  4. Hey Guys, I have a Yamaha RX-780 and looking to upgrade my speakers for my HT system. After some information if my AVR is up to the task of driving the following speakers to reasonable levels (from what I've read the KEFs need a fair amount of power) KEF Q750 KEF Q250C KLIPSCH R41M (Sorrounds) I have tried to compare the specs of each of the models to determine this but I cant seem to get my head around it. The Yamaha can drive 2CH at 95W and the KEF amp requirements are 15-150W. So to run the KEF at complete full output you would need 150W on each channel? I understand you would never do that in reality and 95W would get it to a very loud level but once you add the center and surrounds how much of that power is relocated and lost? Would I end up with less then ideal power going front and centre. I'd imagine those specs are measured in a lab and are not accurate with real world application too. I have searched through forums which lead to mixed messages from 'should be fine' to do not do it. Can anybody throw some wisdom my way or have first hand experience? I could look at going down the path of power amp at the added cost or go for a more efficient speaker such as the Klipsch RP line. Appreciate any help or insight from the community. Cheers.
  5. Item: Integrated Amp with HT Bypass Price Range: 2000ish Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info:
  6. Yeah a 2nd hand 2000 series would be a dream for that price. Sounds like it will stay a dream though 🙃
  7. Yeah ive got my eye on the SVS range, in particular the 1000 series (within budget). Can't seem to decide whether go ported or not.
  8. Cheers man. I just had to be patient 😅
  9. Item: Subwoofer (Any reputable brand) Price Range: $800 - 1500 Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: Looking at upgrading to a decent subwoofer that can reasonably handle both music and HT (leaning more towards music). Currently have a klipsch R-100SW which does the HT thing okay but can sound very muddy and lacking with music playback. Looked into the SVS SB1000 and REL HT1003 as possible options to purchase new. Nothing too big to keep the misses happy and doesn't have to bring the walls down. Located in Adelaide and would prefer something locally (not that we have a choice currently). Anybody got anything they are looking at parting ways with? Thanks, Joshua.
  10. Currently in the market for a sub woofer upgrade and keen to hear some recommendations for around the $1000-1500 price point. Looking for something that will do both HT and music. Oh and not too big... gotta keep the misses happy
