of HD 6XX's and sounds great. Only selling as I have integrated a Modi 2U into my system and got a Magni 2U to match. Comes with power cable. Please feel free to reach out for extra info Photos:
  16. Further information: I purchased this recently from eBay, but it arrived with a few issues: The internal plastic tab that keeps the deck in record mode is broken. I have the broken part, which could possibly be super-glued or 3d printed. The unit works without it, but it means that you must keep the record lever pressed in whilst recording. FF/RWD doesn't always engage first time. Everything else seems to be fine, but this unit will require a service and a little TLC. Comes with lid, strap and a/c adapter (euro plug) I recently ordered some nice 5" aluminium reels from the USA, and will forward these on to the buyer when they arrive (cost $150 landed). Photos:
  17. Further information: Pick up available at Ultimo NSW2007 office hours or Lindfield NSW2070 after hours and weekends. Postage $15 flat. 21. Further information: The Oppo PM2 is a very refined sounding planar magnetic open back. With sleek looks and tight tolerances in the build the pm2 has being a pleasure to look and wear. The sound is warm with well extended bass, clear mids and soft highs. No wear and tear apart from a slight bit of scuffing on the underside of the height adjustment band. Selling as it isn't getting much use. All accessories and box is included. 22. Further information: Pristine condition Roxanne Xerxes with no plinth sag. Comes with Rega RB250 tonearm and brand new Ortofon 2M blue cartridge. A real reluctant sale. I'd rate condition for this 1994 (approx) model with serial number 4717 as 9/10. Photos:
  23. Item Condition: Very good Shipping Options: Pickup available but audition is not available.,Shipping is included in price. Suburb or Town: Kingaroy State: Queensland Payment Method: PayPal + fees, cash or bank transfer Reason for selling: Going simple integrated route for wife/bub Item: Supratek Syrah Preamp -- WITH PHONO This was up as an eoi (then a for sale which I also withdrew...) which I withdrew but I've decided to simplify the system with bubby here now for a 1 button startup. I know it won't sound as good but need it to be simple so it actually gets used by the family. This Preamp is reasonably old as the Syrah was built prior to 2010, however this particular unit went to Mick (Supratek) for a service last year, and ended up with a complete internal rebuild, and additional features installed, so the case is old, but internally it is brand new, build to the pretty much same spec as a new Cortese that will cost $6500 + 6 month wait. Even has a brand new umbilical cord. Only improvement on this for a new build is to add the LCR phono stage which adds $1700 (from memory) to the cost, but you can buy this phono stage seperate anyway, and then run 2 turntables! (A man can dream right?) It also has balance control, home theatre bypass, tape monitor, and dual outputs. The home theatre option is a switch on the top, so you can use it bypassed or not (I.e Use as a normal input for anything) you can also use it in bypass mode with the pre off, so you don't have to waste valve life for TV etc, or teach the Mrs and Kids how to turn it on too. It is all Single Ended (RCA) as having XLR reduced the number of plugs you get and these sound better on RCA. (My Last Cortese had both and I really didn't like the XLR anyway) There are minor marks in the chrome, but no chips/actual damage, and the timber is perfect I should mention there is a crack in the plastic power button but doesn't affect use. I also have original Supratek Packing to send it safely anywhere in the country. (Or any country... but don't really want to ship overseas I need to know where it is so I can buy it back later after all haha..) Lastly I should mention the power supply chassis is a slightly darker timber to the main unit, but this never bothered me. It is a little hard to tell in the photo. I also have the option to supply it with a pair of Shuguang Black Treasure 6CA7's and the PSVane 6SN7SE that are all the rage from America. Nearly $1k to buy new if you can get anyone to ship them at the moment. These will only be available separately if someone wants the Pre without them.590ax Pictured with standard tubes but I'll try and get a picture up with the others shortly. Save yourself $3k and grab a bargain PS. Also happy to look at a swap with cash your way for a Luxman L550/590ax Photos:
  24. This is the AudioShield - AS100 Basic Style Dust Cover that fits VPI turntable and others. It is used, but in great condition. The picture below is of it sitting on a non VPI turntable for show and a picture of one on a VPI turntable.
  25. Purchased new from authorised AudioQuest dealer. Second from the top model from AudioQuest. Component video provides a significantly better picture than other analog connections, like composite or S-video. Its greater color bandwidth results in clearer color reproduction with less bleeding. AudioQuest's YIQ-3 delivers sharp detail and accurate, lifelike colors from your video source. CinemaQuest YIQ component video cables include three identical maximum performance coaxial cables, one for each of the three component signals; the “Y” (b&w) signal and the “I” and “Q” signals (also known as Pb and Pr), which contain all the color information. In the two channel S- video system (also known as Y/C), the “I” and “Q” component signals are combined to create a single “C” signal. When available, a three channel component signal is better because it avoids the degradation caused by the process of combining and separating. YIQ-3 uses a 6.1% Silver Center Conductor (6.1% SPC) insulated with Hard Cell Foam (HCF). Normal 1.25% silver-plate greatly improves high frequency performance for a fraction of the cost of solid silver. A 6.1% silver conductor is much closer to all silver, still for a fraction of the cost. Nitrogen Injected HCF reduces distortion caused by the insulating material. The combination Copper foil and Silver- Plated braid shield provides 100% protection coverage and lower distortion. Gold-Plated RCA, BNC or D- Sub 15 connectors are professionally attached with superior AudioQuest solder.
