  1. Hey guys, I've got a bunch of things to get rid of as I may be leaving the country for work in a few months! That and I need a bit of a shift in my system due to the way I use it. If you guys see issues with my prices please let me know! I'd prefer pick up, however postage can be arranged as I have almost all of the boxes. (Will post pictures tomorrow evening!) 1- Sonique Diamond 550 SE's in Jarrah $1900.00 ($2799.00 retail!) http://www.sonique.com.au/hifi/diamond.htm 2- Rega P3 Yellow (P3 not Planar 3 or RP3 or P3/24) with Bias 2 cartidge $450.00 http://www.drhifi.net.au/Reviews/Rega%20P3%20Review/Rega%20P3%20Review.htm 3- Creek OBH-21 with OBH-2 PSU $200.00 http://www.head-fi.org/t/25578/info-on-creek-obh-21-and-obh-21-se-amps 4- Energy ESW-C8 $250.00 http://www.energy-speakers.com/subwoofers/?sku=ESW-C8 Incredible sub for small rooms! Great reviews! 5- Sennheiser RS-120 $120.00 http://www.sennheiser.com.au/au/home_en.nsf/root/private_headphones_hifi_wireless-headphones_504779 It's some great gear! With the speakers I'll include a pair of 5m (?) Tara Labs Omni speaker cable with Banana plugs for convenience! With the sub I'll include my 5m Tara Labs coax lead (I think it's a higher end video one, but can't remember) Anyways, would prefer pick up, you can also come and have a listen providing we set up a time! As I have sold my amp, you'd probably have to bring yours. Cheers! -Andrew
  2. Hey everyone i noticed some speakers on gumtree recently. They are JPW ML-1010 floorstanding speakers. Rated at 150w, English made. $200 I was thinking, would they be better than my current set? which is a pair of Energy XL-25's. Thanks
  3. Item: Energy Veritas V1.8 Speakers cherry timber Location: Maitland Area 2322 NSW Price: $2000 Item Condition:Good Cond Reason for selling: too many speakers Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, bank deposit Extra Info: A brilliant sounding speaker ,these don t pop up for sale often you will be blown away by how good they are ,i bought them of a friend when the opportunity came up. grab a bargain have original boxes . 4. Item: HiVi Swans Diva 6.2HT - A high end, CES award-winning 5.1 Home Theatre System that would still set you back about 6k new. Consists of Swans Diva 6.2F Floorstanders, Swans Diva 5.2R Centre Channel, Swans Diva 5.2R Bi-Polar Rears and a Swans Diva Sub60 Subwoofer. Now throwing in the Energy sub too. Location: Sydney -- they're in Maroubra right now, but may be moved to storage in the lower north shore area if not bought soon. Price: $1800 for the set. I'll include an Energy e:XL S-12 subwoofer for FREE an additional $150 (so $1950 total with both the Swans and the Energy subwoofers). The Energy alone would easily sell for $350-400 on its own, and the Floorstanders are worth 1000 easy. Grab yourself a bargain, this is a fraction of RRP. Item Condition (pictures attached): Sounds fantastic, drivers are immaculate. Good condition and presents very well overall: I do believe 90%+ of buyers on here would not hesitate to give this pride of place in a primary (or secondary if you're full-on speaker mad) home theatre system. The offer of the Energy Subwoofer more than compensates for the shortcomings of the Swans subwoofer (as described below). There are some signs of wear if you look closely, and I have tried to document them as best I can within the pictures. I've included a fairly comprehensive and rather nit-picky list of signs of wear below: Swans Diva 6.2F Floorstanders: These have a few light scratches on the sides, which would likely be easily sorted with a polish application. A few small holes in the grilles. I'll upload some videos if I can to better show the condition (secondary camera in use at the moment due to mini phone meltdown, so bear with me regarding video quality). Swans Diva 5.2R Centre Channel: One midrange driver surround has some fading to it, but is intact. You can choose to refoam or not, up to you. Needless to say, you're not missing out and they still look great. I'm even happy to do a refoam for you if you really want! Swans Diva 5.2R Bi-Polar Rears:One of them has a chip on the black part of the paintwork. The other has one speaker peg hole with a bit of plastic caught in it: that being said, the corresponding grille has all of its pegs intact. Swans Diva Sub60 Subwoofer: The downward-firing driver has been removed, while the front-firing one is still present. This is the weak link in the system: hence my offer to include an additional top of the line Energy Subwoofer for a small amount extra ($150 is well under half its fair used market value). The Energy e:XL S12 Subwoofer is in great condition, and is superior in terms of frequency response: it will do 20Hz at -3db. Reason for selling: I'd rather have someone use them than have them sit in storage. Bought too much gear for my own good in the last 3 months: you'll see a small selection in the background of the pics here. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash after thorough testing and inspection. I want you to be happy with them, so we'll go through it all. It's beautiful gear that speaks for itself, just have a listen! 6. The February 2016 meeting of the Sydney Audio Club sees us once again gather for an afternoon of fine music, great sound and amicable company. Each month, the Sydney Audio Club presents high end audio systems for our members and guests. It's a bit like a private audio show once a month where you can hear and discuss equipment that you might not otherwise have the chance to audition. And you can bring along your own music to test the capabilities of the system or to just share with like-minded music lovers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. For our February meeting we will be evaluating various ways to get a digital signal into your system. Does a CD ripped to disc sound better than the CD itself? Does a music server sound better than a computer audio solution (ie. music player software running on a PC or Mac)? Does an inexpensive solution like the Popcorn Hour stack up against either of the above? We’ll ensure the digital signal is sent to the same DAC in all setups, and that the rip to disc and the rip to flash are sourced from the same CD. And we’ll try to ensure the volume levels are the same across all setups. The event is meant to be fun and entertaining as well as informative… but we won’t be drawing any indisputable conclusions from these evaluations!! However, you may walk away with ideas you can then try at home. These are the setups we’ll have available on the day: Oppo BDP105 playing from a USB flash drive Oppo BDP105 playing the CD layer Wyred 4 Sound (W4S) Music Server Mac Mini music player (playing Pure Music V3) Popcorn Hour C300 That’s a lot of configuration changes and a lot of listening so we may not get through it all. We’ll take hints from the audience and listen to what people are most interested in. But we expect the preferences to be close to the order of the setups as shown above. Details of the system…. Wyred 4 Sound (W4S) Music Server – Refer to http://www.deephzaudio.com/Wyred%204%20sound%20Price%20Page%20Australia.html Oppo BDP-105 Universal player – The ubiquitous universal player with the excellent ESS Sabre 32 DACs. These were last at the club back in February 2015. The second half of the music sessions will be our popular BYO. Members and guests are welcome to offer music to share with us all. So bring along your favourite music on CD/SACD or USB flash drive (sorry, no vinyl this month). All we ask is that the music and recordings be interesting. We'll ask you to tell us a little about the artist/recording before it is played. Tracks over 6 minutes will be faded out, to give everyone a fair go. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned veteran, you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and share your experiences with others of a similar mind. Guests are always welcome – we are a very friendly club so you don't need to know anyone to join us for an afternoon of fine music and sound. We will welcome you at the door. Venue: Epping Creative Centre, Dence Park Address: 26 Stanley Road, Epping When: Sunday 14th February 2016 Doors open 1pm Meeting starts at 2pm Best regards, Tom Waters President Sydney Audio Club www.sydneyaudioclub.org.au tomwaters@sydneyaudioclub.org.au
