I am planning to buy a set & have a couple of ads in my mind. 1. 4xJamo E650s, 6CEN, 6SUB (5.1) - $650 2. 2xJamo D507s, BA VR14, PSBS50 (5.0) - $600 I'm probably not the greatest judge on which specs are better, but for now I'm leaning towards #2.

I see there are a lot of lineups in Jamo. The C, D, E, S, classic, concert series. How do they compare to each other. Also the numbers? Is a S807 superior to a S650? TIA

I do have access to Classifieds, but I don't remember seeing anything a 5.1 for sub $500. Can you please share a few links?

If I were to pick, I'd say mostly movies, but the family watches other stuff too. So, is there something generic? There's about 10 feet between us and the TV. There's already a lot of reverb in the room since we just moved in.

Hello there First questions first, is a budget 7.1 speaker setup possible for under $500? Or should I push it up to $1000? Can you please suggest what brands or models I should be looking for? The sheer amount of brands/models is a bit overwhelming to me. I am also following the ebay/gumtree thread, but most of them seem a bit out of my budget or far away from NSW. Are there any you-cant-go-wrong-with-this brands that I should be looking for?

Or a Yamaha A380 for $300? I didn't realize it didn't have ARC until you mentioned. I might need it.

I'm trying to set up a beginner 7.1 home theater. Not looking for anything fancy, just a decent sound system. I'll probably not need the AVR for video but it's good to have standby pass through & ARC. Is this a good deal?
