Further Information: Got these at Addicted To Audio in Perth not too long ago .. listened to a bunch of different headphone, amp and DAC combos for my budget at the time and came out with these and a Dragonfly Red with the intention of upgrading the DAC at a later stage and keeping the Dragonfly for portability. I really, really liked the combo for the warmth and response in the lows and mids and its clarity in the highs. I know the trend is for open backs because SOUNDSTAGE but do you have an absolutely silent room you can enjoy some in? The sound leakage (both ways) on those things is crazy. You will hear all the ambient noise around you as you try to enjoy your music and you will also annoy anyone in the room that may be with you. The second reason I chose closed backs was the sound, there's just a lot of presence in the lows and mids and clarity throughout the spectrum. The lows hug you and the highs give you a nice tingle in your earballs. The reason I'm selling them though is that I'm moving back to my home country and I also realised I was a speaker guy .. RIP my bank account. Part of me does really want to keep them though, they're just so cool and I want to show them to my friends when I get home but that's not a good enough reason to keep them .. but if no one buys them, I wouldn't be unhappy. I might finally upgrade to a proper headphone DAC too. Further information: It’s happening. I’m selling my child. I love these headphones to death, but I’m in a “bad for the wallet” environment and always have my eyes on the next thing. Audeze LCD-3s, with 2020 Drivers, carbon fibre headband upgrade and brand new black leather pads. I also sourced the better Audeze cable with Rean connectors, instead of the usuals. I paid for new drivers to avoid channel imbalance as they were being used professionally, so they’re critically accurate.
