  1. Further information: This is the first generation Jot because it doesn't have the preamp on/off switch. I've upgraded to a new amp so the mighty Jotunheim needs a new occupant. The Jot's sound is clean and detailed without being dry. Using balanced output will tighten the bass and add heft, while nudging the amp's already amazing performance to up another level. The passive phono module is like the Mani, although the passive module is intended for MM carts only. Pickup is preferred but postage is available. Photos: PLEASE READ

  3. Seconded. I'm already in too deep to dig myself out. On a more serious note I think I can set some expectations on what to expect from a turntable connected to the same amp and out gear compared to digital. Bass on the TT will be softer, less impactful. More thud than thump so to speak. You will also get well acquainted with a high noise floor from things such as surface noise and distortion. Treble will start to match that from digital with cartridges roughly $200 and up. Magic will happen in sound staging and positioning. There's more air, more
  4. It's a tough unit to part with. There's just too much fun to be had with the EQs. However I prefer my Gungnir MB + Jotunheim in balanced mode so this isn't getting used. That being said I hear there's a bigger Loki on the way 😏
  5. Further information: Regretfully selling this beautiful equaliser as I've gone balanced in my main system. Bought from Schiit USA direct the week it was available. Australian AC adapter included. Will also throw in a pair of short RCA cables for your convenience. 6. Further information: Please note this is the discontinued LP120 (not the LP120X). Local pickup preferred. Shipping will be problematic as I no longer have the original packaging. I'm selling this as I decided to take vinyl seriously and upgraded a more capable turntable. This is the first deck I've ever owned. As my interest in the hobby grew, the LP120 grew with it. While the stock sound was passable, I've made some modifications to improve this turntable's sound quality: Internal phono preamp and USB module was professionally removed by an electricia
  7. Pmed. @elisix_ how does the 800S compare to the Focal Utopia? Not that the Utopia is in my price range but I've heard that the 800S compares favorably to the Utopia.
  8. Sounds like you prefer tube amps. Solid state amps tends to sound more clinical and clean. If you don't want tubes then a class A amp might have some of that tube quality without being tubes. As for recommendations, I'm a Schiit fan so take what I have with some salt (although I have done in store comparisons to other brands). Schiit products are pretty well known for their stacks. Their modius/magnius stack would easily fall under $1k and sound very impressive for the price. If you don't care for matched chassis, try the Vali 2+ (must be the +, check the sticker at the back) or th
