Reason for selling: Upgraded to Antipodes DX2 Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Everything you need for a great sounding Digital File Playback system. Ideal for anyone wanting to enter the world of digital music. Easy to setup and use. Plays most digital files up to 24/192. Can demonstrate how good this combination sounds and also explain how it functions. Have boxes for all units so happy to assist the buyer with their choice of courier. W4S Music Server 2 - http://www.deephzaudio.com/Wyred 4 sound Music Server 2T product page.html I'm the original owner bought from Peter Thompson at Deep Hz Audio. You will need to speak to Peter whether this MS2 unit is comparable to the latest units as far as upgrading to SSD and 32bit audio if you wish to do so. This unit has a 2TB HDD (with about 1.3TB worth of music in Flac files) and 2GB memory. Music buffers into the memory before playback so no music plays directly from the hard drive, eliminating any lag/jitter issues. Rips CDs to internal HDD or simply transfer files over your network from another source. Comes with the original standard power pack. Core Audio Technology Kaia Gen 2 Linear Power Supply - http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/core-audio-announces-new-linear-power-supplies/ A beast of a power supply. This took the sound quality of the MS2 to a much greater level of detail and openness with a blacker background. Honestly, the W4S MS2 with this LPS unit has a similar sound to my Antipodes DX2. Light Harmonic Labs Geek Pulse Dac - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017VY2VI6/ref=emc_b_5_t Perfect condition. ESS9018K2M Core Dac IC. Can convert bit rates of 1 bit, 16 bit, 24 bit, or 32 bit. It decodes sample rates of 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 96 kHz, 176.4 kHz, 192 kHz, 352.8 kHz, 384 kHz, 2.822 MHz, 3.072 MHz, 5.644 MHz, and 6.144 MHz. If asking price is met, I'll throw in an Analysis Plus Digital Crystal Coaxial Interconnect - https://www.sydneyhificastlehill.com.au/shop/cables/coaxial-cables/analysis-plus-digital-crystal/ Samsung Galaxy Tab3 10.1 - http://www.samsung.com/uk/tablets/galaxy-tab-3-10-1-p5210zwabtu/ running the Orange Squeeze app which is a third party app that looks and functions better than the standard squeezebox app. Pictures:
  2. Item: Wyred 4 Sound DAC-1 with femto clock upgrade Location: Sth Gold Coast Price: $900 (probably be able to incl. freight to eastern metro areas) Item Condition: Near mint Reason for selling: Going to have a change. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal (+ any fees), COD Only Extra Info: DAC was purchased new from Deep Hz Audio about 12 months old with Femto clock upgrade which cost an additional $300. I decided on the DAC-1 with upgrade over the DAC-2 as I didn't need the pre-amp or other features and by all accounts SQ is pretty close between the two. The USB on this unit is limited to 24/96 but goes higher over coaxial (and toslink I assume). Non-DSD version too. I've really enjoyed this DAC but thought I would have a change. Here is an old review of the DAC-1. There is more info out there on the DAC-2 which does have I2S and AES/EBU and Wyred 4 Sound Low ESR super-caps however the DAC-2 info will give you a good idea of performance. Here is the W4S link including features and specification. This is for the current V2 model although the features list seems identical other than higher resolution over USB. Pictures: Normally I would try and provide better pics for this type of sale but not in a position to pull DAC out at the moment. Happy to provide more pics to serious buyer but I know the unit is in excellent condition.

  5. Hi folks, After just reading that the local price for the Wyred 4 sound remedy reclocker has gone up from $430 to $550 I'm thinking there might be plenty of other fish in the sea that do the same thing. It would be appreciated if anyone can suggest similar devices and their experience, comparison or opinion of them. I can start with my own experience. I own an old Audio Alchemy DTI Pro32 reclocker and I recently connected the coax from my pc to this and then to a nad m51. It was an obvious and decent improvement in sound quality. I'm thinking another reclocker like the remedy or Audio gd would be useful. The Audio gd has usb input as well as spdif where as the W4S only has spdif. Thanks in advance, L11
  6. Item: Wyred 4 Sound STP-SE Preamp (black) Location: Canberra, ACT Price: $1200 ono plus postage Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Need the cash Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: This is a fantastic stereo preamp, definitely a high quality unit. Solidly built and is a fantastic control centre, with 5 inputs (3 RCA, 2 XLR) and 4 outputs (2 RCA, 2 XLR) with bypass option on all 5 inputs. It allowed me to use it as a control centre for my music/movie room which has an AV pre-pro, turntable, DAC and ipod dock as inputs, and run outputs to my amp for front speakers, a headphone amp, a sub, and an amp in a 2nd room (and still one output to spare). Reviews: http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/wyred2/preamp.html http://www.highfidelityreview.com/wyred4sound-stp-se.html http://www.stereotimes.com/amp082912.shtml As the review suggest it is as close to invisible as you could get, not altering the tonal balance and dynamics of my sources which are high end, including the PS Perfect Wave DAC and a ClearAudio Emotion SE II TT. If anything I feel it does present an engaging 3D soundstage with some subtle but notable air and space between instruments. I purchased this unit second hand from a Stereo Net member middle 2013 - originally purchased from Deep HZ Audio in late 2011. I've had change of circumstances and I need cash and I'm stripping back my system to bare essentials. Comes with original internal packaging and double boxing, plus owners manual and remote and 240V power cable. Pictures:

These are W4S's current top of the tree mono's. 570w in 8ohm, 1,140w in 4ohm. Pictures:

  9. Item: Wyred 4 Sound DAC 2 Black (PRICE REDUCTION) Location: Sydney Price: $1100 (Shipping Included within Australia) Item Condition: Immaculate condition Reason for selling: Not being used. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: The unit has barely burned in and has been in storage most of it's life. Comes with all original packaging. The unit is identical to the picture shown (Black unit, silver buttons) but i'd prefer not to open up the box to take pictures unless necessary. I am selling this unit for a friend who is overseas indefinitely. Pictures:
  10. Item: Wyred 4 Sound SX-1000 Monoblocks (Pair) AND Wyred 4 Sound SX-500 Monoblocks (Pair) - both sets in black. Location: Canberra Price: SX-1000 Pair $2125.00, SX-500 Pair $1630.00 - plus postage and paypal, $20 donation to Stereonet per pair. Item Condition: Immaculate (see photos) Reason for selling: I'm playing - I'm very happy with my system but want to try something new. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Bank transfer. Extra Info: I am selling two sets of Wyred 4 Sound monoblock amplifiers, one set of SX-1000s, and one set of SX-500s. They sound essentially identical, but the SX-1000s are higher powered (570w into 8Ohms vs 250w into 8Ohms), so they will drive a more difficult speaker with greater headroom. Both are outstanding amplifiers, and while other amplifiers beat them in specific areas I haven't heard better all-rounders for less than $10k retail. The SX-1000 retail for $3k a pair in Australia, while the SX-500 retail for $2350 a pair in Australia. The SX-1000s have won The Absolute Sound's Editors Choice Award for four years running now, and the SX-500s are just as good. The amplifiers are in excellent condition and I have all the original packaging etc. I've included photos or one set of amplifiers, and not the others, but they look identical. There are a huge number of glowing reviews on the net - I'll let you find those on your own - but here is my own review (which is, I think, a little more realistic than some of the over-the-top reviews that can be found): Well, it hasn't been 300 hours yet (the suggested run in time for the amplifiers), but I think I can put some words down now. I'll get straight to the point: the Wyred 4 Sound Sx-1000 monoblocks are something special. They are effortlessly powerful, effortlessly controlled, and effortlessly detailed - 570 watts into 8 Ohms allows means that the amplifiers just NEVER sound strained. Yet despite the high power the SX-1000s are not hulking brutes. Unlike some high power (and high end) class A/AB amplifiers I've listened to, these class D amplifiers give an even-handed performance with no one aspect of the musical spectrum receiving undue attention or emphasis. Bass is powerful but not the overdone or mechanical; mids are astonishingly detailed but have a smoothness that prevents listener fatigue; and highs are full bodied, without unnatural hi-fi shimmer. Some reviewers have suggested that these amplifiers have a presentation towards the cold end of the musical spectrum. They don't. If anything, these amplifiers are a little warmer than neutral. Some reviewers have suggested that these amplifiers have world leading dynamics. They don't. They are dynamic enough to provide plenty of drama but they slightly soften leading edges, making them, ultimately, comfortable listening at any volume with any recording. If they excel with any type of music, it is with strings, particularly the lower registers of the cello and piano. Voices also sound amazing, and impressive detail through the upper mids provides an almost holographic sense of recording space. Speaking of space, the sound-stage is both wide and high, though not as deep as some amplifiers I've listened to. Instruments are precisely placed and have good stability, however a slight softening of the highs means that plucked strings sound more diffuse than they might. Many reviews have reported (with almost plagiaristic similarity) that the SX-1000s have an unbelievably low noise floor - comments about blacker than black backgrounds abound. I'm not sure what the technical details are here (and don't really care), but again, my experience goes against the received wisdom. The background is dark enough, very good for it's price class, but it is closer to charcoal than obsidian. What the SX-1000s are good at, is being very good at ALL things, not at being exceptional at SOME things. These amplifiers product mid to high-end sound, for a low to mid-end price. I haven't said anything about the physical aspects of the amplifiers yet (this is of secondary importance to me), but quickly: the SX-1000s are better looking (in black) than I was expecting, and very well made. By this I mean they are perfectly pleasant looking - rather than outright ugly - but if you want audio jewellery you should look elsewhere. All in all, these are great amplifiers for a great price, and they'll be staying in my system for a long time to come - or at least until I want to try something new. 11. Item: Wyred 4 Sound DAC2 - Black Location: Brisbane Price: $1000 plus Postage Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Upgraded Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Direct Deposit Extra Info: I Bought this Dac new in September 2011 from the Australian Distributor (Deep Hz Audio) and it comes with all original Packaging; manuals and cables and is in as new condition. It is a very nice sounding DAC which uses the ESS Sabre 9018 Processor Chips. The sound is best described as highly detailed but without being overly analytical. The Dac2 is high on features including 24/192 Async USB input; 1 x AES/EBU, 2 x SPDIF, 2 x Toslink and I2S inputs; Remote control; Home theatre Bypass & Volume Control. The Volume Control and HT bypass mean that you can potentially skip using a dedicated preamp in your system which is how I used to use this DAC. Reviews are here: http://www.stereomojo.com/Wyred%20for%20Sound%20DAC%202%20Review/WyredforSoundDAC2Review.html http://www.avguide.com/review/wyred-4-sound-dac-2-digital-analog-converter-tas-210 www.6moons.com/audioreviews/wyred4/dac.html The DAC2 retailed for AU$1950 when I bought it less than 18 months ago and it is still the current top of the line W4S Dac. I have priced it for a quick sale. Pictures:

  14. Item: Wyred 4 Sound DAC2 (Black) Location: Canberra Price: $1180 O.N.O + postage. Item Condition: 10/10 (Apart from the dust it could be mistaken for new). Reason for selling: Have pre-ordered a higher end DAC and need to pay for it somehow. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Direct Credit. Extra Info: The W4S replaced a very highly regarded Weiss DAC2 in my system, and was more detailed, more musical, and had a better feature set. It was a complete bargain at its retail price, and is an even better at the above price. It has pre-amp functionality (for digital sources) with a remote, as well as phase reversal, a hi res USB input, and multiple other digital ins (including IS2). It is build like a tank (really really really solid), and was made in the USA. Sound wise it is highly detailed without being overly analytical, and has great drive and body. It is very neutral but isn't at all clinical. Reviews can be found here: http://www.positive-.../wyred_dac2.htm http://www.stereotim.../CD101410.shtml www.6moons.com/audioreviews/wyred4/dac.html http://www.avguide.c...nverter-tas-210 Specifications etc. can be found here: http://www.wyred4sou...0/117839/457975 Aus retail is $1950, but it can be had new for around $1750 depending on the exchange rate on the day (Deep Hz Audio are excellent in that way). I have all the original packaging, software, etc. And can include a W4S P1 Ultra power cable (US plug) which retails for about $150, for another $80. I am only selling the W4S because my most loved DAC of all time (more expensive than the W4S) has received an update and I have pre-ordered it. I need to sell the W4S to help pay for the new purchase. Pictures:
