  1. Further information: Probably frowned upon by the purists and audiophiles, but it served me well, and is a very well reviewed soundbar setup. Only selling as I now have a dedicated Home Theatre configuration. Less than a year old (purchased 29th November 2019 - receipt available) so still under warranty. Comes with everything it did when new. Excellent condition. 2. That's exactly right! Honestly the only things I need are a handful of 4K HDMI ins (like, only 3-4), good power, and some stereo pre-outs for a dedicated amp to drive music. I don't need Dolby Atmos, Spotify, whatever other bells-and-whistles. I have an Apple TV that can handle basically all of the smarts. Just give me a good amplifier! Fortunately the RX-V685 seems to fit that bill, and then some.
  3. Thanks. I did see this but unfortunately I do need the front pre outs which that model lacks.
  4. Great, thank you! I did see this in my searches, and I think it's the best option.
  5. Item: Yamaha RX-V685 AV Receiver Price Range: Varies Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: Seems to be a bad time to be buying an AV Receiver. I'm after a Yamaha RX-V685 or equivalent (would consider a Denon AVR-X1600 but prefer Yammy). Requires 5.1 output minimum, good power and performance for the money; phono stage a bonus but not required, though pre-outs for a stereo amp *are* required (which is why I need the RX-V685). Don't need Atmos or anything like that In Sydney. Please don't forget to report your post as FOUND when possible. (You can now delete this text).
  6. Hello! Looking to dive deeper into the world of HiFi. Having had a set of ELAC Debuts and a Pro-Ject Essentials III, I'm now building out my new setup for both viewing and listening. So far I have a pair of B&W 606s and a B&W HTM6 centre channel. Figuring out the AV Receiver, surrounds, subwoofer and turntable. Set on the Rega Planar 3 with a Nagaoka MP-110; from what I'm reading it's a solid combination which should last me a very long time. Subwoofer, likely an SVS SB-1000 (don't need anything crazy or ported; listen to music more than watch movies). Will need some help with AV receiver, dedicated power amp (maybe) and phono stage. I think I'll just stick with a Denon 1600 or Yamaha 685 which both have enough power, features and a phono stage to get me up and running. Upgrade to dedicated units later on, if I need. Thanks for reading!
