  1. Further Information: I bought this on SNA over 12 months ago, with a wish to hear the legendary PCM1704UK Chips in action. I enjoyed the sound and the music it makes but it doesn't quite suit my system as I prefer balanced and a DAC with volume control. Yes, it does have balanced outputs but the gain is not sufficient for my system. Also, it requires a warm up period of 30 to 60 minutes. As I don't normally leave equipment on when not using I was not always able to enjoy the music when I was intending. As such, I am getting a different DAC to suit my needs. The list of features in the design of this DAC is extensive so please follow the link. The DAC comes with standard power cord. I have the original box so can ship interstate but would definitely prefer pickup. http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/dac/RE7/RE7EN.htm And a review of the Ref 7.1 (NB. Ref 7 has preferred setting rather than being changed) https://darko.audio/2011/04/audio-gd-reference-71-dac-8-x-pcm1704uk/ DAC Reference 7 Specs RCA Output S/N Ratio:>118db Output Level:2.5V Frequency Breadth:20-20KHz
  2. Item: Denafrips Terminator DAC Location: Sunshine Coast QLD Price: $5,200 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Upgraded, no longer used Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Transferable warranty. Original double box/packaging. No power cord. Black Termie in excellent condition. Willing to post within Australia only, at buyers expense. Just over 12 months old. Warranty transferable ( I need to notify Alvin at Vinshine to let him know the new owners details). Genuine reason for sale - upgraded to a DAC costing over 3 times the price of the Termie. The Termie is such a wonderful sounding DAC and a bargain both in terms of sound and build quality. I could have EASILY stayed with it but an opportunity to get the other DAC arose and I just couldn't resist. Add PayPal fee (if not paying via family etc). Double boxed 56cm x 60 x 26. It should be just under the 22kg max allowed by Aust Post but I'll have to check.
  3. Item: Soekris 1321 Dac Location: Gosford NSW - will Post anywhere. Price: $830 posted Aus Wide Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Too many Dac’s Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal with fees, COD Only Extra Info: A true “giant killer” if ever there was one. Took a RRP$9k Dac to displace it. is a fully discrete 25 bit R-2R sign magnitude DAC, built with two hundred tiny and very precise thin film SMD resistors. The line output buffer is a high performance zero feedback design built with discrete parts. The main power supplies are ultra low loise, low impedance and very fast, also built with discrete parts. Inputs are a USB interface in both PCM and DSD formats, SPDIF and Toslink. It is then buffered and reclocked using a precise and very low jitter oscillator, with the digital processing done in a programmable FPGA chip, with 4 selectable advanced digital filters and a digital volume control. http://www.soekris.dk/dac1321.html Pictures:
  4. I was clearing out some stuff I had in storage and came across this old Luxman DZ 112 cd player which I picked up from another member several years ago. The dac chip is apparently rare and is an R2R type. I'm curious to hear how it sounds but I can't get the tray to open although it powers up and I can hear a motor noise when I press eject. Any suggestions on how to sort out that issue? Is it worth playing around with it to get it going again? Curiosity has got the better of me when I should be pruning things down
