  10. I've decided to break open the cupboard of the amps that I've bypassed in my "Integrated Mission" and let them get some air. If anyone has any info on the Linx Nebula, pictured below I'd appreciate hearing it, very little info exists on the web. It claims to be a 65 wpc amp (and 90 into 4) it must have at least a few watts in class A since it heats up quite a bit (I'm sure those little heat sinks don't help things). Hot enough that I am uncomfortable with the idea of leaving the room while it is playing, just in case. It even stays hot when switched onto standby which was something of a surprise. I've got a sheet of paper that lists the details of the phono stages (both MM and MC) but no other data except for the claimed dynamic power rating with is 160 watts into 8 Ohms, pretty decent if true! It does sound rather good, a fairly typically "English" sounding amp with a bit less warmth evident than the exposure gear I have heard in the past. I've got a greatest hits cd playing at the moment, if it makes it through to the end of the cd without dying of heat stroke I'll conclude that it just runs hot, if it doesn't it'll just have to go back into the cupboard until finances allow for some surgery to be carried out.

  12. Item: Audio Note OTO SE - Integrated Tube Amplifier (Line Version) Location: Melbourne Price: $1,500 Item Condition: Very Good Reason for selling: No Longer Used Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: If you are looking for a sweet sounding integrated valve amplifier then look no further! I have had this since new. This is the line version (no phone stage) of their well regarded 12 Watt, Single Ended Class A design amplifier. You can find more details here: https://www.dagogo.com/audio-note-oto-se-integrated-amplifier-with-phono-review/ . Note the comments on their experience with its power - this amp will happily drive 90db sensitivity speakers to more than unreasonable sound levels. More details in the PDF's attached. The amp is in very good condition. The only signs of wear are on the output terminals where the plastic surrounds have discoloured and chipped in a couple of places. Only work done has been replacement of the mains filter capacitors, and the EL84's in the amp. Valves are comm only available and not expensive to replace. The is very impressive to listen to - selling due to the need to downsize / change in direction Pictures: Audio Note Brochure.pdf

  20. Item: Odyssey Cyclops Extreme Integrated Amplifier Location: Lara / Melbourne VIC Price: $900 Item Condition: Very good (see below) Reason for selling: No longer in use Payment Methods: Direct Deposit, Cash on pickup, Paypal (add %3) Extra Info: This is the 'Extreme' version of the Cyclops, with many upgraded parts. 110wpc. About 4 years old. You can read a review of the power amp version (called the Khartago) here: http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/tas-195-odyssey-audio-khartago-stereo-amplifier/ The Cyclops is a Khartago with a volume knob. I purchased this amplifier from Duckman at the end of 2014 and used it since then with a pair of Vivid Audio V1.5s. I was extremely happy with the combination but felt the need for a change. Duckman said the following: "I purchased this amplifier based on its reputation in the Head-Fi community as an excellent match for the Audeze LCD3 planar magnetic headphone, and have used it almost exclusively to run these headphones from the speaker taps. If you own an Audeze or one of the harder to drive Hifiman headphones, you won't be disappointed with this amp." "It is in very good cosmetic condition. However there is a spot on the rear where I removed a piece of adhesive felt from a replacement module sent to me by Klaus - the amp's builder - (the original module was noisy and was entirely replaced), and it has taken some of the finish off. The photo is a bit fuzzy, but you'll see it. The original cost including shipping was around $1800 USD." I'd prefer local pickup or I can deliver around the Melbourne area. Reluctant to post. Images:
  21. Item: Rotel RSX-1056 AVR Location: Flemington, Vic Price: SOLD $250 Item Condition: Very good Reason for selling: Gone to much pricier pre and power amp Payment Method: Pickup only for now - Cash, Paypal (+3% unless friend transfer), bank transfer Extra Info: Why the cheeky 'super integrated' reference? Well, I think many people trying to put together a good sounding 2 channel or 2.1 channel system overlook older high-end AVRs. Where else can you get powerful, musical amps, subwoofer control and a pretty darn good Burr-Brown DAC for this price? Just run an optical cable from your TV and one from your cheap CD/DVD player, then use an RCA cable for your smartphone/laptop. All you need to do is add speakers for a great value sound system. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I think it looks quite handsome if you have the space. Standout features for me are: 2 x 100W into 8ohm (and don't forget the power supply is designed to support 5 channels at 75W) Subwoofer out, including ability to control crossover and levels 5 digital inputs (2 x optical, 3 x coax) I used this to run my Dynaudio Focus 160 when I first got them, which are quite difficult to drive (4ohm, 86dB) and it never lacked for control or volume. Includes original remote, but I prefer to use a universal remote such as a $30 Harmony. Pictures:
  22. Item: Arcam FMJ A38 Integrated Amp Location: Sydney Price: $800 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Not needed Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I bought this amp last week but in the meantime auditioned a few other amps and decided to move this one on. It is in fantastic condition with some very faint marks and only if you look up close. I don't think you will find another at this price point. Highly regarded integrated and was Arcams tip of the range. Heaps of reviews on the net. Comes with the remote control, power chord, manual and box. I prefer pick up but will also consider posting. I'll post pics later. Pictures:
  23. Item: Denon PMA2000AE integrated amp Location: Sydney West 2190 Price: SOLD (Retail over $4k) Item Condition: Very good Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I bought this sweetie from a SNA member, it's a very capable all rounder, intention was to use as a back up, but it's really too good to be a back up amp in my opinion , so hope she finds a good home for someone appreciate more. I have original packaging box, so shipping is not a issue, but consider it's weight, local pick up preferred. Please send PM if interested. Specifications Power output: 80 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo) Frequency response: 5Hz to 100kHz Total harmonic distortion: 0.07% Input sensitivity: 0.2mV (MC), 2.5mV (MM), 135mV (line) Signal to noise ratio: 74dB (MC), 89dB (MM), 108dB (line) Speaker load impedance: 4Ω to 16Ω Dimensions: 434 x 181 x 480mm Weight: 24kg Pictures:
  24. Item: Bladelius Thor Mk2 Integrated Amplifier Location: Sunny Nanango Price: $1900 plus postage Item Condition: Excellent (see photos) Reason for selling: The Bladelius is the next amp that has to move on. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal (buyer to pay paypal fees if choosing paypal) Extra Info: A nice amp but not one that worked well with my Lenehan S2 speakers. It came across a little better on a pair of ML2s and better again (in my opinion at least) on a pair of ML3s so I'm blaming synergy. It also worked very well with my LS50s, as odd as that probably sounds. This is the Thor Mk 2 Ladies and Gents, it does not contain a built in DAC, if a built in DAC is what you are after then you will need the Mk 3. Comes with remote but no manual and no original packaging. I do however have access to many boxes and a near limitless roll of bubble wrap so packaging will not be a problem. Pictures: I'm going to trial a sliding scale of pricing with the Bladelius. For a week after listing the price is $2300, for the next week it will be $2200, for the third week after listing the price will be $2100 and from then on the price will be $2000.
  25. Item: Audio Research VSi60 integrated valve amplifier Location: Melbourne 3127; local pickup only at this stage Price: $3800 or reasonable offer ($8495 retail) Item Condition: 9.5/10 Reason for selling: Need more versatility Payment Method: Paypal Extra Info: Relisting - I let the trail go cold after I first listed this, time to move it on now. The ARC brand and the VSi60 don't need much introduction from me here! I bought this new from Carlton Audio Video in March 2016 or thereabouts. You'll find many highly positive reviews of this online. It does not have an hours counter, but I'd estimate I've put no more than 50 hours on the valves. It has the original valve complement: 4 x Tungsol KT120 and 2 x Sovtek 6H30. This model is still current in the ARC range, retailing at $8495 on the CAV site. The bigger brother VSi75 (KT150 valves) retails at $13495, so did not replace the VSi60 in the ARC range. The ARC VSi60 is perhaps not the prettiest-looking valve amp you ever saw (it still glows nicely in a darker room), but it sings beautifully! It has plenty of oomph to drive trickier speakers, but I've had it on an easy reasonably efficient speaker load. It has the lovely ARC valve sound - reasonably neutral while still displaying some classical valve wamth. I am not replacing it for better sound (I don't think it can be beaten by much at this price point) - instead I need an amp that can also do some HT duties, and I have tired of swapping speaker cables around to listen to music again! I still have the box, and of course include the remote, power cord, manual. Happy to demo to genuinely interested buyers. Aside: Eagle-eyed viewers may noticed that I have futzed with the serial number using Photoshop (paranoid type) Pictures:
