Hi all, im thinking is like to try a different 2ch amp at home. i currently have the Yamaha AS-1100 and am happy however curiosity has set in and an wondering if more power and a different signature sound will also satisfy me some might recall my adventure getting this amp and the fact I have a Matantz AVR still set up at home and utilise a Beresford to switch between amps for HT and 2ch listening. speakers are still KEF Q950 the Vincent SV237mk is still knocking at the door loudly and I see now the Rotel RA1592 is on sale at a lot of places for approx $2700. I know the Vincent is a tad warmer and more powerful but the RA1592!ivenot heard but see it to be more powerful- anyone have experience with this amp? being that I consider Marantz sound quite warm and smooth, the Yamaha sound is very neutral but still smooth (not as smooth), but not as “forgiving” as Marantz... To spend the money on anew amp I’m keen to look and listen to amps that have more power than the Yamaha as the KEFs like being driven to get the most out of them any suggestions out there to add to the list Vincent and Rotel? budget up to say $3500 but less if possible! Understanding I’ll get suggestions above and double that but springing to mind is Roksan, musical fidelity and I think Onkyo have one for about $3k also. Whatever I look at must have x4 analog rca options, digital inputs and dac not important as I have an Oppo 205 which I’ll connect to it for that purpose but it’s a full package like the Rotel that is fine also. thanks all keen to read your suggestions and any experiences

It works flawlessly and is smooth and silent to operate. The tray moves in and out in silent and stable motion, in keeping with the solid Yamaha build quality. The motor is silent when running, and the display has all the usual features for easy use. The touch of the buttons is satisfying and solid. The supplied remote control opens up more functions, including a dimmer control for the LED panel on the unit. It utilises uses high quality components throughout. The analogue outputs deliver a detailed but slightly warm presentation. Imaging is spot on and accurate. Bass is very nice. The digital output will deliver an accurate data stream to whatever DAC you might choose. I preferred to use the analogue outs most of the time, and when this option is employed, you can use the Pure Direct button for an ever so slightly cleaner sound. To be honest, it's hardly perceptible, but still there. The Pure Direct function turns off unnecessary electronics, such as the LED panel and the digital out. It would go very well with my Yamaha A-S700 integrated amplifier which I have also listed for sale. The A-S700 amp and the CD-S700 CD player were designed by Yamaha as an ideal matching pair. Both these components are excellent in their own right. The CD-S2100 is both a very good SACD player and a standalone DAC. It takes Coax, Toslink and USB, where Yamaha has its own proprietary USB interface which I can’t fault, and as a standalone DAC its implementation is done really well. The A-S2100 amp has a lot of features, although the only one I use is the balanced connection. It has a full and warm sound, which is a characteristic described in many reviews. Although the wattage on the specs might seem low it does produce strong power and current. I’m driving a pair of Dynaudio Special 40’s with it, and it has really good control over the strong mids and bass Dynaudios are known for. Together the CD-S2100 & A-S2100 are a perfect match, and with the Dynaudios the sound is warm, rich, and clear. Both components are a joy to look at with precise machining and finish, and the timber sides are a really nice part of the design. For transparency, I purchased these from another member where the CD-S2100 and A-S2100 were new and factory sealed out of the box when I purchased them (see link for the ad below). The member I bought them from is the current owner of Eastwood Hifi in Sydney, which is an authorized Yamaha dealer. He got this gear as promotional collateral and he already had a good setup, so he didn’t need this equipment. I have the original invoices he gave me, where he said as extra reassurance he will also honor the warranty on both the SACD Player and Integrated Amplifier on top of the factory warranty. There is over 4 years of warranty left on both components. The condition of both the A-S2100 and CD-S2100 is perfect and looks new out of the box except for a very small mark on the edge of the side panel of the amp, however you must look very closely to see it. I'm selling these as this is one of those hobbies where the want to change things up seems to happen a lot, so I’m looking at trying something new. Aside from a couple of minor scratches on the lid as I have photographed, the amplifier is in otherwise absolutely excellent condition, it weighs 22kg and is a testament to the build quality of the amplifier, also reflected in the powerful clean sound it produces. All speakers and sub-woofer in very good condition and rear surround speakers come complete with KEF speaker stands. Whilst they may now be a decade old, these speakers still have plenty of sound and will not disappoint. The KEF 3001 series are fantastic as they deliver a great movie and music experience, I recommend reading the reviews online about these speakers. The amplifier also is in very good condition, it boast plenty of power for a 7.2 channel amp (105 watts per channel for 2), has 3 HDMI inputs/1 HDMI output, upscaling to 1080p and is 2 zone capable.
