I'm planning on having a musical start to the new year. Not sure I've got the time for another review thread right now, but what the hell. I'll just start it and see what happens when. I'm hoping the 90's were a good time for Onkyo. I've heard some of the later models and while I thought the 9555 was quite good sounding I thought it was built a bit on the light side, lots of chassis flex to that amp. And the 9070 I didn't like at all, no life to it, just dull and dark and sort of blunt. So, I'm hoping these earlier Onkyo models were a bit more musical. We'll see.

Further Information: Audiophile vintage Marantz PM-45 integrated stereo amplifier in the black finish (1986 -1989). The Marantz PM-45 amplifier delivers 59 watts per channel (8 ohm) and features include a phono input (MM / MC) and tone control. Unit is operational and has been used in my garage setup, the volume pot is bit scratchy, so is the phono/cd direct button when pressed but after fiddling the sound comes nice and clear. A good clean maybe in order. Internal pictures suggest it hasn’t been serviced recently. Also another power cord will need to be sourced by the new owner as I have few other vintage marantz on rotation that use that rectangular two pin rectangular iec plug. Will be happy to do a quick demonstration. But be aware that what you buying may require some work

Further Information: Relisted noting comments from other values members. This sublime power amplifier is being sold as new. It has been sitting on a shelf as part of stock . I have assembled and cleaned it. The valves are still running in with about 40 hours of use so far I am running it through my Quad EL57s. Hi all, Just received my NOS Telefunken 12AX7 smooth plate tube to replace the stock Chinese made 12AX7 in the front window. I figured I would take a few shots of the internals while I was at it. This is a pretty impressive looking unit for the asking price, or at least I think so.

Further information: Negotiatiable. This amp is in mint condition and was purchased in May last year from Audio Trends. It comes with all original packaging and I can post to anywhere in Australia. The sound is exceptional and has plenty of power in reserve to drive most speakers. This amp was an upgrade from my Rega Brio amp and what a noticeable upgrade it was. The bass especially was a lot more controlled and the dynamic range increased dramatically. Music sounds effortless with this amplifier, it really is beautiful. I am going to miss it. Selling the excellent Cyrus 8.2 DAC Integrated amplifier in black. Sound is lively with fantastic detail and soundstage. Rated at 88 watts per channel into 6 Ohm. Current RRP is $3,399.00 AUD. A few caveats hence the low price: The backlighting on the front display does not work. It is readable but not from the other side of the room. I couldn't get the optical digital inputs to work. The coaxial ones work fine as do the analogue inputs. I don't have a remote control. Included in the sale are four BFA speaker connectors, four BPA to banana plug adapters and a power cable. Manual is available online.

Further information: This amp is in mint condition and works perfectly. A purchase from AVR as a manufacturer refurb. It is missing the remote but has original box and manual. I used it for probably less than 2 hours before being lured into the warm embrace of a Plinius. I did consider keeping it for a second system but then realised I would need to build a second room to accomodate it so here it is. For those who aren’t, it’s a warm sound often likened to a valve sound, mostly I think because of the absence of hardness or glare. They’ve driven my PMC Twenty5.22 and Noteperfect Ovation speakers for a few years, but I’ve finally upgraded so they need a new home.
