  1. I never met or heard of Tony until an audio buddy here told me of his passing and how it effected him personally. Its obvious from the outpouring of love what kind of man he was. My heart goes out to his family and friends. May we all one day meet the folk we wish we had met in this lifetime. 🙏🏼
  2. Ive recently had to deal with a question similar to this... I dont know exactly what your preamp output (in mv or volts) is via the RCAs or what your power amps' input sensitivity is.... But ive recently learned that they need to matched quite closely to get the right volume output from your power amp. I also have a P2 recently purchased. (go and get the upgrade pack for $150... the Bias2 cart is immensely better!... the Carbon seems great... until ya put a Bias2 on it!) I also know many of the higher end kinda guys would simply pooh both carts... but f'ing trust me! Be sure to alig
  3. Further information: Pair (left and right due to side firing woofers) in pretty much perfect condition. These are highly regarded floorstanders... look em up. They dont fit my room so unfortunately theyve gotta go. 4. I have been keeping an eye on the classifieds too... And will continue to do so 😉 Ive had three great experiences so far purchasing here... Im not adverse to making it four 🙂
  5. Ive got a contact that can possibly hook me up with the X1 plus Bronze for a lil over 1500 Billy... Thats the very top of my price range.
  6. Ive gotta ask a question to this highly experienced group of folk. I currently have a very new Rega P2 with the upgrade of a Bias2 cart. I do enjoy it for sure but It has limitations. Im now able to consider upgrading to a ProJect X1 with a Ortofon Blue or maybe even Bronze cart. I do really like my current Rega but I currently have the ability to move up to what I perceive as a true (entry level) audiophile quality TT. Is my money worth spending? Ive also been on the StereoNet classifieds but tbh on turntables id prefer to buy new unless something was impossible to look over... and ive seen n
  7. Yeah wow... fair enough. Lesson learned! I guess the fact its not 4k compatible is a real minus these days. Oh well... I still love mine 😉 If you look further up this forum Chris explains the details a bit... I think its Op though.
  8. I very much apologise for my naivety in this.... Ive learned the lesson and have now PM'd Wood in this regard. Please dorgive me not knowing the way things are done... ive learned a fair and proper lesson.
  9. Hiya Wood, Im very interested in this amp. Im also relatively close to you at Avalon Beach so coming on a bit of a drive over to you is ok. Im wondering if this is your best price? Id be able to do the drive Tuesday arvo if we came to an understating :-)) Kind regards, Scott.
  10. I had an inkling this may be of interest to others :-))
  11. Well ive gone ahead and ordered the specially built for me unit from Chris! I can barely put into words how special it feels! Its gonna take a few weeks as he needs to order bits and pieces he normally doesnt use. Thanks you so very much for your extremely kind offer to loan me your Mini Fono in the meantime Dave! I have PM'd you in that regard 👍🏻👍🏻 I will keep this thread posted with any developments regarding my one-off special Stereo Coffee preamp as information becomes available 👊🏻👊🏻👍🏻👍🏻
  12. Before contacting Chris I also considered the Fono as a nice entry level preamp... and definately right now it would be at the top of my list if I hadnt heard of the StereoCoffee... but I find myself drawn to spending the extra dosh simply due to two things... first the obvious great reviews... but second and far more importantly Chris himself! First rule of selling is people buy from people they like. And I like Chris! I know beyond doubt he cares for my audio situation and believes in his product. Its a simple conclusion.
  13. I should say "salespersonship" as in my experience ladies are quite possibly more trusted and better at sales ;-))
  14. I will keep you posted lenticularis 🙂 This level of service from Chris is kinda unprecedented these days.. Makes me wanna build a company around pure customer service. So many shops are what I think of as stereo snobs. Pure customer service is something a robot can never do better than an actual person. Maybe proper salesmanship is one of the only jobs in the future that a robot cannot do.
  15. I seriously doubt if the reciever I bought for over 2 grand is now available for 50-250 now 😉 I have watched many classifieds and never even seen one for sale. But I do appreciate the fact that its phono stage is under par... and the advice youve given 👍🏻👍🏻 both the Vincent and NAD are definitely options I have looked at now... for solid state the NAD's are a bargain imho... similar to Rega and ProJect. However now im kinda sold on spending pretty much my whole budget on a StereoCoffee.
  16. Gday again lads and lassies, Youre absolutely right ihearmusic... but heres an update... Ive been in contact with Chris... and hes offered to build me one! A one off! This only happened yesterday and ive yet to hear a price but he and I have emailed a bit back and forth over the last few days about this. I must say he is one incredible guy! His level of involvement about my admittedly humble system and his input with advice has been astonishing. I am without a doubt going to get his one-off designed for me phono preamp. I cant imagine anyone with my kinda dosh to spend or even waa
  17. Now im a lil confused... stereo coffee seem to have a very desirable preamp... but tbh im finding it hard to justify spending the kind of bucks needed to simply upgrade from the one in my receiver... which to my ears sounds pretty good... nice balance, decent soundstage that extends much further out than the speakers themselves... a quality I highly prize. Im wondering if spending the money is not worth it. I kinda had my heart set on a decent and noticeable sonic upgrade... but 5-600 bucks buys alot of albums! I wonder where the money is better spent 😕
  18. Never heard of them Steve M... i'll check em out! Cheers!
