The unit was repaired - the bracket on the headphone could be twisted with the cable attached; minor, but I got it fixed to avoid future fraying.

Further information: Originally purchased at $850 in late July 2020 from PCCaseGear (VIC), finally arrived back in late in November after being sent (twice) for lengthy repairs to fix loose XLR bracket on the left cup. Manufacturers' warranty still stands. Used very little, as I bought Aryas from A2A during the intervening months. Purchase includes a set of Dekoni Elite Velour pads, which slightly lessen the headphones' sharp treble peak and give a more neutral balance than the stock A/B pads (while also being more comfortable). Completely fixed after I sent it back again - first time they just swapped out the cable and called the job done 🙃

The repair was made at a Beyerdynamic authorized facility in Aus - no sound issues, but the XLR bracket on the left headphone could be swiveled when the cable was attached, thought I'd get it fixed in case it caused the internals to fray. I believe secondhand owners would have to contact the headphone manufacturer directly re warranty/repairs, would've done that myself if I wasn't angling for a refund from PCCG.

Originally purchased from PCCaseGear (VIC). They were a pain in the arse and refused the refund, consumer co. said they're still technically in the right.
