  1. Further Information: Available is a set of surround speakers from Definitive Technology -- Floor Standing speakers BP9060 (2 nos) and BP9040 (2 nos), Centre speaker CS9080 (1 no) and Dolby Atmos speakers A90 (2 nos). The floor standing speakers and centre speaker can be powered to use in-built subwoofer. With all speakers powered up, you can get Dolby Atmos 5.5.2 set up. A90 are modular atmos speakers that can be added on top of BP9060 and BP9040. With addition of extra A90 speakers, one can get 5.5.4 setup. My home theatre receiver (Arcam AVR390) only had 7 channels of amplification, so could not add additional A90 speakers without requiring additional amplifier. I do have the original boxes for all the speakers, so can ship if required, but it's going to be quite bulky. Prefer a local pickup. I can supply a full set of Wireworld Stream 8 speaker cables (1.5m for front/centre/atmos and 5m for surround) with banana connectors (if required). For those who need a full HT set up, I can throw in Arcam AVR390 receiver for reasonable price. Please message me if you need any other details.
  2. Further information: Purchased new in July 2021. Time to move them on, as they've basically been sitting in their boxes for the past 6 months. Used these as up-firing Atmos speakers, sitting on top of Oberon 5s for awhile and had a good time with them. Since moving to an apartment, have moved on from the home theatre dream for now. 9.5/10 as there is a small mark/discolouration on one bottom-left corner of one of the speaker's finish. This has been there since the day I unboxed them and it didn't bother me enough to return them (lockdown woes), as I originally intended to wall mount them anyway. I don't find the mark to be noticeable at any reasonable distance, but have attached a macro photo from my phone camera. Comes in original box, with receipt, and an extra set of adhesive rubber feet (8 in total, 4 per speaker). Happy for any potential purchaser to come through and have a listen to them in stereo for testing purposes, but I no longer have an AVR to run any Atmos/3D processing (sadly). https://www.dali-speakers.com/en/products/alteco/alteco-c-1?sku=264300 - Vincent
  3. Further information: Brought these last weekend off abother member with aspirations to replace my klipsch Quintets on thr roof with them. Logistically speaking, i was a tad over ambitious, placement regarding listening angles became troublesome. Not looking to flip, just wanting to pass them on for what i paid. Condition is 9/10, just a couple white blemishes on one, could probably get them off if you rub more aggressively or use a soft plastic scraper. Have not hooked them up to my system, however i have heard them work there magic when i brought them. Sweet little units. Can also look for the previous seller's listing fot anything i may have missed. Price is firm, priority will be given to those local around thr Melbourne area. Not particularly keen on splitting them up. Also comes with 4 wall brackets to mount them to wall/roof. 4. Hey guys I've searched Reddit, Google, various HTforums and FB extensively so this isn't just a lazy shitpost for advice that I could've looked up myself. Is there a website that tracks speaker make/models for comparison purposes, is there some holy online almanac i can reference? because finding specs & reviews on older systems seems overly hard to do. Currently I'm looking for info on; Whafedale acromatic 5.1 , and I can't find reviews. So now I'm asking the hivemind to share it's common wisdom. The Reason: This 5.1 set looks pretty, maybe too large, but they are made in China and no one is talking about them so I don't know whether to pull the trigger or not. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/850711728759586/ The situation: Basically I'm starting fresh on my first budget HT build in over a decade and I'm looking to ultimately build up to a 5.2.2 to accompany my Denon TX-NR575E & LG 55" C9 & fill a 2.8x3m rented space in QLD with that sweet sweet 4k Amtos for under $500AUD. The challenges: The Receiver manual states: ".1%THD, y Hz, Front, 8ohms @ 85w/channel, 6 @ 100w & 4 @ 135w" I don't know which impedance will sound better at lower volumes. I also dont know what they mean by "front" like wtf does that mean? What about the back? And I'm not sure about the rules re mixing and matching ohms across channels, but I know I have to tell the AVR if I'm using 4-5ohms so it can adjust but I don't think it's channel specific so I'm looking for either 6-8ohms across the board, or all 4s. Do subwoofers count as channels or no because they're powered? The theatre is a 90° trapezium shape where the long straight has no wall, is high traffic and opens to the house, the acute angle is glass on both sides beneath 200mm of plaster butting a concrete ceiling, and the sound stage will be across the only solid wall at the 90° end with the couch parallel 2m away. Because I have a 4yo son there can be No front facing ports, exposed cones or control switches. Sub Woofer: Down facing SW/s preferred () or 2x matching undercouch capable SWs (<~300/350mmH) would be awesome. And I can even mount them to the underside of the couch if they're <250mm on an edge. Can I use HTiB subs with an AVR? Does that work? Monoprice have an appealling option if they're a trustworthy brand. Fronts: Medium sized, as in ~250x300mm footprint and has to be flat topped in case I get atmos enabled add-ons - although I'll probably just angle some random satellites. Center: needs to match Fronts and be clear at low volumes so I don't wake the kid and smaller the better for aesthetics. Surrounds: need to be unobtrusive.. Heights: I haven't gotten permission to mount anything yet, and the ceiling is concrete anyway so I'm going to have to bounce something off of it if I can't attach to the wall. Monoprice Ebay have the lowest price so far inc delivery, but like other brands I can't find specs or reviews anywhere, which is really frustrating because they could kill the Surround and Rear Height birds with one tidy stone although it is 3/5 of the budget. https://www.ebay.com/itm/392304944188 Usage: 40% TV, 40%movies, 10% Music, 10% gaming. Right now the TV has the only speaker in the whole house and I loathe TV so the idea is to encourage myself to be inside "together" rather than outside alone smoking, drinking and scrolling with headphones on. So that's pretty much my life story. Wish me luck. Feel free to point me in a direction. Apologies for the mobile formatting TL;DR: I did the best I could.
  5. I've got 4 x Accent Plus by KUSTOM speakers. I've been using them as height speakers for an Atmos setup but now I timber matched my setup so no longer need them. They are essentially re-badged Paradigm: (they are exactly the same) http://www.paradigm.com/products-current/series=pv/model=pv-160/page=overview They sound surprisingly good for what they are. About 3 months old. Asking $250.00 for the 4 of them, absolute steal. Pick up from Sydney or will ship at buyers' expense.
