  1. Evening gents. I just purchased a SVS Sb-2000 subwoofer to go with my Rotel RA-1592 and B&W603 S2 (non-anniversary edition) which I use exclusively for music. My question is around managing the crossover frequency cutover point. The Rotel doesn't have crossover management on the amp. I currently have the Rotel sub-out connected to the LFE plug on the SVS (using a single RCA cable), with the sub set to 80hz. I feel like I've got 2 sub-optimal choices: Set the sub crossover lower, to say 40hz so there's minimal overlap between the sub and speakers Or keep it at 80hz and ignore the overlap Is this something to be concerned about, and if so, is there an easy/cheap fix? If not a concern, is there a preference either way? It seems the Rotel is mainly suited as a 2.0 and not a 2.1, but keen to hear views/potential fixes because I otherwise love this amp. Also worth noting this is being used in an 8x6m glass heavy open plan living area. Many thanks,
  2. Further Information: Great sounding cd player in immaculate condition. It performs flawlessly and comes with all accessories and original packaging. Happy to demo or post.

  4. Hi All, curious for opinions. Im comparing a Rotel RA-1572II vs. NAD M10 V2 vs Arcam SA30 as an upgrade to my current stereo set up. 100% music and I stream ~15k tracks via a Squeezebox to an (old) Onkyo TX-82. Its served me well, til now, with the amp starting to have issues (relay). Sound is via completely refurbished Jensen System 500 speakers. See pics! I'm looking for a DAC improvement to the squeezebox - Im certain thy will do that. And an amp improvement. The room is 5M X7M with opening out to to the yard. Rotel is A/B 120W with improved DAC - but no streaming. NAD is class D, 100W - with streaming. ARCAM Class G - with streaming. https://www.stereonet.com/uk/reviews/rotel-ra-1572-mkii-integrated-amplifier-review https://www.stereonet.com/uk/news/nad-announces-masters-m10-v2-just-add-speakers-sy Interested in thoughts!!
  5. Item: ROTEL RCD855 CD PLAYER Location: ADELAIDE Price: 220 Negotiable Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Surplus Payment Method: EFT, Cash, Paypal, COD + Shipping at buyers cost Extra Info: Great sounding Rotel RCD-855 CD Player using famous Phillips TDA1941A Dac + SAA7210P decoder Open, detailed highs + deeper richer bass and great dynamics like in much more expensive, higher end players. Output: Rca Analog and Digital Coax In excellent condition , no skipping or dithering. All functions working. Very fast CD loading mechanism and fast play. NB : No remote. Only known issue : Tray opens & shuts quickly, but placing finger when open stops the tray from immediately shutting for Cd loading ( see pics ) . This is a common issue with these players and can be rectified easily by removing rubber o-ring stops inside the tray . Will pack securely with bubble wrap in box, for shipping at buyers cost. High quality build, heavy with excellent power supply. See review : https://www.head-fi.org/threads/proud-new-rotel-rcd-855-owner.163783/ Stereophile : "By now, it's no secret that one of audio's biggest values has been the hugely popular Rotel RCD-855 CD player; for only $400, it offered sound quality on a par with far more expensive gear, and provided countless tentative audiophiles with the perfect interim CD player during a period of almost daily digital breakthroughs. I don't know about you, but it seems to me like Bob Harley (in whose beard we trust) has been heralding a newest bestest digital processor in every issue of Stereophile for the past couple of years now! I'm not blaming my homeslice RH, though; the Mark Levinsons, Audio Researches, Thetas, Staxes, Wadias, and VTLs have been battling it out for the title of Supreme Digital Leader with more stubborn inbred fury than a hundred Hatfields and McCoys, churning out ever-better gear almost faster than the chipmakers can cut their dies. So when Lewis Lipnick called the $400 Rotel 855 "the steal of the century" in Vol.13 No.7, a loud chorus of HUZZAHS! arose from the foxholes; finally, there was a cheap CD player that could hold its own with the big boys. Pow-er To The Pee-pull! The Rotel was the right player at the right time; basically a standard Philips 16-bit machine with better parts and a beefier power supply, the 855 found a home in thousands of happy systems the world over. 6. Hi all, im thinking is like to try a different 2ch amp at home. i currently have the Yamaha AS-1100 and am happy however curiosity has set in and an wondering if more power and a different signature sound will also satisfy me some might recall my adventure getting this amp and the fact I have a Matantz AVR still set up at home and utilise a Beresford to switch between amps for HT and 2ch listening. speakers are still KEF Q950 the Vincent SV237mk is still knocking at the door loudly and I see now the Rotel RA1592 is on sale at a lot of places for approx $2700. I know the Vincent is a tad warmer and more powerful but the RA1592!ivenot heard but see it to be more powerful- anyone have experience with this amp? being that I consider Marantz sound quite warm and smooth, the Yamaha sound is very neutral but still smooth (not as smooth), but not as “forgiving” as Marantz... To spend the money on anew amp I’m keen to look and listen to amps that have more power than the Yamaha as the KEFs like being driven to get the most out of them any suggestions out there to add to the list Vincent and Rotel? budget up to say $3500 but less if possible! Understanding I’ll get suggestions above and double that but springing to mind is Roksan, musical fidelity and I think Onkyo have one for about $3k also. Whatever I look at must have x4 analog rca options, digital inputs and dac not important as I have an Oppo 205 which I’ll connect to it for that purpose but it’s a full package like the Rotel that is fine also. thanks all keen to read your suggestions and any experiences

  8. Item: Rotel RB-991 Power Amplifier Location: Melbourne (Northern 'burbs) Price: $500 Item Condition: Cosmetically, pretty much spotless. Electronically, given a clean bill of health by Philatronics (after a minor gain calibration). Will make a bit of a 'whump' when you turn it on, as do most power amps of this era, but no complaints otherwise. Reason for selling: I bought it to use with an AVR, then got sick of the AVR and its issues and bought a brand new 200w p/c Rotel integrated instead. This has sat idle ever since. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash Extra Info: 200wpc into 8ohms - possibly more if you read the Stereophile review. Bought from a meticulous owner who used it with a Rotel AVR and an RB-993 to power his Miller & Kreisel surround system, who in turn bought it from another meticulous owner. As far as I know, I am owner #3, and have used it a total of maybe 20 hours at sub-reference levels with some KEF Q700s. Pictures: (apologies for my blurry phone camera)
  9. Item: Rotel RB-993 Location: Melbourne, 3064 Price: $700 negotiable Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: No longer needed Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: The amp is in excellent working condition. It runs on 110 volts (a tortech step down transformer will be included in the sale). Alternatively, the amp can be converted to 230 volts as noted in the owner's manual. Specifications Power output: 200 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo), 200W (3 channel) Frequency response: 15Hz to 100kHz Total harmonic distortion: 0.03% Damping factor: 280 Input sensitivity: 1.5V Signal to noise ratio: 116dB Speaker load impedance: 4Ω (minimum) Dimensions: 440 x 121 x 365mm Weight: 18.3kg Pictures:
  10. Item: Rotel RT-02 Radio Tuner, in excellent condition with very minor usage wear. Comes with the original remote. Location: Will ship! I'm in Maroubra, in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney NSW. Naturally, local pick up is always my first preference. Price: $225, will swap for decent turntables and separates, new or old. Anything classic too, I like surprises! Item Condition: As per above, happy to take more photos too. Reason for selling: Matching preamp sold, lots of tuners! Payment Method: Pickup is cash only. Will ship with PayPal but we must speak on the phone first. Extra Info: Beautiful finish, looks great in amongst a Rotel stack. The components in this range from Rotel have a high construction quality to them, and an elegantly simple approach to the design of the internal electronics themselves. Pictures:
  11. Rotel RDD 1580 DAC and Analysis Plus Solo Crystal RCA (1.5m) Location: Sydney Price: Rotel Dac $500 - now $470 , Analysis Plus (sold), plus postage. Payment Method: Direct deposit. Cash. Extra Info: Have original boxes for both items. Rotel DAC Review : retail for about 900$ https://www.whathifi.com/rotel/rdd-1580/review Analysis Plus review : retail for about 800$ http://www.audioreview.com/cat/cables/interconnect-cables/analysis-plus/solo-crystal-oval/prd_448851_5827crx.aspx
  12. Item: Rotel RA-840BX3 integrated amplifier Location: Williamstown, Victoria Price: $199 Item Condition: 7/10 Reason for selling: Too much gear... overdue purge Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra info: This Rotel is one sweet amplifier. From the 90's if I remember correctly. Typically over-engineered in Rotel fashion, this amp has a beguiling sound that is just so easy to listen to all day... hallmark of a great amplifier. Its deceiving aswell - its small in size but very powerful with real current drive. Was very well regarded in it's day. I've owned this since new, so its it very good condition. A few small nicks and scratches, and some of the lables are wearing off the facia slightly, but on the whole exceptional for its age. This amp is perfect if you have a retro setup, or want to put together a really nice retro analog setup - just add a Rega RP3 (it has a good Phono stage to plug in your MM or MC cartridge/turntable), the Denon cassette deck and Denon tuner from my other listings, and a pair of nice standmount B&W or Dynaudios from the 90's Please note that the Denon tuner is for sale on another page. If you want all 3 (this deck, Rotel amp and the Denon tuner), I'll throw in the tuner for free. Pictures:
  13. Item: Rotel RB-1090 Location: Sydney Price: $1,600 (ONO) Item Condition: 8/10 Reason for selling: downsizing Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Extra Info: Continuous Power Output (20-20 kHz, < 0.03%): 380 watts/ch into 8 ohms 700 watts/ch into 4 ohms I'm selling this on behalf of my best friend who's downsizing to a man-cave. Long story - he's going through a rough breakup. Anyway - the RMB-1090 is kind of a legendary amp. I know I was pretty jealous when he bought it as I had only the RMB-1075 at the time. It's the flagship AMP and it's 380w a channel power is understated! The max power handling of the unit is 800w! The transformer is in great condition, hardly used. no hum, the amp is quiet, cool and has always been well ventilated. In other words - it's just a totally awesome amp. I would love to keep it just for a mosoleam of Hi-Fi but my friend needs the cash and who can blame him! The amp comes without a box so local pickup is preferred. Hopefully you don't have a bad back either because it weighs a tonne. Likely the interested buyer will know exactly what they're going for as I cannot demonstrate the amp past turning it on! The amplifier has been test at Kimil Electronics. Should you have any more questions please don't hesitate to contact me. Oh and he also has an RSP - 1066, and a full M&K 150 surround system likely for sale soon. Pictures:
  14. Item: Rotel RCD-1070 CD player Location: Sydney Price: $300 ONO Item Condition: 8/10 Reason for selling: Haven't used it in possibly 8 years! Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only - all are fine Extra Info: My mate purchased this unit with his RB1095, 1090 and 1066 theatre system. Thinking he'd listen to CD's... he never really did. Although it was really cool that he had the whole rotel kit. - he never used this stuff and as he's scaling down to a small place due a breakup - it's time for this stuff to see a new home. Feel free to make offers. There's no box but I have the remote for it. I recall it retailed for just over $1,000 Pictures:
  15. Item: Rotel RA-971mkii Integrated Amplifier Location: Sydney inner west Price: $250 Item Condition: very good Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal friend, COD Only Extra Info: In excellent condition apart from 2 tiny marks on the front fascia (top middle, top left). Very tidy otherwise. Solid 60w integrated from the late 90s-2000. Many favourable reviews online - coherent, dynamic and good sound stage. Deceptively powerful. I've been running with some Rega Elas and it sounds great. Can use a pre-amp. Power output: 60 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo) Frequency response: 10Hz to 100kHz Total harmonic distortion: 0.03% Signal to noise ratio: 95dB (line) Dimensions: 440 x 92 x 347mm Weight: 6.5kg Pictures:
  16. Item: Rotel A10 Integrated Amplifier Location: Carlton North, Melbourne 3054 Price: $400 Item Condition: Excellent - Like New Reason for selling: Upgrade Payment Method: Pickup - Cash Extra Info: This class AB amplifier has been hardly used - it's probably only seen about 50 hours of playtime. Bought brand new for the retail price of $649 and used with a Rega turntable. It has a great moving magnet phono stage built in and the slimline design makes it very compact. It's rated at 40 Watts per channel but honestly it packs quite a bunch despite it's slim design and has driven my Proac Super EBTs with ease. Comes with original box, cables, and all of the leaflets that came inside. All specs found in the link below. https://www.rotel.com.au/products/rotel-a10-integrated-amplifier Pictures:
  17. Item: Rotel 1582 Stereo Power Amplifier, 2 x 200 W into 8 ohms Location: VIC 3212 Price: $850 ono Item Condition: Used, good-as-new Reason for selling: Downsizing Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal +3%, EFTPOS Extra Info: Half the price of Mk II rrp, as far as I can tell the only differences are stand-by power consumption (not quoted here vs. <0.5W on Mk II) and inconsequential increase in damping factor (800 vs 1000 on Mk II). Bought this from a Stereo Net member a few years ago, and have been using this for subwoofer duties. It absolutely rocks, despite never been driven to even half-power due to the max output voltage limit of the MiniDSP! Well anybody familiar with Rotel products will know the quoted output figures are on the conservative side, and I don't think I will ever go back to plate amplifiersd. Despite the muscle, it would not be out of place as main amplifier either, if the previous owner and these reviews are anything to go by: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1-ODTJdxnndQkJJa21VQVB3NFk/edit http://www.rotel.com/sites/default/files/RB1582_RC1580_WhatHifi_Mar11.pdf http://www.rotel.com/sites/default/files/RCD1520_RC1580_RB1582_HiFiChoice_Sep09.pdf https://www.rotel.com.au/blogs/reviews-resources/11026613-hi-fi-news-reviews-the-unstoppable-2x200w-rb-1582-rc-1580 Specifications: Continuous Power Output: 200 watts/channel, (20-20 kHz, < 0.03%, 8 ohms) Total Harmonic Distortion: <0.03% (20Hz-20kHz, 8 ohms) Intermodulation Distortion: <0.03% (60 Hz : 7 kHz, 4:1) Frequency Response: 15Hz - 100kHz ( +0.5, –3dB) Damping Factor: 800 (20-20,000 Hz, 8 ohms) Speaker Impedance: 4 ohms minimum Signal to Noise Ratio: 116 dB(IHF A network) Input Impedance/Sensitivity: 12 k Ohms/1.9 volt Gain: 26.5 dB Dimensions: Width x Height x Depth 431 x 144 x 407 mm Front Panel Height 3U / 132.6mm Weight (net) 17.1kg Dual binding posts for output terminals 12V trigger input Owner's manual Local pick-up would be preferred, would be willing to organise drop-off in Geelong area or Melbourne western suburbs. Shipping insured and tracked only, however I don't have the original box and it's one heavy beast so buyer discretion applies. What looks like a blemish on the top in the photo is dust, not a mark on the front or top cover. Pictures:
  18. Item: Rotel RX1603 Location: Melbourne Price: $1900 firm Item Condition: Functionally like new condition.See all photos for cosmetic condition. Reason for selling: In need of cash. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal(Covering PayPal fees/as a friend), Bank deposit. Extra Info: - This listing is on behalf of a friend. It's the rare Rotel RX-1603 and is the biggest stereo receiver Rotel ever made. - 180 watts per channel into 8 ohms. - Weighs 33kgs. - Top of the line Sanken 2SC1586 output transistors that were hand picked and hand tested when manufactured. - It can be separated into two units, pre-amplifier and power amplifier. - Yes, the best unit I have ever listened. Bring any of your Integrated amplifier/receivers for comparison. I prefer local pickup or buyer needs to arrange packing and shipping. Pictures:
  19. Item: Rotel RSX-1056 AVR Location: Flemington, Vic Price: SOLD $250 Item Condition: Very good Reason for selling: Gone to much pricier pre and power amp Payment Method: Pickup only for now - Cash, Paypal (+3% unless friend transfer), bank transfer Extra Info: Why the cheeky 'super integrated' reference? Well, I think many people trying to put together a good sounding 2 channel or 2.1 channel system overlook older high-end AVRs. Where else can you get powerful, musical amps, subwoofer control and a pretty darn good Burr-Brown DAC for this price? Just run an optical cable from your TV and one from your cheap CD/DVD player, then use an RCA cable for your smartphone/laptop. All you need to do is add speakers for a great value sound system. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I think it looks quite handsome if you have the space. Standout features for me are: 2 x 100W into 8ohm (and don't forget the power supply is designed to support 5 channels at 75W) Subwoofer out, including ability to control crossover and levels 5 digital inputs (2 x optical, 3 x coax) I used this to run my Dynaudio Focus 160 when I first got them, which are quite difficult to drive (4ohm, 86dB) and it never lacked for control or volume. Includes original remote, but I prefer to use a universal remote such as a $30 Harmony. Pictures:
  20. Looking to sell my Rotel power amp as I am changing to an integrated to save space. Great condition with fairly low use (only used for music for time to time) Can drive anything and doubles to 400w per channel at 4ohm. Plenty of great reviews for a budget amp. After $900 ONO. Happy to post.

  25. Match it with any of the power amps being sold here and you will have a killer 2ch system. Bought from Cleff Hifi in Melb in May 2013. Still under warranty (3 years), purchased in may 2013. Will provide receipt. Great sound. Wish I can find a HT receiver with a sound stage as good as this (have to take the risk!). Comes with original packaging and box, manuals, remote (never used), everything. Did not get to play it much due to watching movies instead of 2ch.\ RRP $ 850 Price $400 O. N. O. Photos speak for themselves. Pet, smoke, kids, free environment. Protective wrap is still on it. Small mark on top. Unnoticeable unless you put a very bright lamp pointing at it. Pick up in Ringwood (Victoria), I'm not a fan of shipping Hi Fi equipment but if you have a courier you trust we can organise something. Would prefer to sell it to a local buyer. My system has been slowly evolving from 2ch to HT and this preamp is now redundant. Need to sell to fund a good receiver.
