  1. Item: Anthem i225 Integrated Amplifier Location: Bexley NSW Price: $1100 (ONO) no tyre kickers please, low ba;ll offers will be ignored. Item Condition: As new (pretty good nick as is all of my gear) Reason for selling: Need to raise funds to buy the MRS a 10th Anniversary Gift Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Extra Info: This Amp is pretty good and letting it go is a tough decision, my loss is your gain. Plenty reviews on the web, the below thread has a good in depth review by our in house guru Cafad. I bought this amp off him. http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/index.php?/topic/42260-integrated-amps-an-addicts-guide/page-7 Pics:
  2. Home theatre Hifi.com has done an in depth three part analysis of the hk990, well worth the read. http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/integrated-amplifiers/integrated-amplifiers-reviews/harman-kardon-hk-990-stereo-integrated-amplifier-with-digital-room-correction-and-dual-subwoofer-bass-management-part-i.html http://www.stereophile.com/content/harman-kardon-hk-990-integrated-amplifier
  3. Item: Sansui AU-317 Integrated Amp Location: Townsville, QLD Price: $250 shipped to anywhere in Australia Item Condition: USED Reason for selling: Recovering funds and no longer needed Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Extra Info: Hey Folks I am worried I am becoming a Sansui fanboy so this item must now be sold. Up for sale is a Sansui AU-317 that was procured with the help of Pete_Mac and refurbished by Skippy124 (restoration thread here). Yes the greatest Father Son duo SNA has ever seen. Bought the amp second hand back in AUG 2012. The amp was paired up with the Usher S-520s for that desired warmth. It has been fantastic. I have a Precision1 now and since that couples as a headphone amp I have consolidated and my headphone amp and Sansui are now going. The listing comes with these RCA cables for free: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300649182318&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:AU:1123. In the pictures you will notice the outer end of the RCA jacks slightly damaged but signal is still transferred. This was due to my time playing with dodgy Class T-amps and the tight connection damaged the outer portion of the jacks and of course idiocy on my end. However, I have had no issues with it or issues with a solid connection. And seeing as this amp was bought and refurbished with the help of the kind folk here on SNA it would only be fair to partially donate some of the cash to SNA. The price is $250. This includes an estimated $50 for shipping. If shipping costs more I will incur all extra charges. 50% of the remainder will then be donated to SNA. Peace Nik Pictures: ATTACHED and slightly out of focus just to annoy you. PICS of the internals can be found on Skippy's restoration thread linked here: http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/index.php?/topic/44937-sansui-au317-restoration/#entry756697

  5. I've recently set up a pair of Dynaudio Focus 160 standmounters and have been running them through a Denon receiver. Although they sound great, the receiver is just not doing them justice. I'm looking for either a good integrated or pre/power setup to drive them and I have been told that the Dyns like a lot of power (rated at 4 ohms and 85db). So here are the main requirements: Integrated or pre/power combo Min 150W into 4 ohms (or a pwr output able to drive these guys) Should have >3 analog inputs (phono and digital inputs not necessary) Aesthetics not a major concern but great if it is available in black Budget - I'd like to keep it under $3k I have a preference for new or demo model as I would like to retain warranty etc. My shortlist (based on internet research) so far: Roksan Kandy K2 integrated Parasound P3/A23 Any thoughts and ideas about other suitable amps I should be auditioning would be appreciated.
  6. Item: RWA Signature 15 integrated amp. Price: $850 pickup or buyer pays shipping. Condition: Great. One very small circular mark on the top of case (see photos) Reason for selling: I thought I'd try it in my system with the Isabellina HPA DAC that I've been running. They're a great match but in the end I preferred my current amps. Details: For those who don't know, these are battery powered and thus run off-grid. It's a great way to eliminate power line noise and other interference; which results in an eerily quiet background. It comes with the included universal charger; you'll get about 6 hours in between full charges. It can also run while charging - so you don't ever have downtime. It's as realistic as I've ever heard an amplifier sound; uncannily so. Tonallity is excellent, similar to some valve amps but without the warmth and humidity in the midrange. This thing is crystal clean and transparent. Bass is suprisingly solid for such a low-powered amp (15wpc into 8 ohms and 30wpc into 4 ohms). The unit has 3 line inputs, selectable via the front knob. Underneath the speaker binding posts are a set of pre-outs. The original remote is also included. The amp will come packed in its original box, along with all accessories and the manual. Price is for pickup from Clayton or Southbank; postage within Australia should be about $50. Auditions are welcome, message me with any questions. 7. Item: Trafomatic Premise Amplifier Location: Melbourne Price: $3500 ono. Item Condition: Near Mint Reason for selling: Putting up my WLM Diva's for sale, the Premise is the perfect partner. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: The Premise is a fantastic amp. The WLM Diva/Trafomatic Premise is the best speaker/amp combo I have ever had in my system. I need to sell a pair of speakers and since I haven't yet sold my wilson benesch's I have put my Diva's up for sale. If they sell and I am left with the W.B then I will need a more appropriate amp match. Here is what our own John Darko had to say about the Premise: "With his Kaivalya monos receiving raves across the board, Sasa Cokic distilled their essence into a gloss-white-lacquered push-pull integrated. The Premise twirls with EL84 tubes; this means super-fast, super clean reproduction without the butterfat that can burden lesser EL34 designs. Musical layering is another standount. Cleverly, Cokic has designed the Premise so that it can be used as a power amplifier and triode/ultra-linear modes are top-plate switchable to suit mood and musical flavour. The former brings a shade more romance, but the delta is sufficiently subtle that you won’t spend all day yo-yo-ing between the two. A glorious and grandiose amplifier that once again proves that bang-for-buck can still be found at the high-end. Don’t be misled: this might look like show-pony hi-fi but the Premise offers performance that you’d be extremely hard-pushed to find for less money. You can show it off to your audiophile mates, it sounds sublime and your partner will be less likely to object to it as a lounge-room centerpiece. A modern classic." Had to argue with JD. Don't underestimate it, this is a high end amp that delivers high end performance. The Premise certainly does pull you into the music. This particular amp is in gloss black rather than the gloss white- just my personal preference. This unit does also come with the $250 optional output to run as a power amp if you want to add your favourite pre into the mix. The amp runs a minimum of 20 watts per channel. Comes with remote. The specs as taken from the Trafomatic website: Specifications: Class of operation: Push Pull class A Triode/ Ultralinerar mode
Tubes complement: 8 x EL84, 2 x ECC81
Inputs: CD, Tuner, Aux
Outputs: 4 , 8 ohms

THD: 0.25% - 1W/1KHz
 Bandwidth: 10Hz (-1dB) - 50KHz (-3dB)
S/N ratio: 88dB
Input impedance: 100K
Power consumption: 250VA
Input voltage: 230V/50Hz (100-120-220-240V available on request)
Size: 430 x 2900 x 1900mm
Weight: 22kg As always, if you have any question regarding either the amp or its sonic abilities, please don't hesitate to ask. If someone out there is in the extremely fortunate position of being able to purchase both the Premise and my listed Wlm Diva's, we can certainly discuss a package price. I have all original packaging. A donation to SNA will be made upon sale of the amp. Pictures: not my best work, sorry about that: looks cool in the flesh, particularly with all those glowing bottles fired up.
  8. Item: Audio Space Galaxy 88/AS 6IRE Tube Integrated Amp w/ Shuguang Tresures KT-88Z Location: Sydney Price: $250 plus shipping. Item Condition: Outstanding. No scratches. 9+. Reason for selling: Not used. Payment Method: Pickup. Bank Deposit. Paypal. Matched Quad Grade Shuguang Tresures KT-88Zs are for sale. Audio Space Galaxy 88 is now withdrawn from sale. I have decided to keep the Audio Space amp. Please send me a PM if you are interested, I might change my mind again. ------------ More Info ------------ 2 years ago I really wanted a great sounding tube amp that is affordable. I searched all over Australia online stores and Sydney audio shop and I didn't know about SNA and second hand market. All I could find was European or American made tube amps that cost over $3000. I couldn't afford them. So I turned to ebay, Chinese amps. Wow ! So cheap! And look cheap too. Don't trust them. Luckily, I kept searching and found Audio Space. I have just seen the Hong Kong blockbuster movie Infernal Affairs, one of the Audio Space amp was featured in the movie, great! I got online and searched for Audio Space and I read this review by StereoMojo on the Galaxy KT-88. Now that's a Chinese amp I can trust. A month later I was in Singapore and I visited The Adelphi THE audio heaven. There is a shop there sells only Audio Space gears. It was so wonderfully set up and I have to listen to The Galaxy KT-88. I love it. Problem, shipping and all added up too expansive. There were no Audio Space dealer in Australia but a shop in Queensland advertised it for $2999! Can't afford it. (Audio Space Australia now is still selling it at $2850). ebay. Love it and hate it. In this case, I love it! I ordered one straight away from here when I got back from Singapore. It arrived slightly more than a week from Hong Kong. Excellent! Open it up. Connected it up. Turn the power on. Set the bias. Put the record on. Wow! I immediately smile and jump with joy! Why would I spend so much money when I can have this? Even though I paid $250 shipping fee at the time US dollar was higher. It's still less than AUD $1500. I did worry it would turn out a waste of money piece of junk! The build quality is as good as you can get at this price and it's equal to if not well exceeded a lot of the $2000 to $3000 priced European or US tube amps. It looks beautiful. Has enough power and all the bells and whistles. The ultra linear and triode modes are wonderful although tubes dependant. The only complain is the remote seems useful but actually very clunky and don't always work. It's made of steel so don't drop it on your foot or you'll be missing a toe. I won't rave on about how good it sounds (you can read the reviews yourself), but then I started changing the tubes... (Why get a tube amp if you don't want to tube roll?) The Galaxy only gets better and better. I really thought I wouldn't want to change the amp until 2 months ago the NOS Tung-Sol 6SL7GT started making screeching noise and I started looking for replacement, don't trust the NOS tubes now. I then stumble upon Sophia Electric. So I have just upgraded my turntable, my phono stage, then a matched pair each of the Sophia Electric 6SL7 and 6SN7. I received the Sophias 3 weeks ago, I was hoping but didn't expect them to outperform the NOS Tung-Sol. Put them on and instantly - Wow! I couldn't believe what I have just heard! How is this possible? They made my system sounds so good I decided not selling my CM8s. Now, of course I have my eyes on the Sophia Electric Model M88-01 KT88 Push-Pull Mono-block. Yes, they have been calling since that day... ------------ Reviews ------------ StereoMojo "...the Galaxy 88 acquitted itself very admirably in a big room with not too efficient speakers and was a joy to which to listen to..." "...the Galaxy can rock, baby, if it’s given the right speakers to roll with..." "...the Audio Space Galaxy 88 comes out very well when compared to the highest standards and downright outstanding at its very competitive US$2090..." -- James Darby Best Of 2009 Blue Note Equipment Awards - Vacuum Tubes -- Shuguang Treasure Series Vacuum Tubes KT88Z ------------ Note ------------ The amp is 2 year old and has not have a problem, except, when I first got it, I was so excited I wanted to touch the tube. I don't know why I did it and I twisted the tube while the power was on and it fried the stock KT-88 tube I touched. The amp was serviced by Kimil, recommended by a SNA member and cost me $220! Idiot! The Galaxy KT-88 is sold with 4 x Shuguang Treasures 50 Anniversary 'Black Bottle' KT-88Z and the stock Audio Space branded 6N9P and 6N8P. The Shuguang tubes are Grade A Matched Quad and they were acquired from Grant Fidelity US$600 after reading this thread on SNA. KT88-Z has now been upgraded and rename PSVANE KT-88 TII and retailed for much lower at US450 Grade A Matched Quad. Mmmm! The hours used on the KT-88Z is around 1000 hours, based on 3 hours a day for 18 months. I have changed my KT-88 tubes to the 4 Cryoset Genelax Gold Lion which I think work much better in my system. I havn't used the Shuguang for the last 6 months. If the tube last for 5000 hours, you will still have 4000 hours left. That is quite a few years and they are usually expected to last much longer. The 6N9P is 6SL7 equivalent and 6N8P 6SN7. They are just Audio Space branded standard Shuguang. I have paired the Shuguang KT-88Z with NOS Sylvania 6SN7GTA and NOS Tung-Sol 6SL7GT. They were wonderful together. But currently I think the Cryoset Genelax Gold Lion is the king! ------------ Specs ------------ Stereo Integrated Amplifier Model No. : AS 6IRE / Galaxy 88 Output Power : 24W x 2 (Triode-Class AS Push-Pull) Output Power : 48W x 2 (Ultralinear-Class AS Push-Pull) S/N Ratio : >88 dB Output Impedance : 4, 8 ohm Input Mode : RCA / Direct In Direct Power amp input Point to point wiring Vacuum Tubes : KT-88 x 4 6N9P x 2, (6SL7 or ECC35) 6N8P x 2, (6SN7 or ECC32) Dimension : 330 x 400 x 190 mm (DxWxH) Weight : 22.5 (N.W.), 25 Kg (G.W.) 220V. 10. Item full name and model etc. Electrocompaniet ECI-3 * Location Sydney Australia * Item condition description: About a 8 to 8.5 just have no box - but can bubble wrap * Price and price conditions: $1800 less than half price in AUS. ex shipping but will ship all over aus. * Reason for selling I'm that guy that's STILL trying to buy a house! so I'm selling everything from every room!!! In other words 14 years worth of Audio Industry rolled into SALE! * Payment Methods: Paypal (inc 3%), cash preferred, bank cheque, direct debit. * Extra Info: I've had this for over 18 months and considering the gear I have in my main room (Nagra, Wilson Audio, etc) the Electrocompaniet is a giant killer. I've always been impressed with the sound and it certainly makes my old retro Rega's sound top notch. This is a pimp daddy of a integrated with balanced imputs and outputs if you wish to buy some more power amps at a later date! It's got discrete inputs with a remote control plus a relay switching which is just very sexy! Please note this was bought in Aus too from the folks at Tivoli Hi-Fi. More information http://www.tivolihifi.com.au/product/integrated-amplifiers/electrocompaniet-eci-3-integrated-amp This amp is good value at $4,000 which is their asking price; I'm asking $1800 because that could almost buy me a pest inspection... (HOORAY FOR BUYING A HOUSE!) * Pictures
  11. So changing direction from some of my previous posts, I'm looking for some info on the two channel tale. Initially I was looking for an AVR that would kind of do everything. If I go in that direction, I'm looking to get a Yamaha RX-V2073. If I don't go the AVR route, I've been recommended (from a couple of corners) Emotiva gear, specifically the UMC-1 and XPA-200, but I would probably go the USP-1 over the UMC. I don't really need surround, and the USP has a phono input and headphone out. (I have a pretty low end AVR and some speakers I can use as 5.1 for the odd movie or PS3, in addition to whatever I do here). My question though: would going the Emotiva (or similar) route be overkill? Could I be happier with an integrated amp like the Yamaha R-S700? I listen to the radio a reasonable amount, so that factors in. Further, if I go in this two channel direction I'm going to have to look at a DAC and potentially a DAB+. As I've got in my signature, I'm looking to power DALI Ikon 7s, which shouldn't be too difficult to drive, so the XPA-200 might be a bit over the top (but sound amazing). Any suggestions are welcome (my budget can push $1800, but lower is obviously better). ST
  12. Hey guys, I am putting together a rig to feed a pair of JMLab 807V bookshelves, hoping someone has a 2 channel integrated amp with a decent phono stage around the $500 mark on offer. I had my heart set on an original Marantz PM-17 but the seller pulled the auction on eBay with a day to go because he wasn't happy with the price it was at... Sooo frustrating. I'm not afraid to buy older amps that were known for their quality back in the day as long as they are in good working condition. I'll be using a Schiit Bifrost DAC and running music off a Rega RP3 and a Macbook in FLAC. Hoping for something that will still be relatively detailed at lower volumes but will scale up if I do decide to give it a kick. Thanks!
  13. Item: Creek Destiny integrated amplifier (in rare black finish) Location: Clayton, Melbourne Price: SOLD Item Condition: Very good Reason for selling: Restless, want to try something else Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Direct Deposit Extra Info: I got this amp to try out with my Dynaudio focus 110's. It's one of the rarer all-black units, which in my opinion looks smarter than the silver model. The unit is well built and reassuringly heavy. In addition to plenty of input options, the Destiny has the handy feature of having A + B speaker outputs - a god-send when you're A/B testing speakers! The headphone jack also comes in handy - overall this is a very flexible amplifier. In terms of sound, it is extremely musical. It's strong point is tonality. It's not as clean clear as some amps I've heard, but on the other hand it's not sterile as a result. Instruments have more character than I've heard elsewhere; guitar and piano in particular are beautifully rendered. Bass is deep and hits hard, I was surprised to hear it had a better bottom end than my Musical Fidelity A3CR power amp. But then the Creek is rated at 100W/8R, so it's certainly no tiddler! The midrange is nice and warm; reviews describe this amp as having a tube-like sound. Treble is brilliant, very crisp and detailed (where some of my other amps have been overly sweet, or in other cases a bit thin and dry). The amp will come in it's original box with the remote. Review: A very positive write-up by Stereophile: http://www.stereophi...edamps/107creek Pics:
  14. Item: Plinius 9200 Integrated amp Location: Victoria (Will post Australia wide) Price: $3200 ono (RRP - $5000) Item Condition: Excellent - always handled with supplied Plinius gloves. Full double box, manual, extended warranty, reciept and remote. Reason for EOI: Possible upgrade Payment Method: Local Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Bank transfer. Extra Info: Well reviewed. Awesome phono stage, HT bypass and great power (200W into 8ohm and 340W into 4ohm). http://www.whathifi....w/Plinius-9200/ http://www.6moons.co...plinius2/1.html Amongst other reviews.... Will follow with pictures. This is a silver one.
  15. Item: NAD 3020 Series 20 integrated amplifier Location: Clayton, Melbourne Price: $200 pickup or buyer pays postage Item Condition: Very good for its age - some marks and scratches on case. See below for details Reason for selling: No longer needed Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Direct Deposit Extra Info: I've had this wonderful amp for about a year now, and it always brings a smile to my face when I plug it in. Smooth, warm and punchy, it's a delight to listen to. This is the original version of the classic 3020 integrated, and I've gotta say it's in great shape considering its age. The only blemishes are cosmetic (see photos below); all the mechanicals are fine (switches, buttons, LEDs and volume control all work perfectly). Someone commented recently that the internals look like they've been serviced/upgraded (new caps visible through the grill), but if that's the case I don't know the details. I don't have the box or manual, but I could probably package it up if someone wanted it shipped interstate. See this thread for positive comments: http://www.stereo.ne...020-astonishing Pics:
  16. I'd like to try a Creek integrated in my system, ideally one of the following: Evo 2 Evo 5350 Classic 5350SE Destiny 2 If anyone has one that they might be looking to pass on, drop me a PM.
  17. Item: Redgum Sonofa'GUM 5500 Integrated Amplifier Location: Clayton, Melbourne Item Condition: Very good - 4 months old Reason for selling: Upgraded to a Rega Brio R Price: $500 $450 including postage Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: I purchased this unit direct from the Redgum eBay store last November. It has been paired with Monitor Audio BX2's, Usher S520's and Wharfedale Diamond 9.1's. With each of these speakers, the entry-level Redgum lived up to its reputation of delivering incredible slam and weight for the price - it's really energetic. Being only 4 months old, the unit is in very good condition, although there are a few points worth mentioning: The paint-job on the top of the unit is a little splotchy, see last pic below. The unit's casing had a slight bow from the factory, which meant it didn't sit completely flat. I ended up fitting a small washer between the case and one of the feet which has fixed the issue. Apart from that the unit is in great condition. All original packaging and accessories are included, and the unit is still under warranty. Here's a review by our very own Mr Darko: http://www.digitalau...rated-amplifier Pics:
