Hi everyone, Over the years we have accumulated several Panasonic and Pioneer plasma televisions. One has 15, yes, 15 hours on the panel (it's in storage); the highest is 54K hours. Only one set has been calibrated appropriately; the others are good, but likely not taking advantage of their full potential. If memory serves me correctly, the older sets had their brightness and contrast levels turned down many years ago when Panasonic announced the cessation of plasma sets. They have all been infallible and continue to soldier on; and hopefully will for decades! With this, do ageing plasmas need their display settings adjusted after a certain hourage? I'm aware of the initial burn-in period; all except one has well and truly surpassed that. I am tempted to ask for appropriate calibration settings, but I know that is a broad, person-specific topic, which differs from set to set, so I won't go there. However, what tools, resources, guides, and information do people use to calibrate their sets? I know it's more involved than turning the dials and ending up at a picture that looks alright. I should also point out that up until a few years ago I was still relatively young and didn't take too much notice of the picture displayed before me, hence the recent interest in sorting them out. If it is of any importance, the range of ages is from 2000 to 2014, with, of course, differing hours. on each unit. Further, I use FOXTEL's cable service through their iQ2 set-top-box; the two resolutions in use are 720p and 1080i (the iQ2 does not support 1080p), if that is of any help. Cheers

Further information: It pains me to get rid of this - its been a stellar TV since purchased new from GoodGuys Essendon DFO in Sep 2009. But I just don't have room for it any more. All it needs is a Chromecast and its a smart TV. Unfortunately this is pick up only (47Kg) and should be transported in an upright position. Sorry I have no boxes but its last move wrapped in blankets went without incident. Comes with manual and remote. Photos:

For sale is a Panasonic 65" 3D Plasma TV (model TH-P65VT60A). This TV was the last and highest specified plasma TV released in Australia by Panasonic. The item for sale was manufactured in Oct 2013. Purchased by me in 2014 from the last few remaining in Myer Adelaide when plasma was discontinued. Screen is in 'as new' condition. Picture is amazing (no kids, not used with games console. media not left paused - so definitely no burn in). Clocked up only 8555 hours usage. Used continuously until February 2020. Boxed and ready for sale, then COVID happened - so delayed until now. 4 HDMI ports and 3 USB ports. Built in pop-up camera for Skype. Software updated to latest version. Connects to wifi or cat6 network, has Netflix, YouTube, ABC iView, SBS On Demand, etc apps built in. Works great with Apple TV, Chromecast. Heavy duty stand and all accessories included; standard remote (never used - like new), touch pad remote (unopened in pack), two pairs 3D glasses (used twice - like new), pen for use with electronic note taking app (unopened in pack), manual and strap to secure to TV cabinet. Hi all, a golden oldie here - Pioneer 50" PDP-507XDA with bottom mount speaker and stand, plus Pioneer VSX-AX2AS with remotes. The Plasma is Japanese made of course. Still works wonderfully and no problems with the picture, but we've unexpectedly adopted an OLED so time to move this on. It has an inbuilt digital tuner and looks great with Netflix, consoles, FTA, Foxtel etc. but is capped at 1080i so can be left a bit wanting for Blu-Ray. It'd be awesome as a second tele or in the pool room. We would not have upgraded if the OLED hadn't been offered - plenty of life in the old girl yet. The stand is a little rough in places but not so noticeable with the amp sitting on it. I have remotes, cables etc but no manuals. No box either so local pickup would certainly be best. No idea what these are worth these days so happy to entertain offers. Figure a perfectly working 50" with amp and stand still holds some value, right?! p.s. cables route through the stand to keep it nice and tidy but it's been on the wall and I was too lazy to run them properly for the sake of the picture. There is no built-in tuner and there are no speakers but don’t let that discourage you. What have here is Full HD 1080p plasma with exceptional picture quality and lots of settings to tweak. Think professional display monitor. Spend a little time getting the calibration dialed-in and it still looks absolutely stunning and satisfying to watch. To make it really shine you are going to want to connect it to a decent source like the 2nd hand Oppo BDP95 Blu-Ray Player ($599) we have it hooked up to in the showroom PLUS your AV Receiver/Speaker combo to manage sound. It’s a decent sized thing too and (very) solid, measuring 1,554mm wide, 924mm tall and 94mm deep. You can be wall mounted or use it with the desktop stand. Hi All, Up for sale: Pioneer Kuro LX609A 60'' Plasma TV 9th Generation. This legend needs no introduction: The Rolls Royce of plasmas. Purchased new in 2010 (no longer have box or receipt). Watched on average 2 hours a week and only for blu ray movies. Comes with speakers & stand (attached). Remote and all original documents included. Selling as I've moved from a 4 bedroom house to a 2 bed unit and can't enjoy it the way it's supposed too. Selling the plasma TV, great condition, I will give 3 months warranty. It has been on the wall, does not have the stand, other than that it has 2 x high end 3d glasses, manual, wifi dongle etc. I will also throw in a bluray 3d player and Avatar bluray as a bonus. $550 I am in Shepparton area.

Hi, my Pioneer LX608 plasma no longer seems to be able to get to standby mode, let alone turn on the screen. Could this be a capacitor problem? Any good recommendations for repair in Melbourne east? The tv is out of warranty, and since Pioneer closed shop I've no idea where to look. Cheers.
