Hi SNA Are there any decent 8 channel power amplifiers with balanced XLR inputs under 5K AUD? Preferably class D topology to power the surrounds and Atmos channels. Wishing to get rid of Receiver (which is currently powering the surrounds) and go full separates with a new processor and amp. LCRs are sorted already and subs are powered. My research has not revealed many great results, at least ones that are available in Aus. Preferably do not want to go two 4 channel amps, if I can help it. There are a ton of options in US ones but they are not that readily available here. eg: Monolith, Emotivas, Starke Sound, etcetera but something like Elektra Theatre HD amp if available in 8 channels, would have been perfect.! Quite a few amps are rated high on power, on paper but fine print shows that it is when 1 or two channels driven which is disappointing. Thanks. -
Hi Anyone used a Naim pre-Amp with a non-Naim power amp? Main Question: Is the Naim character still evident? Here's some bold statements I love the Pace, Rhythm, and Timing that you get with early Naim gear, but would love more soundstage and detail that seems to be offered by other brands. I was thinking my NAC62 coupled with a NordOne Power Amp, which I am told reflects rather closely what the pre-amp supplies (good or bad). Any thoughts??

Further information: This is an 80 watt amp, doubles to 160 at 4 ohms. It's small – 24cm wide x 21cm deep x 5cm tall – and unobtrusive, with one dim red light telling you it's on. Very quiet, powerful amp. Can post anywhere, in its original box. The only one I could find online at the moment is plus $1000, but they often used to sell for $700 online. Takes banana plus only.
