  1. Further Information: These are finished Madisound Fostex BK-16 Folded Horn speakers, they are assembled, stained and varnished. The cabinets are in very good condition. Madisound have recently brought this kit back, https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/full-range-speaker-kits/fostex-bk-16-folded-horn-kit-pair/ . These were built with the hardware supplied with the kit using the Fostex FE166 6.5" Full Range driver. They are very efficient drivers, around 93dB, I built these to go with my valve amp. I really enjoyed the sound but I got to a point where I had too many systems and was running out of room. Pick up only.
  2. Further Information: Great unit, original packaging and cables included. Plus I'll chuck in a Tchernov 1m USB-A TO B cable.
  3. Selling my beloved Fostex TH-610 in very good condition. There is some minor wear on the cups, but the pads are in perfect condition. Only selling as I have the big brother, the TH-900 as well! These are balanced sounding headphones with excellent bass response. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Thanks for looking!
  4. Item: Leak Stereo 20 valve amp Location: Coburg Victoria Price: PRICE DROP $950 $899 $850 ono Donation to SNA on sale Item Condition: Used Reason for selling: not getting enough use Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, DD, COD Extra Info: I would much prefer to sell this locally but if there's no local interest I'll post, buyer pays postage Purchased from John's HiFi Exchange I've had this for about 4-5 years. I bought it for it's sound quality rather than a collector piece so I can't tell you much about how stock standard it is but I was told it has had minor upgrades. I added the ugly feet and speaker terminals for practical reasons but these are easily removed. The speaker terminals are only screwed in so simple enough to change. There are some gum marks from Johns annoying stickers he puts on hs stock. A little turps will get this off. Cosmetically it's showing it's age a bit but performance wise this amp is a little gem. It competes with modern equipment effortlessly. This is a reecognised classic British valve amp. The bass is full but not tubby, the mid range is weighty with detail and presence. I actually preferred this to my Audio Note Conqueror which I sold a few years ago. The el84's are a mix of European origin and the 12ax7's are Mullards which have had around 40 hours use. Any questions please ask. I guess I should mention that the Mullards are original made in Britain Mullards. Not re-issues. 6. I am in the market for a pair of either of the top mount horn super tweeters made by Fostex. Either the T925A, T900A, These are the bullet type that sit of the little round wooden stands. Thanks in advance for any help. Cheers, Steve
  7. Item: Fostex FE206En based ported single driver speakers. Very high efficiency - 96db\1W\1M in black, heavy stippled finished with bass port. Built to exactly Fostex specifications. Solid brass binding posts and soft rubber feet. They go as low as 50Hz and are extremely detailed. An absolute must for any flea power valve amp or low power SS amp. Will also accommodate higher power amps. I have played a 0.5W valve amp through these speakers to good volume. With magnet metal grills. Location: Southern Vic. Price: $480 Item Condition: As new - excellent condition. Reason for selling: Not wanted - too many speakers. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Look excellent with an acoustic and light non-reflective surface. Pictures:

  9. Full range Fostex FE166en drivers with Phase Plugs mounted in 18mm plywood BIB boxes. Jarra solid wood bases made from the old Dimmys in Footscray. Meranti wave guides The sides are gray, the fronts are a strange green. You might want to repaint them. 8 watts of tube power is more than enough for these efficient speakers. I've been happy with the BIBs for 6 years but have built smaller enclosures (MTLTs). I'll miss the BIB bass. Offers around $500. but what I really need want is a NOS DAC with USB. Currently connected and can demonstrate. Thanks, Mack Yarraville, Victoria
  10. Item: Modded Fostex T50RP, Audio GD Digital Interface with DSP-3 (USB), Audio GD NFB-11 Location: Bendigo, VIC 3550 Price: Varies DAC/DI Combo is SOLD! Item Condition: Very Good Condition Reason for selling: Moving trying to minimize things to move with Payment Method: Pickup/shipping - Cash, paypal (buyer covers fee), direct deposit Both the Digital Interface and Audio GD NFB-11 (with Sabre32 ES9018 Dac chip) were purchased approx. 1.5 years ago the Audio GD DI has the upgraded clock which was installed at Audio GD. This was used to connect my computer to my receiver and to my headphones. You can read the detailed specs on the Audio GD NFB-11 here: http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/Headphoneamp/NFB11/NFB11EN.htm You can read the detailed specs on the Audio GD Digital Interface with DSP-3 (USB only) + upgraded TCXO clock here: http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/dac/USBface/Digital1EN.htm Comes with BNC cable (to connect the DI to the NFB-11) and USB cable + Nice RCA cables to connect the NFB-11 to an amp or receiver for speakers. Pretty much these modded T50RPs sound very close to the hifiman HE-6s I used to own, very close but in a closed headphone. (He-6 still sound better but they also cost much much more) Modifications to the T50-RP can be seen here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/583371/t50-response I purchased them directly from HDman, very detailed list on how he did the modifications and the parts he used. Only little flaw is that he cut out small notches on the original rubber/plastic headband to mount at one time a head tracking system for virtual surround sound. Looking for $220 ONO for the Audio GD NFB-11/Audio GD Digital Interface combo with cables (as I think it should sell as a single unit) and $200 ONO for the T50RPs. Pictures are available on request
  11. Hi all, please see below for details. Item: Fostex HP-A3 32bit DAC/Amp Location: Central Coast, NSW Price: $250 + postage (local pick up available too) Item Condition: Used (good condition, minor cosmetic wear and tear) Reason for selling: I'd like to try something else; you know how it is Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: Original boxes and USB cable included. Will also include an optical cable if you desire. Pictures:
  12. Item: Fostex T50RP Orthodynamic Headphones (Modded) Location: Bendigo, VIC Price: $150 (negotiable) Item Condition: Good Condtiion Reason for selling: Have a pair of Hifiman HE-6 Headphones...they sound very similar so no need for two pairs of similar sounding headphones Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Direct Deposit, Paypal Extra Info: I purchased these at the start of the year as I've heard modded T50RP headphones sound very close to top teir orthodynamics. I cannot say they are wrong, they sound VERY close to my HE-6, but overall I still perfer the HE-6, so these are up for sale. Modifications are: Hard wiring directly to each driver terminating into a balanced 4-pin XLR connector (I am willing to reterminate this into a 1/4 in jack if perfered no extra cost). Response Super Sound Deadener Acoustic Fiberglass Insulation Cotton wool Middle Headband Shure 840 pads (modded to be angled) (one has a slight tear in it) (pictures included) The only other mention is the previous owner of the headphones cut into the stock band to mount a Smyth SVS Realiser reciever. You can read up on Various internet forums for what the modifications bring, but I can say the modifications have really transformed the T50RP, which in stock form don't sound bad, but are very very far away from the HE-6, these sound closer to the HE-6 but are not as bright, and have less sibilance. Compared to a stock T50RP, Bass response is much better, clarity is much improved, overall sound signature is Neutral to neutral-warm I would say, soundstage is better.
