  1. Duly noted, thanks for the video. I've ordered the kit from that site you linked. It says it comes with instructions also so that's a bonus. I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks so much again.
  2. Hi again @ACT2020. Thanks for that link, I'm going to buy one now. I have to be honest, I don't even know how to check that it is belt problems that's the issue but I'll get the kit anyway and give it a go. Do you know of any good online guides for changing the belts? Thanks also for the offer to change them over, unfortunately I'm in Melbourne.
  3. @ACT2020Thanks for your reply. Would I need something like the link below shows, or is there something cheaper that might do? https://au.directnine.com/products/complete-belt-kit-w-idler-tire-for-nakamichi-bx125
  4. Hi all, Looking for someone in Melbourne who could repair my cassette deck. When I hit play, rewind or forward it operates for about one second then stops. Thanks in advance for any help.
  5. I need someone for this too but I'm in Melbourne. Hi @Tubularbells, where in Melbourne are you and would you be able to fix a Nakamichi BX-125? I'm not sure what's up with it exactly but when I press play, rewind or fast forward it just stops about a second later.
  6. Hi DrSK. Unfortunately the CD player doesn't have coax output.
  7. Thanks for that. Definitely willing to try something older. The rest of my system was made in the 80s. 👍
  8. I haven't heard of those, I'll keep an eye out, and an ear! Cheers.
  9. Hi Mat, good point regarding sound signature, I've never really thought about that. I think my preference depends on what I'm listening to, so a player that could manage both would be great. The Burr-Brown pcm-1704 comes up often. Thanks very much for your input.
  10. No problem. I think I'd prefer a single unit. Thanks again.
  11. Hi, Any chance you'd ship? I'm in Vic, sth-eastern suburbs, but stuck with the 5km rule. Or perhaps even meet half way? Haha.
  12. Thanks to everyone who has replied. I'm blown away by the responses (all of which I want to go with, haha) and am carefully considering all information and options suggested. It's helped me learn a lot more than I expected to. I've made a list of of all the units that people have recommended and am trying to make a decision. I'm intrigued by the suggestion of getting a separate DAC and a cd player as a transport. I was just saying to Nordust in my last post that I have over 5,000 cds and am running out of room for them, and therefore would definitely be interested in the best way t
  13. Hi @Nordust. The replies have been amazing and I'm completely torn between several options. I've made a list of all recommendations that I want to check out further. I have been leaning towards the Marantz but am also really interested in what people have said about the Denafrips Ares DAC. I'm completely new to the concept of a separate DAC. I've seen people point out the benefits of one for streaming. Does this mean for streaming audio from Spotify? Sorry if that's a silly question, lol. I would definitely like to use my system for both cds and for streaming. I have about 5,000 cds and am run
