  4. My jvc x30 just stopped working. Standby and warning lights are solid red and the lamp light flashes orange twice at a time. Is it just a lamp replacement or is it something worse. Worried it might be something worse as I don't have my spare jvc hd550 anymore as a replacement

  6. Hey guys, So I'm currently running JVC X7000 with an Integra DRX3 and can get my PlayStation Pro going with no dramas giving me a 4k signal. When I try connect the XBox One S I get audio but no picture. I've tried so many things to get it going but just no luck. Even tried the same HDMI from game port from Ps4 pro into the XBox and still doesn't work. Any suggestions?
  7. Hey there thanks for any advise.... So ive just got a jvc kw-r920bt head unit, jvc 6"x9" 3 way rear speakers and factory 6 1/2" (im assuming 2 way) front speakers atm. So my question is, the head unit comes with a build in cross over that u can select 2 way or 3 way aswell as the other crossover settings, im not sure if i use 2 way or 3 way for the crossover type. If i use the 3 way type crossover....will that work to seprerate my rear speakers frequencies and if so what happens to the front 2 way speakers? Or do i use 2 way crossover type? Im kinda confused

  9. Hi all, I'm not writing a complaint as such but has anyone else had issues with their JVC X500, or related, where it doesn't seem to stay in focus? Every time I turn it on I need to refocus it. Even if I save the lens memory and recall it, it doesn't seem to remember the focus, it's slightly off. Even after watching an hour or two of content it seems a little out of focus again. It's only minor but I can tell and am fixing it constantly. My screen is a fixed frame just for reference. If anyone has had the same and found a way to fix please let me know. Thanks

  11. Hi, I want to hook up some speakers to a Sansui AU7500 stereo ampifier. I have a pair of JVC SK-1000 Mk II speakers rated 200 watts max (170W peak), RMS 100W, which I was going to use, but there is a broken connector, so will need to get repaired first. Alternatively, I have a pair of JBL Decade L26 speakers rated at up to 60W RMS per channel refer http://stereonomono.blogspot.com.au/2012/12/jbl-l26-decade.html the Sansui specifications (attached) state 150W at 1,000Hz 43/43W (8ohms) (each channel driven). So will the JBL's be OK to use with this amp? Thanks, Gary. s power or 43/43W (8ohms)
  12. Item: JVC DLA-X700R (black) projector with 3D emitter and 4 x 3D glasses Location: Canberra Price: $3750 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Moving o/s; no longer required. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash / Bank transfer. Condition: Excellent Hi all, due to an upcoming move, I am selling my JVC DLA-X700R projector, including the 3D emitter and 4 x 3D glasses. The projector has approximately 560 hours on the lamp (in low power). The projector produces an excellent quality picture and handles difficult scenes with ease. I was blown away the first time I watched a movie on the projector, as I hadn't realised how bad other projectors I'd owned/seen in the past had looked. Our family has thoroughly enjoyed this projector, but sadly it is now no longer required. I have the original boxes. 15. My JVC X3 produces a great image but for the last few years the remote control has not worked. It didn't really matter as I could reach the controls on the unit. However I recently had some lamp problems and I stumbled across a thread on the AVS forum that described how to fix the IR (and maybe the lamp) on the X3. See the link below. Apparently a capacitor was installed the wrong way around in the original build. So I followed the instructions and sure enough when I reversed the cap the IR started working again. The procedure is very simple. So many thanks to the AVS forum and all that posted. If you have an X3 the fix is real. http://www.avsforum.com/forum/24-digital-hi-end-projectors-3-000-usd-msrp/1296327-official-jvc-rs40-x3-owners-thread-336.html
  16. I need a new lamp for my JVC DLA-X3. Anyone bought one recently and if so where from? The genuine lamp looks to be about $600 and there are plenty of non genuine lamps for half that price. Anyone tried one of these non genuine lamps? I have read horror stories of the wrong lamp melting the PJ etc.
  17. Good to see JVC release a new range at IFA to support HDR and with hdcp 2.2 compliance, though they are still using the "wobbulation" eshift to support 4K rather than natively, http://www.ecinews.eu/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2638:jvc-home-cinema-projectors-at-ifa-2015&catid=20&Itemid=300701 " Kenwood-owned JVC announces three home cinema projectors just in time for IFA 2015-- the DLA-X9000, DLA-X7000, and DLA-X5000, all featuring e-shift4 upscaling technology and a 265W high power lamp. An updated D-ILA chip (the JVC take on LCD technology) promises what the company claims is "highest brightness in class" and "industry leading contrast ratio," with the flagship X9000 pushing 1900 lumens brightness at a native contrast ratio of 15000:1. The projectors feature HDCP 2.2 compliant HDMI 2.0 inputs with support for HDR content, while e-shift4 boosts clarity through a "Mutiple Pixel Control" Super Resolution algorithm. As JVC puts it, through Auto Mode “natural and expressive 4K images can be enjoyed without any complicated picture adjustments.” Motion blur reduction is also included via Motion Enhance. The DLA-X9000, DLA-X7000 and DLA-X5000 hit the market from November 2015. JVC also offers 3D accessories as optional extras."
  18. Item: FS JVC X35 Projector, in White and in Mint condition Location: SE melbourne Price: $2500 Item Condition: MINT like new with box, receipt, and all accessories like new Reason for selling: upgrading Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal (at buyers cost), Bank deposit Extra Info: Pictures: for sale a Mint condition jvc X35 yes like new with box, manual, accessories all as you would get from the shop and comes with original receipt and its a local purchase so no grey import here giving peace of mind for ongoing service support etc. Its not my main display as use a plasma for day to day duties, so only been used mainly for movies, a bit of sport, mini series etc. so comes with pretty reasonably low hours with 864 hours on the clock and only ever used on low lamp. given 4000 hours is the stated life of the lamp on these leaves still a long way to go. Iris is half open leaving bit up the sleeve. As some might know this is pretty much THE projector to get. it was the one that came through with the 3D fix and also comes with the FILM mode making out of box very natural in colour wiht just a few quick selections. Lamps are cheap on these too so if needing to upgrade lamps down the track its not a major expense Because I have all the original packaging etc I can ship anywhere in australia, though expect around $100 shipping given the size and bulk of the box. As a note am waiting my upgrade so anyone purchasing can only secure purchase with a deposit. I understand my upgrade is a week landing in the country so hopefully only couple of weeks away. I am listing this at what I think is a pretty fair price ...at $2,500 ie about half anything new you can buy of similar level. I will take a queue of interested parties incase 1st buyer drops out. I am not entertaining any offers, low ball or otherwise so please dont waste your time. IF deonst sell here for amount listed its going to eBay with this at starting price. so grab a serious bargain if want. If needing my eBay feedback please do check with me and can pass on details. My preference would be for a melbourne buyer whom can pay cash on pickup and see in action when purchasing. so if interstate i'll take your details and please dont feel miffed if you dont get it. http://www.cnet.com/au/products/jvc-dla-x700r/ a review of the x700 that shows just how good in value the x35 is ! ps some pics to follow, and can add more. but I can tell you this thing is capable of stunning pics !!!!

  20. Hi Everyone, Long time on and off reader/poster but rarely been in the projector pages till recently - so hi! Sorry for the long post there is a TLDR at the end. I'm having a few issues kitting out my dedicated HT, I've just moved into my new place and thought this would be a little easier than it's proving! I'm after a CIH set up as the room will be used for Blu-rays as well as Foxtel HD and PS3/4. I thought the room was plenty big enough but it seems I'm a little tight on space (depth) to get the throw I need. Room measurements are 4.25m deep by 3.45m wide, it has a small window which has a black out blind and I will eventually paint it a matte dark colour (including the ceiling). I was thinking ideal screen size at a viewing distance of approx 3.75m (sofa against the back wall) would be: 120" for 2.35:1 therefore 96" for 16:9 with CIH This gives me room for speakers too either side of the image. I would make some custom black velvet bars when viewing 16:9. So I need a projector with image memory. I read around and came to the decision to buy the JVCX35 (there is a group buy on here I will PM about) but it looks like it doesn't have the throw to handle a 120" screen. Can anyone please advise on the below calc's... Approx position of the JVC lens will be 100mm clearance from my rear wall (for cables at rear) + 472mm to front of JVC projector = 3.675m This limits me to a maximum 114" diagonal at 2.35:1 and therefore 92" at 16:9 keeping a CIH of approx 45" from what I can work out at http://www.projectorcentral.com/JVC-DLA-X35B-projection-calculator-pro.htm The Panasonic AE8000 doesn't have a problem with any aspect I want according to their own page (http://www.panasonic.net/avc/projector/products/ae8000/positions.html) however projectorcentral doesn't agree with their bottom table :S TLDR What screen size should I be considering for a viewing distance of 3.75m for a CIH setup? Are the above calc's right? Should I be going 2.4:1 or 2.35:1? Opinion's on the JVCx35 vs Pana AE8000 (or any others)? Thanks everyone I appreciate the input - I'm hoping to secure something before EOFY - I know that doesn't leave me long! Cheers Siddo
  21. OK! this is hard for me to do, but I'm in a bit of a pickle with finances so need to make some extra money...I'll be selling 90% of my collection, some of it is untested, some of it is currantly being used for my personnal use. I will try my best to provide as much info as I can remember on each unit. Item: Assorted Location: Monbulk, Victoria Price: Assorted Item Condition: Used Reason for selling: Need money Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, I will provide pics when asked, please note all units will need a clean as most have been stored for a while. Turntables: Thorens TD 145 Un tested, but assumed working, these are like the Sherman tanks of turntables! Stylus included but unsure of condition, no cover, reviews rate this turntable very very high!. SOLD Dual 1210 Tested and works, Stylus needs replacement but will be included, sounds amazing even with right channel distortion, compact design so would suit smaller area if space is an issue. $200 Luxman PD 291 Tested and sort of worked, it was a while ago and I can't remember what was wrong with it, but I kept it to fix up, so couldn't of been too bad, this is a truly beautiful turntable! comes with Ortofon OMB-5 cart, unsure of stylus condition. cover needs a polish, but would be well worth it as it is a master piece of design! $100 Micro Seiki MB-18 Tested and working, needs a new stylus or cart, cart delivered flat lifeless sound, I was going to replace the cart and use this in my personnel system, is a very dark mahogany look, and dark tinted cover, a very nice looking unit! Sold Sansui SR-212 Un tested, clean condition, unsure if working, found it not long ago and have not had a chance to look at it yet. $80 Pioneer Rondo 3000 I have a soft spot for Pioneer, I've had this one for a few years in storage, I'm sure it works, but I will list it as un tested as I've not touched it for a while, can check for perspective buyer if I find some time and have interest in it. $80 Amplifiers: JVC A-X1 Great little amp, very underrated, I used this for months as a stereo cinema set up, and it never disappointed! I upgraded years ago and have no use for it, but it's taken me until now to let it go! very clean condition, and I believe I cleaned all the pots and switches when I got it. $50 JVC VN-300 Nice unit, beautiful design, very under rated little unit, I was using this for a while until one of the channels popped, I have been meaning to fix it but never got around to it $60 Technics SU-7300 I actually don't want to sell this, but I have no use for it I was using it up until a few day ago in my sunroom system, but have now acquired a Rotel system that better suits my needs for the room, these are a great little amp, and sound way more powerful than specs would lead to believe. it's a great looking little unit as well. $150 Sansui AU-101 x 2 I have 2 of these, one with crackling channels, the other only one channel working, but these are pure sound at its best! would suit someone willing to repair and service. $60 each or $100 for both Sansui AU-2900 Un tested, good unit from reviews I’ve seen around, take a chance! it could very well work, I've never even plugged it in! $50 Sansui 331 Un tested, I don't even remember acquiring this one! I didn't even know I had it! I had a 221 years ago, and it was a great sounding unit, can only assume this is as well, but it is sold completely un tested never plugged in. $50 Akai AA-5000 Un tested, I purchased this from a very mature man selling up to travel Australia, he loved it and assured me it worked, but I’ve never checked it, needs a clean, assumed working, I also have the Akai speakers to go with it $40 the lot (what I paid) Tape Decks: Hitachi D-720 Un tested, rack mount handles, black in colour, top quality unit! $20 Onkyo TA-2022 Un tested, this was a quality unit back in its day, Onkyo used to make great tape decks! $20 Technics M225 I think I remember testing this and it worked, but the display on the front is wonky, would need to be opened up and fixed. $20 CD player: Pioneer PD-5010 Works, sounds great, black not silver, Pioneer quality! $50 Stereo System: Pioneer Amp - VSX-454 Amp was brought to me by a friend who thought they would "service" it and failed, it didn't need anything! it worked perfect, sounded fine, volume had a mind of its own at times but nothing un-controllable, they pulled the facia off and broke a ribbon wire, it's a good unit, lots of power! so I was going to fix it, but never had the time. CD player - PD-104 Works, not as pretty as the other one on offer but still has the Pioneer quality! Tape Deck - CT-W103 Works fine, double deck, nothing more to say really Tuner - F204 This is a great tuner! easy to use, lots of pre-sets! doesn't even look as ugly as all its family component’s! $40 the lot! Speakers: A.M.I Jorgan SE-50 These are a rare Dutch brand (I think) 20w, 8ohm, nothing spectacular really, vintage look, sound fine. $20 Wharfedale Veldus 300 100w, 4-8ohm, need to be re-coned, but otherwise very nice speakers. $40 Thorn 508SS I love these speakers, they look like terrible vintage low quality speakers, but they are anything but! they supply amazing sound paired with the right solid state amp, I had them set up with the Technics SU-7300, and they never ever failed to impress! they don't look the part, but are comparable to much more highly sort after speakers. As they are very durable little things might be great put to use in a garage or deck system, if you ever find a pair grab them! you won’t be disappointed! not rare, they do pop up from time to time in op-shops. $30 Well that about does it! I hope for all these units to go to a loving home, and to be appreciated for what they are!
  22. JVC 2014 range officially announced at CEDIA 2013 http://www.twice.com...r-lines/108501# The new JVC projectors now have a Dynamic Iris! Multiple Pixel Control (MPC) processor with eight-band detection. The MPC processor offers four presets plus an Auto setting that automatically selects the best up-conversion process by detecting the frequency of each pixel E-shift3 Well the big reveal is the Dynamic Iris and thats a huge announcement for JVC and long time coming for some. So no native 4K model by the looks of it, though they all must have HDMI 2.0 to accept a 4K/60p input. THX 3D mode for the top two; maybe another nice boost for 3D in this range.
  23. Well luck would have it with much thanks to matt at TCC I ended up with a JVC x35 to check out over the last queens birthday long weekend. As some would know to really appreciate something am a strong believer in checking out for myself and where possible demoing at home to experience in my own system to come to my own conclusions. Thought I'd post here as my impressions and experience with it might be of interest to some and also some comparisons I can make to my own epson 9000w the x35 is pretty much out of box and with 4 hours on the clock. when I picked up from the store the quick spin they gave it for me had good contrast, sharpness and brightness but the colour balance and skin tones to my eyes looked a bit over ripe ! not that bothered me too much as was sure at home could give it a bit of a tweak. Plus also keen to check out what might be like in my own setup with your typical lounge room with white walls and ceilings light carpet and furniture/furnishings vs say the blacked out surrounds of the TCC demo room screen size is a 92" 16:9 so not massive but and am viewing from 2.9m which is bang on thx recommendation for immersion and is well within the distance for visual acuity to resolve 1080p so should do justice in appreciating the detail and immersion with a projector. so without further ado lets get on with it... JVC in da house ofcourse wife noticed it straight away it is a big projector and BLACK unlike the lounge room friendly white epson. But yeah I reassured her it was just a loaner and just for the long weekend I use the peerless mount PRG-EXA wall mount and to mount the jvc you need to remove its feet meaning long screws m5x25mm are required to secure to the mount bracket. this is unlike with the epson where dont have to take off its feet and can use the surface mount screws the peerless comes with. but anyways a quick trip to buntings soon had that sorted. It is a narrower but deeper projector than the epson meaning I had to use full extension on the prg-exa to make sure it had clearance on the back. But yeah was soon easily mounted squared / leveled up with the peerless no probs. Hook up was pretty simple just the same as with the epson. I downloaded the jvc manual for a quick peak to familiarise myself, but the remote and everything appeared pretty intuitive so off I went with switch on. Easy enough in use, the menus on the jvc and remote pretty straight forward. In alignment with vertical/horizontal shift and zooming these beign motorised is pretty handy on the jvc vs the manual controls on the epson. the focus for instance can pretty much stand at the screen and get just right in adjusting vs with the manual control on the epson have to stand at the projector and try and do it manually. The controls for focus zoom and image shift are quite fine in resolution so easy to use, however strangely I did notice just in one direction ie in upwards vertical shift the jvc is a little coarse in movement ie jumps/steps upwards but coming downwards is quite smooth. odd just meant took a few goes to get just right OK on to watching something onscreen !
  24. Hi Folks, So i bought a JVC projector recently, the x90. Had it professionally installed and calibrated as well (at least to the best of my knowledge) and the 2D Blu-ray quality is absolutely stunning. The only issue I have, is with the 3D quality that comes out (played with a Panasonic BWT800 blu-ray player, also have a ps3 but I think the BWT800 has better quality). Now what my issues I seem to have is that during a 3D movie (in this case Transformers 3), it seemed really weird on the eyes in that it wasn't as smooth as I expected it to be. Now it's a 3D only blu-ray movie that is being shown, and the BWT800 supports 3d. The projector does have a high speed cable into an integra 50.4 amp, as does the BWT800 player so that's not an issue. I can't exactly tell why the image seems a little fuzzy at times. Is that how 3D movies are at home? Is this what they mean by crosstalk? I also read somewhere that the projector doesn't automatically swap to 3D or something (in a review I read) so I'm really just trying to figure out if my eyes need to adjust to the signal, or that's just how it is (I'd hope not). Sorry if anyone was confused here, but I was hoping for some input. Also, how does the 4K eshift tech work, I can't seem to find anything about it in the manual nor in the projector settings?
  25. Hi all, Just recently I came across an ad on Gumtree, For sale was an old jvc system with 4 speakers, no pictures, that's it. Went to investigate, and what i found was quite something. The system is from the 70's i believe, consists of: JVC 4VR-5436X Fm-Am 4 Channel Stereo Receiver with built in CD-4 Demodulator (Quadraphonic) - http://www.thevintageknob.org/jvc-4VR5436.html JVC SK-12 4 Way 6 speaker boxes with wood lattice - pair JVC VS-5399 Bi-directional rear speakers - pair - http://www.thevintageknob.org/jvc-VS-5399.html A woman was selling it, i don't think she realised what she was selling. All she wanted was $20!!!!!!!!!! SOLD All the pieces are in fantastic, original condition, and the receiver works beautifully. The SK-12's are unbelievable for something from the 70's! Does anyone know what the REAL resale value of this system is? Thanks
