  2. Hi guys, Please be gentle with me! I'm unsure as to where to post this, as I'm seeking some advice as to the value of some 70's/80's hifi components that my father-in-law has asked me to help him sell. EDIT - I'VE DONE A DEAL WITH MY FATHER-IN-LAW AND THE GEAR IS NOW OFFICIALLY MINE I've searched that auction site, Gumtree and a number of forums' sales areas. The values vary a lot, and several of the components I can only find very limited listings for. I have heaps of photos, videos, etc. I inspected each component yesterday to see how they worked, however I'm no expert. The items cost quite a lot of money originally, and the deck and tonearm in particular seem to be highly sought-after. Thankyou in advance!
  3. Further information: A great tape deck for pro and home user , it works as it should and have done a minor service to clean things up a bit. Some blemishes on wood panel both side . 6. I have a Teac C-2X Cassette Deck that I'd like to get going again. It seems it needs the motors replaced, new idlers, plus rubbers. Does anyone know where I might be able to source suitable parts?
  7. Teac X-3 Needs a belt. Got all the screws off the front panel and the parts that come off. Even took the back off. The front panel is loose on top/bottom and both sides. Can get about 1/2 inch if pull lightly BUT seems like something in the middle by the heads is stopping it. A close look shows that it should lift right up from there. No need to take off the heads assembly. Tried looking for some screws from the back with no luck. Got a schematic and looked ... either I'm blind or somethings wrong. Can anyone tell me the exact procedure to get this panel off so I can put new belts on and see if anything else if needed. I would really appreciate it. Thanks guys.

  17. Hi, Friend gave me this PVR as he heard mechanical noises after which unit stopped working. Removed WD5000AVVS 3 GB/sec HD as one can also record via USB 2.0 disk. This is a special "green" disk, which even claims to adjust drive RPMs to suit speed demand. Scanned the channels and now find for many channels I get the "No signal" message. Our Olin finds all the channels on the same antenna cable. Asked Dr Google and will try switching off/on, setting to factory defaults and rescanning and will hope for the best. Updating: On the TEAC site I found a 5MB update file with a file extension of ".RS232" but the manual talks of transferring it to a USB stick. RS232 looks like the interface a service technician uses and not an ignorant user like myself. Have asked TEAC's Help section and I am wondering if there will be a reply. Unit looks like a 2010 $200 thing, so it did not last very long, shame on you TEAC!!! Thanks.
