  1. I want to buy a pair of corded open ear headphones which require a headphone jack, but none of my hi fi devices offers a jack socket. . I’d like to use the headphones for listening to records on my turntable as well as digital music from my Eversolo dmp-a6. What’s confusing me is what plugs into what? I know I think I need an analog headphone amp. Open to suggestions on an appropriate headphone amp and where to connect it in the device chain. I’d like to use an input selector between the turntable and Eversolo streamer so hoping that is possible. I’d prefer that over switching cables for each listening session. Eversolo dmp-a6 (streamer only) - denefrips dac 12th-1 - Electrocompaniet EC3 integrated amp - passive speakers. Rega turntable - Rega Aria phono - Electrocompaniet EC3 integrated amp - passive speakers. any help from the folks here is greatly appreciated appreciated.
  2. Further Information: Bought from new (Minidisc - Chatswood), it has been the backbone of my system since 2017 This beautifully designed and well looked after unit is available as I have changed to a smaller DAC as I miniaturise my set-up. Was serviced by Alltech (regional service agent) in 2022. Performance is excellent and cosmetically only has a small scratch on the top/back of the chassis. Can be auditioned or shipped if necessary.
  3. Further Information: I bought this on SNA over 12 months ago, with a wish to hear the legendary PCM1704UK Chips in action. I enjoyed the sound and the music it makes but it doesn't quite suit my system as I prefer balanced and a DAC with volume control. Yes, it does have balanced outputs but the gain is not sufficient for my system. Also, it requires a warm up period of 30 to 60 minutes. As I don't normally leave equipment on when not using I was not always able to enjoy the music when I was intending. As such, I am getting a different DAC to suit my needs. The list of features in the design of this DAC is extensive so please follow the link. The DAC comes with standard power cord. I have the original box so can ship interstate but would definitely prefer pickup. http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/dac/RE7/RE7EN.htm And a review of the Ref 7.1 (NB. Ref 7 has preferred setting rather than being changed) https://darko.audio/2011/04/audio-gd-reference-71-dac-8-x-pcm1704uk/ DAC Reference 7 Specs RCA Output S/N Ratio:>118db Output Level:2.5V Frequency Breadth:20-20KHz
  4. Hi All Unlock the magic of your CDs with the convenience of a quality DAC with optical, coaxial, pc usb and usb inputs. This is the top of the range Yamaha CD player currently retailing at over $7000. This unit was purchased locally through West Coast hifi in June 2021 as a demo model for $4500. It is built like a tank and has an excellent DAC which makes it a versatile digital hub. It has been well reviewed just look on line. This player is in full working order and only letting it go as I have a new digital front end and feel it is wasted as a transport alone. Sorry for the average pictures. Happy to demo for genuine buyers, but will need to fit in around my chemo treatment. Looking at local sale only as I do not have the box. Comes with excellent remote, user manual and can provide basic XLR cables on pickup. I have original receipt for $4500. p PM if you have any questions Cheers Paul
  5. Further Information: In good order and works well including the Chameleon DAC upgrade.
  6. Further Information: Schiit Modi2 Digital to Analogue converter. Little unit produces seriously good music outperforming many more expensive DACs. DAC is in excellent condition never let me down. Selling only because going into combined dac/pre. Can post for AUD 20 Australia wide.
  7. Extra Info: Not looking for the newer Neo 2 - Just the original Neo iDSD Price depends on age, invoice for any warranty, condition etc
  8. Further Information: Chord Hugo TT2 is the benchmark of this level DACs. Help yourself to research online. The one was purchased new from Australian dealer from Nov 21, and registered on Chord at Jan 22 with 3 years warranty. In original box for 9 months and only used for around 100 hours. Nearly new. The price is included the express post within Australia. See the photos and enjoy.
  9. Further Information: Mark Levinson No. 5101 SACD/CD, Network Streamer, DAC in perfect, unmarked condition. Comes with all original packaging, cartons, manuals, and remote. This unit has been used primarily as a DAC with its Precision Link II performing on-par with many hi-end standalone DACs (IMO). Rarely used as a SACD/CD player, but the results here are outstanding, especially on SACD. I have a separate streamer so has never been used for streaming purposes. Two and a half years old with 5-year warranty, this player was purchased new by me from a Melbourne retailer (receipt available on request). *Firmware update performed 08 February 2024* REVIEWS Highly praised in reviews including StereoNet's Mark Gusew: "The company’s engineers have gone to great lengths to keep the noise floor as low as possible, with five individual power supplies for the DAC chip alone – while four more (two per channel) provide power for the analogue output stage. The unit itself has two main sources of power. A special switching power supply provides power for the SACD drive and all the digital circuitry, while a linear power supply with a toroidal transformer and low-noise Schottky rectifiers provides juice for the analogue circuitry" ... VERDICT: "There’s no denying the innate feeling of luxury every time you use Mark Levinson equipment, and this makes ownership rather special. The №5101 continues this sensation, and to my mind, establishes benchmark performance levels for others to aspire to." https://www.stereonet.com/au/reviews/mark-levinson-5101-streaming-sacd-player-dac-review The Absolute Sound said: " there is certainly a case for the No 5101 if you are looking for one of the best possible DACs for streaming...the No 5101 is also exceptionally clean and neutral. If you need any technobabble to support this conclusion, Mark Levinson’s literature notes that the No 5101 has five individual, ultra-low-noise voltage regulators that power an ESS Sabre 32-bit PRO series D/A converter to unleash maximum performance. Proprietary jitter-reduction circuitry and user-selectable digital filters—seven choices for PCM and four for DSD—along with ample regulated power enable the best possible digital reproduction.” https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/mark-levinson-no-5101-network-streaming-sacd-player-and-dac-no-5206-preamplifier-and-no-5302-power-amplifier/ MLNo5101 SPECS GENERAL Output Voltage: 3.0V RMS single-ended at full scale (0dBFS) 6.0V RMS balanced at full scale (0dBFS) Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise: 94dB single-ended (wideband, unweighted, referred to 3V RMS output) >106dB balanced (wideband, unweighted, referred to 6V RMS output) Power Consumption: Standby: <0.4W Power on: 32W Digital Audio Connectors: 1 optical digital input (Toslink) 1 coaxial digital S/PDIF input (RCA) 1 optical digital output (Toslink) 1 coaxial digital S/PDIF output (RCA) Output Connectors: 1 pair single-ended line-level outputs (RCA) 1 pair balanced line-level outputs (XLR) Control And Network Connectors: 1 RS-232 port (DB9 connector) 1 IR input (1/8"/3.5mm phone jack) 1 12V DC trigger input (1/8"/3.5mm phone jack) 1 Ethernet port (RJ-45 connector) 1 USB-A connector 1 Wi-Fi antenna connector (SMA receptacle) Wireless Format: 2.4GHz, 802.11b/g/n Supported File Types: FLAC, WAV, AIFF, OGG up to 24 bit/192kHz DSF, DFF up to 5.6MHz (DSD128/DSD 2X) AAC up to 24 bit/96kHz MP3 up to 320kbps/48kHz WMA up to 192kbps/48kHz Dimensions/Weight (Unit): Height: 4.97"/126mm; Height without feet: 4.50"/114mm; Width: 17.25"/438mm; Depth: 18.36"/466mm; Weight: 25.5 lb/11.5kg Dimensions/Weight (With Packaging): Height: 11"/279mm; Width: 27"/686mm; Depth: 24"/610mm; Weight: 35.7 lb/16.2kg *** If not sold at listed price I'll keep the unit *** First three photos of actual unit...additional are file pics. Lumin T2 Streamer DAC Preamplifier is up for sale. It's less than a year old and still under warranty. I am the original owner, having purchased it from the authorized dealer, Krispy Audio. I acquired it as an interim solution while searching for an all-in-one amplifier. This exceptional product delivers crystal-clear sound from streaming platforms and seamlessly integrates with all major streaming services, including Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, and Airplay 2. The Lumin T2 boasts a high-quality DAC that, in my experience, rivals even the Chord Qutest DAC in A/B testing. Its onboard DAC offers remarkable transparency, an airy soundstage, and impressive resolution when paired with a resolving downstream system. Regarding the T2 vs. T3 model comparison, I auditioned both and found that the sound quality improvement in the T3's DAC was negligible, making the T2 a more cost-effective choice. A standout feature of the Lumin T2 is its capability to upsample to DSD, which significantly enhanced sound quality in my system, particularly with my Pass Labs components. The digital volume control is truly transparent, and in my main Pass Labs setup, I couldn't discern any drop in quality when switching between the analog preamp and the Lumin's volume control. I have all the original packaging available, allowing me to ship anywhere in Australia. Reviews of Lumin T2: Upscale Audio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_E0UUA0mSog OCD Guy: Review and sound demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caoNkgL6ckw If you're looking for a top-tier streaming DAC preamplifier that delivers outstanding sound quality and versatility, don't miss the opportunity to own this Lumin T2. Please feel free to reach out for further details or to arrange a purchase.

It pairs wirelessly with your source device via Bluetooth with no need to worry about whether you’ve got the right cable for your Android or Apple device. Just pair … and GO! Max sonics. Free the Smartphone Traditional wireless headphones or earphones of any kind integrate Bluetooth processing, D/A conversion and amplification onto one, standard ‘off the shelf’ chip. There is a ceiling to the sound quality that can be achieved. Team good corded headphones or in-ear monitors, with a separate, high-quality portable DAC/headphone amp, and your sound quality will beat any pair of wireless headphone or earphones hands down. The GO blu means no compromise on sound quality. Pair the GO blu to your Apple/Android. Connect your favourite corded headphones to the GO blu and then tuck it away, it’s so petite it will slip into your running gear or suit pocket. It’s also gorgeous enough to show off by leaving it on the table at your favourite coffee shop! Super Sound. Assured. Most pocket-size Bluetooth DAC/headphone amps incorporate all-in-one ‘system on a chip’ solutions to deliver input processing, digital-to-analogue signal conversion and amplification. Not the GO blu. Uniquely, for a device of this type and size, the GO blu’s clever design packs in separate Bluetooth, DAC and amp stages, each engineered in distinct blocks to deliver the ideal combination of cutting-edge specification and superb sound. HD Bluetooth. The GO blu uses the same Bluetooth 5.1 as seen in other recent iFi products. Furthermore, we have separated the modules so that every last drop of audio quality is unmatched. And when you wish, just use the USB-C connection and enjoy High-Res USB audio too! The balance of power The Go blu amp circuitry benefits from symmetrical twin-mono signal paths and utilises iFi’s Direct Drive design concept. Plus it incorporates circuit components of a quality not commonly found in a device of this kind. This means ultra-low distortion across the entire signal bandwidth. The sound is purer, clearer and more naturally expressive. The amp stage delivers up to 5.6V, considerably more power than others. It handles tough headphone loads with ease. Auto-gain adjusts output up or down by 6dB to ensure signal strength suits the sensitivity of the connected headphones/earphones. Swiss ‘Chrono’ design and implementation. GO blu‘s ChronoDial is a masterpiece of precision engineering and, just like a Chronograph, it gives you precise, analogue volume control. You can use it to play, pause, and skip tracks forward and backwards and even activate the voice assistant on your Bluetooth-connected smart device. GO Balanced. Whether you use balanced or non-balanced headphones, you get the least noise and best channel separation for the most enjoyable music. The GO blu boasts a Pentaconn 4.4mm output enabling headphones equipped with balanced connectivity to take full advantage of the GO blu’s balanced amp design. In addition, the 3.5mm output benefits from iFi’s proprietary S-Balanced circuitry. This cuts crosstalk and related distortion in half when used with regular, single-ended headphone connections, this is especially beneficial with high-sensitivity in-ear monitors. Both outputs are gold-plated to resist tarnishing and thereby maintain optimum contact quality. X-factor. Inside and out. With XBass to add back lost low-end grunt and XSpace to widen the soundstage, the GO blu is small on the outside but mighty on the inside. You will be immersed in its majestic musicality. The X-factor doesn’t stop with the sound. The GO blu is built like a luxury Swiss watch the volume control has a watch crown machined by a watchmaker for the tightest of tolerances and has the luxury feel of Mont Blanc, thanks to our French product designer. Made with the latest, most hi-tech materials and weighing in at a super featherlight 26grams or 0.06lbs, it will be your ‘go-to’ music device.
  13. Further Information: Hi All selling a new Eversolo Z8 dac, it’s new in box in new condition. the unit was purchased to test and write a review. it’s had potentially a week worth of hours so may still require burn in. the unit sells for $1200 AUD at the moment. See link to more details below and full specifications. https://www.selby.com.au/newsletter/eversolo-dac-z8.html It’s a great DAC sounds awesome. The es9038pro is their flagship dac, more info on the linked pdf. https://www.esstech.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/ES9038PRO-Datasheet-v3.7.pdf Paired with a good quality amp and speakers the sound is warm and resolving, good sound stage and fantastic with different sized rooms just use the filter to adjust for room size which corrects the frequency fall off to suit the room. please read the instructions when it comes to using the filters they are room sized based, you won’t notice a difference immediately when switching between filters and sitting close, the difference is clear when used correctly and speakers positioned appropriately. The preamp function works great and allows for both single ended and balanced to function at the same time if required. use the bundled remote which I prefer as I’m a tactile person or switch over the the android/ iOS app for the full feature set at your finger tips, super convenient. Sing out if you have any questions. ””Cheers G

  17. Further Information: Previously bought from another user on this forum. Planning to "upgrade" to a device with more native AirPlay capabilities. This is a very old but still a very well regarded and featured DAC with streaming capabilities when used with Logitech Media Server. Condition is good for a device this age, all functions work as expected. Just a few things that should be noted: Previous user appears to have placed seperates ontop of the Transporter. Its difficult to see but there are feet marks ontop of the unit - I have tried to show one of the two marks I could find. This is the newest model - it does not have the knob. All controls are done through the remote. You cannot have a digital input AND digital output operating simultaneously. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

  19. Please Note: Local sale unless you've an account with Pack & Send. If so I can drop the unit to the local Pack & Send. You'll need to arrange courier with them. Further information: Selling as I purchased the VTL Reference from another member. More a step sideways though welcome as it has more sonic differences to my Abbas DAC. I like each of my systems to sound more different than similar to each other so I don't tire of listening. The thread created when I purchased this: NOS Phillips TDA1540D DAC - Digital Sources, DACs, and Computer Audio - StereoNET International From original sellers listing: "This version has undergone PK testing and adjustment for more than a year. If you don’t look at the chip in advance, you can’t imagine that this sound was made by 1540. The digital receiving part uses soft control 8805 WM8805 uses single-chip microcomputer software control, the digital receiving module can support 44.1K 48K 88.2K 96K 176.4K 192K, but in OS mode, digital filter SAA7030 only supports 44.1 and 48K; NOS mode (with SAA7030 removed) can support up to 192K playback. The soft control 8805 can make the 8805 work in the best state; the actual test found that the soft control 8805 is more detailed and analytical than the 8412, and the line feel is better Digital processing chip uses SAA7030 Phillips TDA1540D DAC – Ceramic packaging The output stage uses a specially designed open-loop current buffer module, and the resistors on the board all use high-precision wafer resistors Chip capacitors use X7R COG All resistors use DALE resistors, capacitors use ROE Philips and other HIFI supplement level capacitors Use high-speed high-current diode for power rectification" Photos:
