  2. Item: Focal Elegia Closed Back Headphones (Full Set) Location: Bendigo, Victoria. Price: $500.00 + Postage if required Item Condition: Virtually new and Mint (purchased 22/01/2020) Reason for selling: Impulse purchase during a very boring teleconference meeting at work. Sound signature not really suited to my Death/Thrash Metal leanings. 3. Item: Custom Bookshelf Speakers, Tannoy Subwoofer Location: Sydney Price: $750 - Price Drop $600 Item Condition: Used, Good Condition Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Speakers are a custom made bookshelf with Focal Tweeter, 7" Esoteric bass driver, QED Silver Cable, Jantzen Silver Z Caps, Jantzen Wax Coils with a receipt for over $2000 worth of parts, nothing skimped on. Excellent crystal clear mids and highs from these, great for vocals and accoustic guitar detail and play through to electronic/synth stuff nicely aswell. Because they are a small sealed design, they dont get below 70Hz so need small sub paired to get full sound. Works nicely with the Tannoy passive running from a modest amp. The Tannoy sub is quite slim and can be hidden under a desk or beside the couch. I had a Marantz PM493 running them previously which was 50w and also a Peachtree Nova 125 as my office/computer setup and they go nicely for close listening and smaller rooms, but no longer required as I have gone inwalls in my new office build and have nowhere else that needs a system. 4. Item: Focal Alpha 65 active studio monitors Location: Kilsyth South Price: $550 Item Condition: very good. Slight scratch on the tweeter, but doesn’t affect sound quality. About six months old. Have receipt, and boxes Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  6. Item: Focal Aria 926 Location: Sydney Price: 2k (donation if sold here) Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Upgrade Payment Method: bank transfer, PayPal, cash Extra Info: These are fantastic speakers where you will find many reviews online. - Original grills in excellent condition - No dents or scratches - Operated at reasonably low/mid volume. - Speakers are covered with soft fabric when not used to protect from sunlight. - I can arrange time for audition for serious buyers only. I’m impressed with the focal, I was able to get a well defined sound stage from wall to wall and with clear separation of instruments and focal. The cleanest of the sound is well balanced and are not bright at all. The female and male vocals are emotional and it’s bass is punchy and weighted like waves pushing to the shoreline. If you are looking to spend 2k on speakers these would be the choice for me. It is current rrp is $3750 and that is not run in. It is made in France. Photos:
  7. Item: Focal Stellia Headphone Location: Kalgoorlie Price: AU$2800 (RRP$4500) Item Condition: Like new. Barely used and store in its original box most of the time. Reason for selling: Need money for medical treatment Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Bank Transfer, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: This headphone was purchased from Addicted to Audio March 2019 and only used couple times as most of the time it sits in its box. All original accessories and cables are included. This price included postage with signature nationally unless you have special requirement. Please let me know if you have anything wanna ask. Serious buyers only. Thanks a lot. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  8. I’m a recovering audiophile😂 the best thing ever did, was stop being one. When I look back at the money I’ve spent because I was continually disatisfied, it makes my eyes water. Then I discovered studio monitors, and I was done. My setup is now Focal Alpha 65’s with a Yamaha WXC-50 streaming preamp. Maximum inputs, streaming, and a speaker that goes clean down to 40hz. Bass and treble controls on the back, mean I can tune the sound to the room. (Audiophiles will say “oh no, you can’t have those it upsets the purity of the sound. Bollocks😂) Bear in mind, I’m in a near field situation. I turfed all my records, record player, Stax gear, etc. Files I use? AAC off Apple Music. Only costs me $11 a month. Tidal? Once you drop the audiophilia, it’s quite liberating for your mind, and your wallet. My system comes in at $1299 AUD and my OCD has disappeared 😂😂 Yes, that’s a Nintendo Switch. And an IKEA cabinet. That cost me $139 (cheaper then a hifi shelf😂) and the Focals sit on $8 Bunnings decking isolation pads😉
  9. Item: Focal Utopia Headphones Location: Glen Waverley Price: $2895 (New Price: $5500) firm Item Condition: Near New (used less than 10 times in total and still under warranty) Reason for selling: Need money after car purchase Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I've already received multiple offers from overseas at $3000 AUD but I want to check if any Aussies want it first. That way I wouldn't need to ship it overseas. Paypal +3%. Pick up preferred but I can cover local shipping. Will donate to SNA if sold here. 12. Item: Focal Aria 948 Floorstanding Speakers Location: Len Wallis Audio, HQ Price: $3500 Item Condition: Excellent Secondhand Condition Payment Method: Credit Cards, Cash, Paypal, Bank Transfer, ZipPay Extra Info: Simply stunning, just traded Focal Aria 948 Floorstanders in High Gloss Black. These speakers are the current model and brand new retail for $6000! Shipping: Anywhere in the land of OZ, POA Focal say: The Aria 948 loudspeaker symbolises the return of the 'true' acoustic loudspeaker. A new type of 3-way loudspeaker with 81/4’’ (21cm) speaker drivers effortlessly providing intense and controlled bass. The intention was a return to the very essence of acoustics for those who are passionate about music. 'Flax' cones are characterized by their natural sound, with low coloration, their richness of reproduction in the midrange register and their tighter bass. The result is a more homogeneous sound, improved dynamics. Photos:
  13. Item: Focal JM Lab Electra 905 Speakers Location: SYD - Hurlstone Park 2193 Price: $400 obo, donation to SNA on sale Item Condition: good for age, functionally/drivers very good, cabs have a few mark, swirls, scratches etc. Grills have no holes or tears, one has been glued on one top corner by a previous owner (one of the pegs came out of the particle board frame). Firm and fine fit for the grills though. Reason for selling: Was holding on to them for a second system, but need to clear space for upcoming house renovations. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, PayPal friend Extra Info: Great speakers, well reviewed and regarded. Awesome for this price and are still giving many a current offering in the up to 2k new range a run for their money. Great mids and highs, fantastic tweeters. Good detail and clarity. If you are listening to bass heavy music a sub is needed. These are pick-up only, either from my place at Hurlstone Park (2193) or Lane Cove West or St Mary's on a work day if arranged prior. Happy to drop off within the Sydney Metro area if pre-paid at the asking price. Function test on pick-up is fine, no lengthy auditions at this price point though. Many thanks, Ralf Reviews/Opinions: http://www.audioreview.com/product/speakers/floorstanding-speakers/focal/electra-905.html Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  14. Item: Focal Chorus 806v Bookshelf Speakers Location: Len Wallis Audio HQ, 64 Burns Bay Road Lane Cove, NSW Price: Was $550 , StereoNET Member Special $499 Item Condition: Very good secondhand condition, with the exception of some surface damage which we have highlights in picture. Payment Method: Credit Cards, Cash, Paypal, Bank Transfer, ZipPay Shipping: Shipping is always available, POA Extra Info: A lovely pair of Focal Chorus 806v's that need a little bit of restoration work to cure some minor impact damage. Sonically they are perfect and aside from the a few dents pictured, they would serve anyone well for years to come. The 806 is known for being neutral and balanced, the Chorus 806 V with a seductively rich upper mid-range and surprisingly dynamic bass. Enjoy this refined speaker which is perfect in rooms up to 20m2. 15. Item: Focal 816s Chorus Floorstanding Speakers Location: Len Wallis Audio HQ, 64 Burns Bay Road, Lane Cove Price: $1400 StereoNET Member Special $1043 Item Condition: Good Secondhand condition, with some minor surface blemishes Payment Method: Credit cards, Cash, Paypal, Bank Transfers, ZipPay Shipping: Galactic transportation is available, but it's gonna cost you a little extra. Extra Info: These just traded Focal Chorus 816's sound fantastic, pasted our tests and would serve you well. We take some points off these and reduce the condition to 'good' because there are some surface blemishes which we have pictured below. So be aware the cabinet finish is not perfect but would respond well to a little TLC to get them looking 100% again. Shipping: Yes we do, just ask for a rate to your star system Pictures:
  16. Item: focal electra 1038be Location: campsie Price: $ 7500 firm Item Condition: Reason for selling: Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: like new paid 9700$ from westcoast hifi 4 months ago and will take a 2.2 k hit . i tried selling in first month but tried to make them work in my room. Fail alot of people on sna know this system and it is very modest. But the speakers do not do the job i require from it because as you can see my room is horible . I will use this cash to buy small bookshelf speakers. My frustrations with this ridiculous room is making me sell speakers i don't even want to sell. The bass on my concrete walls are imposible tp get true low end resolution. This is a very sad and hard sale. This speaker has warranty if speakers were to fail etc.. It has all spikes and boxes. These speakers had 500 hours logged before i bought. They were for demo in shop purposes. If you want to offer lower than my price please stop and look somewhere else. I'm not really in the mood tbh. Just remember, there's a reason these speakers have a near 16k rrp originally. Thanks Pictures:
  17. I don't think we seem to have an owners thread for focal here ? calling all focal owners or just lovers of focals ... to share the love of Focal... I fell in love with focal....unexpectedly ....about 12 years ago...at a dealer gtg where just happened to hear the lovely focal utopia Divas... and as they say all else is history... before I knew it was demoing them at home and convincing the wife these were the speakers for life I have to be honest I never ever prior to that have ever given them a 2nd thought, seen pictures thought a bit odd ball looking. but in person and in hearing they are something that had me ... what is it about focal ? its their vocals.... yes rhymes truly its the warmth of their vocals and their rendition... that is simply captivating for me ... then there is the delicacy of the top end (which if not partnered well with the room can be out of sorts) similarly the grip on the bottom end and fullness of it that can also be over done with not the right partnering and room and siting. anyways these are my beauties.. in the lovely focal utopia Divas... which soon spread to including a Focal centre speaker and then before you know it to a full focal 7.1.5 setup with focals all around including up in the ceiling and then even spread to the bedroom setup... yep I got it bad... but its thats been the way for a few years so not a passing fancy... hey I've even got some focal music ... sounds fantastic by the way https://www.discogs.com/Various-Focal-The-Spirit-Of-Sound-Vol-5/release/479173 so any other lovers of focal out there ? come share the love some pics how you are using yours what you enjoy about them ? ps I have a very important tip for focal speakers especially those with the W cone mid range / woofer that my above two speakers have .... will share when get a chance ....

  22. Item: Fostex TH900 MK2 with Lawton Level 1 Mod Location:ACT Price: 1150 AUD+Postage Item Condition: Mint, No Scratch, No Paint drpp, Pads are in perfect condition, with all accessories and Fosted headphone stand Reason for selling: Funding for Stax 009 System Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: As you know, I have a collection of flagship headphones, but after listening Stax 009 system, I decide to Build one. (My collection includes Focal clear(sold), Sennheiser HD800(Sold), Sennheiser HD800S(Borrowed to my best hifi friend),Beyer T1(my first hifi headphones, not going to sell them),Hifiman HE1000V2(Borrowed to my Best friend) and Fostex TH900 MK2). HD800s and HEKV2 will be posted for sale once my friend finishes his listening. For the TH900 MK2, High frequency is gorgeous, great for string music. With Lawton Level 1 mod installed($135 USD), mid range is richer and clearer, bass is always one of the best in dynamic headphones below 2500aud range. The 50mm bio-dynamic diaphragm offers even slightly better resolution than HD800 series(in serious listening comparison under same system). Soundstage is no doubt the best in closed back headphones and it sounds just like open back headphones. Bigger than Focal clear, like 75% of HD800 in terms of width. Easier to Drive than most flagships, performs pretty good in my A&K 240 portable player. My verdict: TH900 with Lawton mod stands comfortably in the same class of HD800s. It shines for music types like string music, pop, OST,ACG and female vocal while mainteins flag ship level performance in other types including symphonies. Pictures:

  24. Item: Limited edition Massdrop Focal Elex Headphone Location: Carlton Price: $995 Item Condition: Mint Condition Reason for selling: Upgrade to another headphone Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Headphone in perfect condition, use less than 10 hours. 25. Item: FOCAL MINI UTOPIA SPEAKERS (piano gloss) Location: MELBOURNE PRICE: $3500 (FIRM, over $12K when new) Item Condition: GOOD Reason for selling: UPGRADING Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, EFT, (Paypal add 3%) Extra Info: I am parting with my Focal Mini Utopias; arguably one of the finest standmounds ever made. Had them since new and have never really ceased to be mesmerised by their astounding musicality. That's why my 'incurable upgrade itch' turned out to be quite a challenging and prolong exercise which involved more than a year (make it now 2!) of extensive auditioning of a number of highly acclaimed speakers (many in excess of $20 K). The speakers are in good condition cosmetically (few small marks here and there, really only noticeable upon close inspection) and are absolutely perfect functionally. The matching Focal stands are included. (Have original boxes but would still need to confirm their actual condition if of relevance to the buyer) NOTE: As some members may recall I am here re-listing this item after having having it earlier withdrawn from sale. I have received numerous enquiries/offers, many from interstate. However I will give preference to a local pick up unless the purchaser is willing to organise and cover ALL the logistics associated with packaging and the insured shipping at his/her own risk. Happy to answer any relevant questions via PM. Richard
