  7. Further information: The Rega RB300 tonearm is well known to members of this group. I have owned this new since 1989, had it mounted on my Thorens TD-160 Super, & have performed the following modifications/upgrades/enhancements on it. - silver internal Litz wiring (from memory Cardas) - Expressimo Audio 115g "full moon" drop counterweight - improved bass reproduction, tracking, musical detail, resolution & shifts tonearm resonance to the "optimum" 10 Hz. (The original drop weight, there have been many copies since) - Expressimo Audio "VTAF" (Vertical Tracking Angle on the Fly) which allows fine VTA adjustment due to the variability of record thicknesses, without compromising stiffness, secured by original nut - Separate ground lead with mini banana plug (original was grounded through the earth of the RCA plugs) - 2 x 1.5 metre lengths of Furutech FR-alpha S22 Oxygen-free Copper (OFC) tonearm lead, which retails for $85 a metre (total value $255) (connected by 15cm of original Chord Chrysalis phono tail, which is hard wired to the internal Litz cables) - Terminated by a pair of locking WBT110 Ag silver plugs, retail AUS $88 each (total value $176) - Last 2 upgrades done in 2018 All working well. My reason for selling is that my Lyra Skala's stylus recently packed it in after 900+ hours, & am planning an upgrade to an Etna, plus a Rega RB2000. Selling price takes into consideration recent upgrades in the phono lead & RCA plugs, however, please feel free to make reasonable offers. I will post anywhere in Australia for a flat $20, on top of the selling price. Overseas customers, please check Australia's Post's website (www.auspost.com.au) for a quote from 2222 to your country. 8. i put this up a while ago and then made the mistake of listening to it again — I lost my bottle and decided to keep it. But the reality is I put a lot of effort into my digital system and hardly ever listen to vinyl these days, so it's back for sale. It is a cracking TT in very nice condition and with all the obvious upgrades done. It needs to go to someone who will appreciate it. If you're in the market for a for a new Rega (up to, say, a P6) buy this. With this cart and upgrades it's a bargain and you'll have a bucket of money left over for vinyl. 12. Further information: Selling a few items on behalf of my friend as his personal circumstance have changed. Items are pretty much new with as little as 50 hours of use on them. Preference to sell them all to the one person, however happy to break up if there are buyers for all of the items. Items are based in the south East of Melbourne and could possibly be dropped off as well as they need to be gone ASAP. Keen to see how low some of the prices go, however please don’t be offended if I don’t responded for ridiculous offers. Looking for someone locally, however have the boxes for the TT and therefor can ship if no local buyers are found. 1. Project 2Xperience SB Turntable (Walnut) including Ortofon 2M Cartridge 2. 15. I’m keen to get some views on what would be a worthwhile upgrade from an AT LP120 turntable with an upgraded Hyper Elliptical stylus. I’m keen on staying with MM cartridges and looking to spend up to $2k. Amp and speakers are high quality but I am unsure if the extra spend would make a demonstrable difference. Keen on some views and suggestions on TT’s that would be worth considering.

  19. I have a Rega Planar 25 turntable that I bought second hard years ago from someone who is a bit of an audiophile. It doesn't get a lot of use, but eventually the day will come that I need a new stylus. I suspect that day is fairly close. I have absolutely no idea about this stuff, and what it's got is hardly plug-and-play. There's not even any sort of make/model code on it as far as I can see. Looks like it would have to be very manually removed and reinstalled, and has some very small fiddly looking copper(?) connectors. Don't know how many pics I can attach. Going to try all six I took earlier today to show it from as many angles as I can. I'm in Wellington New Zealand. Where would I go for a new stylus? How would I describe what one (or type of one) I need? What sort of price am I looking at? Then there's the question of actually trying to remove the current one and install the new one. Looks like I'd have to remove the arm as there's not enough room to work with to unscrew whats there and screw in a new one. I can't see any other way to do it. So, as I said and as you can tell, I've got absolutely no idea about this stuff. Seems to me that I don't have a terribly easy turntable when it comes to this. Thanks in advance for whatever useful info anyone can provide. Glenn
