  12. Item: Pair of RCA 5692 Red Base Valves Location: Ballarat, Victoria Price: $80 the pair not including postage Item Condition: Very good - unsure of hours but functioning and sounding great Reason for selling: My valve pre doesn't use 6SN7's Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, COD, Bank Transfer Extra Info: The holy grail of the 6SN7 variety, I have had this pair of 5692's for a good few years and have barely used them. I bought them as a pair off ebay, I think. I recall using them briefly in my Weston pre with excellent results and then Grizzly had them for some time and reported the same improvement in his Weston compared to the standard Tung-Sols. I'm unsure how many hours are on these but they're said to be good for 10,000 hours anyway. Pick up in Ballarat or postage at cost, will probably be a tenner or so. Pictures:

  24. Further Information: All tubes collected from ebay over the years. If memory serves, all were bought as NOS besides the TungSol which was marginal. Have been stored in a pet free/smoke free environment. The pictures have additional information and tests results. Any test results from the Sylvania 139 were performed in Brisbane by SNA member Benjet. They were tested very quickly as a favor. So give or take a few points, but all passed with no leaks. No cracked bases that I can detect. 7x Sylvania 6SN7GT "BadBoy" 3 holes in each plate, copper grid posts, bottom getter, green labels, black base and plates, vertical date code, 'polished' silvery rectangular mica. The two boxed tubes from swiss-tubes were purchased as a matched pair. The two boxed tubes from eastern-electric were purchased as a matched pair. For the 3 that don't have boxes, I didn't record the seller's name or the original test values. They also may not be labeled correctly in the photo. The test results are correct but I had to take a guess as to which tubes the results belonged to.. I put them in a box after testing and years later forgot which order they were in. 2x KenRad 6SN7GT VT-231 Black glass ending ~7mm above black base, white labels, staggered/parallel plates, bottom getter. I didn't record the seller's name or original test values. Can't remember if they were a matched pair, but the test results seem pretty close. 1x Tung-Sol 6SN7GT "Round Plate" Oval mica, 2 U-shaped structures on mica, thin keyhole shaped plates, dark glass, silver labels. Purchased as marginal, but there's still some life left. Never ended up using it as the amp I had needed 2(one for each channel) 2x UltraSonic Rx-30 Damping Instrument (tube dampeners) Purchased from SNA classifieds a while back. Can't remember any more info about them. Very good condition - forgot I even had them. Throwing these in as an extra.. they seem crazy overpriced on HerbiesAudioLab. AUD 69 each?!?! No longer required. Sold as is - Don't have any tube equipment to audition. Will pack extremely well if shipping is required.
  25. A pair of 6SN7 GTB tubes. These were manufactured by Raytheon in 1964. Both tubes have the same date codes and both test very strong and close in value. These test at 2250/ 2225 with 2000 listed as a new value on Hickok tester. These are the tall bottle type with grey plates and round halo getter at the top.
