  1. Item: Marantz PM 80 Location: sydney Price: $450 FREE POSTAGE! Item Condition: very good see description Reason for selling: surplus Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I have a beautiful marantz pm 80 rare amp. These were top class back in the days . huge transformer, audio grade capacitors 18000uf each!!tells us the story how powerful and quality these amps are. Sound quality is exceptional and puts out a very natural soundstage. original 240 volts unit hard to find! condition is quite good for its age see pics. it weighs about 16 kgs for full disclosure all the function except the class A switch works perfectly. If the class A switch is off the amp works with no issues. As soon as the switch is turned on the sound is muffled. So i am thinking it just needs a service and check up and it will go back to its glory days. however one can still use the amp without service as it works otherwise. price is adjusted accordingly. professionally packed and free postage all over australia!! 2. Further information: PRICE DROP!! Extremely Rare combo Technics pre/power. Japan made 240 volts --Class AA Pre model: SU-A40 Power: SE-M100 True Dual mono pre /power puts out easily 120 watts a channel enough to run any power hungry speakers. with fully featured Digital Dac on board the m100 is really sought after. They are extremely well built as you can see from the pics. Full copper chassis for effective noise cancelation. 4xlarge nichicon capacitors on this beast for regulated constant power. The dual mono design and separate transformers for outstanding stereo separation. The pre A40 compliments the power amp perfectly to add all your sources including a beautiful phono stage and all tone controls. Sound wise..bass is well articulated, extended, tight ,fast . Midrange is fun and engaging to listen to. Treble is detailed and not harsh... This should match most speakers well with no issues. however you can tweak tone controls to match certain speakers/source.. Even by todays standards these should cost anything between 3-4 grand.. Condition is fair due to its age almost 30 years. It does have marks and scratches here and there. But the face is quite neat once it sits in the rack. It works flawlessly with no scratching noises. Been listening to it for a week before I started listing . This will be extremely well packed for interstate transit. 5-6 layers of heavy duty bubble wrap plus 2 layers of heavy duty cardboard..plus black wrap and straps. Postage is FREE AUS WIDE!!
