  2. I am decluttering and getting rid of a few things. Many of the below items free/donation to SNA or charity of your choice but up to you. Locals preferred as most of the stuff is giveaway. Item: Officeworks 10 metre HDMI cable Location: Adelaide Price: $30 Item Condition: As new Reason for selling: No longer using projector Payment Method: Pickup - cash or bank transfer Extra Info: Popular on these forums as a reliable 10m HDMI cable for 4K. Note: bought it hoping it would work but didn't have success from a Yamaha receiver to my old projector. Therefore used once and upgraded to the EzyHD cable. Your mileage may vary. Item: XCD TV Stand Location: Adelaide Price: $50 ONO Item Condition: Very good to excellent Reason for selling: I couldn't get my TV to mount straight. Your mileage may vary. Payment Method: Pickup - cash or bank transfer Extra Info: Bought this to mount a 65 inch oled on top of a cabinet. It leant forward too much for my liking. It may be better on a small TV but my OCD side meant I had to buy a different stand. Same as the one here: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/xcd-adjustable-tv-desk-stand-37-70. I still have all the bolts etc. Item: HDMI extender 50 metre over cat 6 (Full HD) Location: Adelaide Price: $ Donation to SNA or charity of your choosing ON HOLD Item Condition: Very good to excellent Reason for selling: No longer needed Extra Info: Discontinued item from Jaycar. I have ended up streaming everything now after upgrading to a MESH network at home. Same as these ones here: https://www.jaycar.com.au/hdmi-over-single-cat6-extender/p/AC1732 Item: HDMI extender ezyhd version. Has IR capability (Full HD) Location: Adelaide Price: $ Donation to SNA or charity of your choosing ON HOLD Item Condition: Very good to excellent Reason for selling: No longer needed Extra Info: Started to stream Kayo so no longer required. I had some issues with handshaking but again your mileage may vary. Using the splitter listed below sometimes fixes the handshake Item: HDMI 1080p switch x2 Location: Adelaide Price: $ Donation to SNA or charity of your choosing ON HOLD Item Condition: Very good to excellent Reason for selling: No longer needed Extra Info: Upgrade to 4K and no longer required. Can be useful if you need to split a 1080p signal (like we used to with the Nintendo switch and Wii U) Item: Belkin wireless AV extender Location: Adelaide Price: $ Donation to SNA or charity of your choosing ON HOLD Item Condition: Fair to good Reason for selling: No longer needed. Used this for foxtel to a second room. Was pretty solid. Has IR extension but that was pretty flaky I thought. If I just wanted to watch a footy match in a second room it worked well. Not sure how reliable they are now with many modems also running on the 5GHz signal. Anyway, it's free so if you need a wireless solution come and grab it. Item: Logitech remotes with wifi hub Location: Adelaide Price: $ Donation to SNA or charity of your choosing ON HOLD Item Condition: Good to very good Reason for selling: No longer needed. Wife prefers buttons and old school style logitech remotes Extra Info: These can operate over your network and work with the logitech hub. They have preset buttons that you can assign to different activities but no screen which you can label the activity. So, it's best used in a wireless type set up on your phone to make life easier. Of course if you only have a few activities and can remember which activity is assigned to which button then you won't need the luxury of a screen. Item: Yamaha HTR 5640 receiver. No HDMI Location: Adelaide Price: $ Donation to SNA or charity of your choosing Item Condition: Very good to excellent Reason for selling: Self explanatory... component is the highest video input quality. Extra Info: What you see is what you get. It's been gathering dust at my parents' place for the last few years.

  6. Item: Fostex TR50RP mk3 orthodynamic planar "ribbon" headphones Location: Adelaide Price: 160 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Not going to use - bought with a view to mod but went in another direction - never modded. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal (buyer pays fees), COD Only Extra Info: As new, in box. I bought these maybe to mod as per the many happy folks on head-fi that did mk1 and 2s (though these are the mk3s and many people seem to like them stock too, unlike the previous models) but I very seldom use headphones and have gone another way. Pictures: Pictures are generic but these are unmarked and as they came to me. I've had them on my head maybe three times to test sensitivity. Reviews *language warning*:
  7. Item: Marantz PS17SA converted to power amp only operation Location: Adelaide Price: 350 Item Condition: Good - modified - see pics, functionally excellent. Reason for selling: Too many ampliifers Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: This whole series of Marantz products is highly desirable and sounds great. You'll need a volume controlled source - PC/MAC, Streamer, suitable DAC or preamplifier etc to use this one. For sale - Marantz 19kg PS17SA Integrated amp converted to power amp only operation. The op-amp based A/V preamp and digital EQ sections were removed to leave a great sounding *entirely analogue* Marantz power amplifier functionally identical to their SM17SA in stereo. You'll need a preamp (or a level controlled input from PC/Mac, music streamer - like squeezebox say, DAC, CD player etc) for this one! These retailed for big bucks so it's a neat way to get really top shelf sound for less than a top shelf price. Silmic PSU caps, HDAM input buffers and beautifully designed heavy chassis results in *superb* sound. I think even to DIY with these kinds of quality parts would cost you considerably more money so the value is there. If you've been missing low-level detail and need something with both finesse and a reasonable amount of power this might be the one you've been waiting for. This is one very clear and grain free amp with excellent resolution and timing. Marantz actually did make a power amp only version in this series (as well as another integrated, the PM17SA). You can see internal images of the PS17SA and SM17SA in the last two pictures. What you have here is a the first but converted functionally (and sonically) equivalent to the second, minus the bridging switch - for a lot less money. The mains side/PSU/switch on mute and speaker protection remains as factory shipped so there are no safety implications here. To quote an independent reviewer: "Common sound attributes for the PS-17SA and SM-17SA:- Musical- Overall warm tonal balance- Good bass control and extension- Smooth through most of frequency range, but upper treble has very slight treble edge (not a issue with my loudspeakers)- Very quiet, virtually no hiss even with ear against loudspeaker- Precise sound staging, good channel separation- Fast and transparent, particularly with simple music scores, but not as good on complex music passages (compared to the much more expensive Plinius SA250MKIV - see my review)- Power output (60W/8ohm) seems to be more than adequate for my loudspeakersUnlike the Hifi Choice review on the PM-17Mkii & SM-17, I do not find the PS-17SA and SM-17SA lacking in bass control or finesse. I do not know whether this is a reflection on the review or if there was marked improvement made to the SA version. Interesting, the PM-19 (older discontinued model) did sound flabby and constricted."This is a high current design providing 60W real watts into 8ohm load and 100W into 4. The power amplifier sections across this whole series are identical and improved from the non-SA versions. I find the treble very clean and extended and to have excellent bass control of my multi-driver Peerless HDS towers at my listening levels levels in a large room - so I don't feel power will be a concern for the majority of people. My Dynaudio Focus 160s even sound lovely on it. It's able to deliver more power than the PM6004's 45W into 4 and 60 into 8ohm anyhow and people seem pretty pleased with those at $800. This series is true audiophile quality, made in Japan stuff and not just a big name with a pretty faceplate and Chinese cruft inside. 8. Item: Dali 7A Three-Way Loudspeakers Location: Adelaide Price: 400 Item Condition: Very good Reason for selling: Too many speakers Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, COD Only Extra Info: Very nice quality 3 ways with heavy cabinet, Danish Vifa Drivers, good dispersion and even frequency response. These have sounded great on several amplifiers I've tried them with. Nice scale with natural treble and lively mids. Acoustic guitar and vocals sound gorgeous and they don't do bad things with strings, harmonica and the like. Much nicer than the current Dali offerings in chain stores and easy to drive. Happy to demo in Eden Hills. The tweeters are perfect, there's a reflection in the pictures but they are not dented/deformed. These also have proper binding posts for banana plugs - not the spring clips as you see on the cheapies and some vintage models. Woofer surrounds are in excellent nic - not sticky etc and those ghostly light smudges are from my sad camera phone that makes them out of tiny dust bits in the air apparently. 8/ They look better in the flesh. 9. Item: 18" Krix Cinema Sub with JBL driver Location: Adelaide Price: $300 Item Condition: Functionally excellent, cosmetics are average - some scratches but no cracks. Reason for selling: Starting another sub project. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash,COD Only Extra Info: Roughly 23x30x36 inches. It's big! The chap that I bought this from said the driver was worth more than I'm asking for the whole thing but I'm no JBL expert. It looks to be in nice condition though. The box is amazingly robust and looks like it's made out of heavy marine ply. It's built like a battleship. You'll need a van or ute or a little trailer to carry the thing I think.. though I managed to *just* fit it in a Ford Focus hatch from memory! I don't remember seeing any marks on the cone so I think the ones you see in the flash photo are probably dust marks from my fingers. Pictures:
  10. Item: Bewitch 6550/KT88 Tube Amplifier Location: Adelaide Price: $850 Item Condition: Excellent cosmetics and function Reason for selling: Too many amplifiers Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, COD Only Extra Info: This amplifier has upgraded Brimar input tubes and has seen little use in a back-up system. Pick up in Adelaide only please. This one has some very nice romance to the sound available via triode mode (it is switchable triode/ultralinear) and enough power to drive conventional speaker designs as opposed to only high efficiency models. It might be a nice solution for someone for whom smaller single ended models just don't have the juice and it images like a champ. It seems nicely made compared to some I've had before too. Controls are smooth and quiet. No sonic dramas (odd pops and other weird sounds) in operation as I've sometimes heard and no discernible hum on any of my speakers. Great amp. 8) Specs: Output Power : ULTRA LINEAR 60W x 2 / TRIODE 30W x 2Output Tube : 6550 x 4 Russian tubesFrequency : 13Hz-60KHz(-1dB)Signal/Noise Ratio : 89dBInput/Driver Tube : 5Z4P x 2, 6N8P x 2, 6N9P x 2Input Sensitivity : 500mvInput Impedance : 100k ohmOutput Impedance : 8 ohm & 4 ohmHarmonic Distortion : 0.1%Source Input : Tape, CD and AuxSize Dimension : W 350mm x H 165mm x L 436mmColour : BlackWeight : 28kg Pictures:
  11. Item: Dynaudio Stand 3X Location: Adelaide Price: $300 $200 Item Condition: Used but as new Reason for selling: I have too many stands! Payment Method: Pickup - Cash,COD Only Extra Info: Pictures are generic and these are heavy so it's pick up only please. I bought these from another SNA member with Focus 160s as a package but I already have several pairs of stands and frankly these are too good looking for me. 8) Pictures:
  12. Item: VAF Signature i33 speakers and VAF 3m SC Location: Adelaide Price: $2700 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Upgraded Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Upgraded over 2 years ago (Magico S1). They have seen very little use since then. In perfect working order. Cosmetically great. American Cherry finish. Banana to banana 3m cables made by VAF for the i33. Would prefer local pick up as I don't have the boxes but willing to post otherwise at buyer's expense. Can audition for locals. Pictures:

  17. Hi everyone, I am new to the scene and lacking experience, I keep finding myself on this site through researching my dedicated home theatre so figured I would sign up and say hello. Currently I am in the process of building a new house and have been busy designing and coming up with ideas for the dedicated home theatre. Like I said, this is all fairly new to me, I don't have any friends or family that have more than a passing interest in home audio equipment so would appreciate any suggestions/opinions. At this stage the floor plans are all laid out but the contract has not been signed, I am planning the home theatre layout and it is lots of fun. After much research I am leaning heavily towards Adelaide Speakers for my setup, I have auditioned a handful of speakers including Klipsch, Splendor, Energy, Krix, VAF and Adelaide Speakers really sound great especially for the price, admittedly I was really impressed with VAF but the price difference just doesn't feel justified for the perceived improvement over what I heard at Adelaide Speakers. The 7.2 setup I am considering is as follows: SUMMONER 1093's for the fronts. TRIO CENTRE 253 or 453 for the centre. 2 x 1230STL for Subs. F63V Surround Array and F612PV's for the rears. The home theatre will be for movies, TV and music. Suggestions as to what sort of receiver I will need to drive these speakers will be welcome, I'm thinking the Denon AVR-3313 or AVR-X4000, will I need something with more guts or an amp? I have attached some pics of what I have in mind, though it is constantly changing. Let me know what you all think, positives and criticisms. What are some things that you would do differently if you were in my situation, anyone who has built a dedicated home theatre before what are some things you wish you knew before you started? Cheers, and look forward to hearing your thoughts. Beast Man

Location: Adelaide Price: $1050 Item Condition: 9/10 Reason for selling: I was using them as rear speakers, upgraded to DCX Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: As mentioned it was a custom speaker Vaf made, Not a production model so Rare, I managed to buy a set of DCX from here, $25 donation if sold from here, price is ono as I think there is a limit to how many speakers one man can own Pictures:
