  3. I have several Genesis books that I am about to sell. I'm planning to offer them offshore as they are rather expensive; however if anyone is interested please PM me for further details. The books are: 1. Liverpool Days (Beatles) 2. Some Time in New York City (Lennon) 3. I-Contact (Stones) 4. Pleased to Meet You (Stones) 5. Crossfire Hurricane (Stones) 6. From Masons Yard to Primrose Lane (Stones) Information about the books can be found at: http://www.genesis-publications.com/halloffame The following UK site has some of these books for sale; my asking prices however would be less than theirs! http://www.snapgalleries.com/books/
  4. This attenuator was built to prove a design concept and tested in a passive preamp I am running. It worked as expected, and sounded very good. I subsequently replaced it with a new version built with Goldpoint switches and Dale resistors at about 10 times the price http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=298403284
  5. Perreaux SM6 MK1 - in good cond apart from very small scratch on the front fascia, this is currently listed on T/Me for $1000 (for the 4th time, can't believe it hasn't sold) but I'm happy to withdraw it if I can get an easy and quick sale to an A/enzer- $900 Denon DVD A1XV - I just know I'm going to regret selling this, it's had very little use and is mint with remote, cables, box and manual - $650 Slinkylink 1M XLR - purchased s/hand, these are quite an early pair but are in good nick - $150 Audiquest Panther 0.5m RCA - pretty sure I still have the original packaging for these somewhere - $180
  6. Hey all, For sale, one pair of these http://www.easternhifi.co.nz/default,759,audience_82.sm Condition is good, roughly 7.5/10 A few scuffs here and there, but nothing major. Asking $2499 including shipping. Selling on behalf of a customer due to upgrade. These do not have a shop warranty as such. Are currently running perfectly and can be viewed at our Palmerston North store.
  7. Hi folk, continuing the down sizing. 1. One pair Dynaudio Audience 82, I am 2nd owner. Bought them Christmas 2007 from a dealer in Palmerston Nth who said they were about a year old then. Can't see any marks. Have been in a child free non smoking environment. Will put on TM soon. Probably list for around $2k on TM, list here for $1750. Have them set up in my 2 channel system at present and can be demo'd if you like (although will be taking my Perreaux amp into Axent this weekend to have some LEDs in the display replaced - will then list that as well). Have original boxes. 2. One pair Proac Tablette 2000s, look unmarked (some slight scuffing on bases from where they have sat on stands), and have had very little use. Bought new about 2004 (or could be '03 - time flies) from Hubands in Whangarei, when I had an idea to have them on a vinyl only system upstairs, but plans changed and have been boxed and stored from soon after buying them. Have them set up at present as rears in my HT set up! Cost $2300 new, really not sure what value to place on them. Make me an offer! Have original boxes. Read the reviews, these can really boogie and like a lot of mini monitors image like crazy. Makes Pavarotti sound like he is in the room. Would prefer pick up (I am near Orere Point) but work in Manukau City so a pick up from there can be arranged. John
  8. Hi folk, down sizing everything for when we move house. List this here before going to TM. Carousel type CD stand, solid pine, holds 48 cds each side (192 total), 108cm high, 33cm wide. This looks as good as new to me, I am original owner, had it for 18 months, retail (new) at HN for $349. For forum members $100 ono Attached files
  9. With the addition of my new JBL K2's I am wondering what the control of large wattage may do for them. I have a Ming Da MC3008AB integrated amp. This is the only item that has stayed consistently in my system for a few years now. Recently had the power resisters replaced but other than that faultless. It runs 40 watts class A with huge amperage - ECC 82/83 preamp tubes 300B 805 output tubes. Many options in regards the tubes I could supply with it - currently running 1944 805's - sounds fantastic. Do you want to swap & give tubes a go - looking for a big amp or mono blocks & preferably a tube preamp - value the ming at about $1800 with basic tubes - happy to pay a cash difference for the right gear. What you got?
  10. Well, to fund my next up/sidegrade and to free up some cash to buy a house I am selling my turntable. It is obviously in perfect condition. I will be including: Rpm10 Speedbox SE2 AQ King Cobra interconnects Project Alignment gauge Project bearing adjuster tool Finite Elemente Ceraballs (for the Ground it Platform) A couple of different platter mats Probably some other stuff as I find it. This stuff is worth $5800 or so.... For this hoard of goodies I would like $4000, and I don't want to split it. If you want to rob me of my favourite cartridge it will be $5000. The cart by the way is a Clearaudio Virtuoso Wood, that would have at most 50 hours on it. I would rather keep the cartridge though, but I obviously have access to various brands, so I can get you one of those if you like... Also I want to sell my Sound Creations Sonata rack. 4 shelf, with the nice cone feet upgrade. Black. I would like $300 for it. Of course if there is no interest here I will list it on Tardme, but I would rather not. Cheers.
  11. hey guys/gals, got this as an insurance replacement. never played they old one, and new TV records onto USB, and i have a bluray player. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=294541091&ed=true cheers, mike
  12. These are fantastic speakers, and beautiful in rosewood. But they just aren't 'me' so I'm hoping to pass them on. They're in immaculate condition, I don't believe there is anything cosmetically wrong with them and they certainly perform just the way they're meant to. I have the original boxes. I will bring them over and let you audition them for a couple hours in your home if you're in or around Christchurch. I wouldn't want anyone's uncertainties about the brand getting in the way of these speakers. I will let them go for $1400.
  13. Less than 2 years old (I think but Omegaspeedy will know for sure). Specs Looking for $2K
  14. Speakers are 2.5 years old. Cherry finish. Excellent condition. 6 Mono aktiv cards (4 mid/bass and 2 treble). These fit into Linn's Chakra/Majik/Akurate amps. I think there is an adapter kit available for fitting them into Linn 2250/5125 poweramps but I don't have any details on it. Could find out if required. Kind regards Paul
  15. On TM at http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=288630434 $2500.00 to Audioenz peeps.
  16. I have for sale a pair of SPM Reference speaker cables. 8ft Biwire with shotgun termination. Z plugs on the amp end and a pair of Z plugs and spades on the speaker end. Condition is excellent. These were right up the Nordost chain and only a level below the legendary Valhallas (still in production). They would suit any reasonably high end system. From the Nordost website http://static.nordost.com/Cables/speaker-reference-spm.htm There are plenty of reviews on the net http://www.audio-ideas.com/reviews/nordost.html I'm looking for $1800 from site members. New price for these cables was US$2000 per metre plus $450 per additional 0.5m. pm me for more info - auditions welcome.
  17. Hi everyone, Upgrading my speakers and making a decision in next day or so. I'll write up my impressions of a range of speakers I've tried. It's been really interesting - and thanks to Adikt for loan of his Ninkas which really helped in understanding what we liked. Anyway, before I put these Polks on trademe, I thought a fellow audioenz member might be interested. I have no idea what they're worth really. This they were $2400 new so should be worth $500+. I’ve owned since new in mid-90’s. They have lovely treble/mid with powerful bass – great for pop and rock music. Plenty of reviews on the web you can check out. Can be bi-wired. They’re black and completely unmarked except for a very small knock on one of the bottom rear corners. You can see this in one of the photos but it’s impossible to see without getting down on the ground behind the speakers (not a listening position I’d recommend). The grilles are in great condition (I’ve always left them on). The thin plastic surround that fits around the grilles is OK but it attaches with little plastic push in bits. Some of these have snapped – I guess they got brittle over time. You can’t tell this with grilles on and I only noticed it when I took the grilles off for the photo. So I’d recommend you either leave the grilles on or off – whatever your personal preference is. They’re not going to be happy being taken on and off much. 940 (H) x 311 (W) x 370 (D) at the base of the speaker. They taper in width-ways and are 250 mm wide at the top. Weight is about 25kgs so they are quite heavy. I use metal cones on the bottom of the speaker rather than the original spikes. For those who haven’t seen cones they’re like a small pointed ice-cream cone about 4 cms high. The round bottom is blu-tacked to the base of the speaker and the point sits into your carpet. If you have wooden floors I have separate felt-bottomed supports whih match the cones. These sit on the floor and the cone-points fit into an indentation in these. I do have 7 of the original 8 spikes but must have lost one. So if the winner wants to use the original spikes they’ll have to find another spike to fit, which shouldn’t be too hard. I’ll supply the cones and bases that I’m using. And they come with original boxes. If you're in Auckland happy for you to come and listen - I'm in St Heliers. Glenn

  19. I'm about to sell a pair of Wharfedale Opus2-1 speakers. Finish is High Gloss Black. They're in excellent condition, I don't believe there are any blemishes, scratches, etc. However one of the grills has a broken plastic pin. All reasonable offers considered. Please PM me. Prefer buyer to be in AKL as they're quite big and heavy. Yes, they have original boxes, etc. If no interest then I'll eventually list them on Trademe.
  20. like the title says, they are free. they came with my KEF 103.2 i bought recently but i have no need for them. far from flash as you'll see when i post a pick. sand not included as it is mostly all over the boot of my car now.
  21. Hi, I've got a pair of Morel MW220 Drivers here at the moment, If anyone is interested I'd like to swap them for an entry level Hi-Fi turntable. The speakers are in fairly good condition, ones perfect, the other has had the dustcap pushed in (and now pushed out again by me) but looks pretty good still. nice speakers use to retail for something like 190USD per driver. (also have one mint Morel tweeter that can go with them, don't know anything about it sorry. 1" silk doam.) Or I'll take offers on them. Cheers, Matt
