Hello fellow Thorens owners, Have a bit of a curly one. I have a TT whose sound I am not happy with so looking for ways to improve. I have a TD295mkIV (gift from my wife many years ago) with a 2M Red, into a Pro-ject Phono Box S2 feeding a CA 851a, to LS50s. When I compare my vinyl albums to the same albums via CD/Tidal through my Mojo, there is better bass extension but the highs sound smeared and the pace leaden. It's almost like listening to it through cassette. I am reluctant to replace the deck as it was from my wife, so wondering what my best plan of attack is. I am happy to overcapitalise as unlikely I will ever move it on. So, given this situation, I am looking to: - replace the stylus with 2M Blue; - replace cart with 2M Bronze - different phono cables - upgrade phono stage - upgrade arm. It was serviced about a year ago and VTA and tracking checked so setup should be fine. Any ideas appreciated.
