  1. We recently had some initial feedback on the Line Magnetic LM-34iA from a very happy customer which we would like to share: “Listened for a couple of hours last night, first things I noticed: I have a soundstage now, yay. haha Instruments sound like actual instruments. You can “see” the bass strings for example. bass was large and boomy compared to my SS amp. i put a sock in my bass port to get rid of the boomyness. as the speakers are in the same position as the SS amp im assuming this is to do with the control of the low end?? One surprising thing i didnt think was an actual thing in music was speed or urgency. There were a few songs i thought were “slower” and this amp was just a beat quicker or up on its toes. i bet you love when people cant talk “audio” . haha Basically the amp gave me what i was missing with my current SS. a curtin taken off the mid range and exciting brought back into the music. A performance rather than 2 speakers.” Feedback update - 22nd June 2020 "Played around a bit more this weekend. I have 2 DACs that can be used as a pre as well. Interestingly when I bypassed the amps pre it got rid of the boomyness I was talking about. Did this only for a test and now it's back as an integrated. Having used it for about 10-15hrs only I feel like it is already starting to clean up. Also the dynamics become apparent when the boomyness is gone. And another also it shows up your system very easily, the difference between my DACs is very apparent. NAD m51 is alot more exciting and detailed while the benchmark DAC 1 is not as much, possibly hits a little harder on the bottom end."
  2. Our next introduction post to another member of the Line Magnetic family! We plan to do this for all the products we are bringing to Australia over the next few weeks, introducing them one by one, to give you an insight into what they have to offer. Last time it was the LM-150iA, this time is the messenger - the LP-33 Phone Stage. If anyone else on the planet has seen the movie “Evil Roy Slade”, starring John Astin of Addams Family fame, you may recall Mickey Rooneys’ part as Nelson L. Stool. He portrayed the 19th century railway tycoon who made his way to the top from his start as a humble telegraph operator who famously wore his finger down through sheer diligence at his post, and became known through a silly ditty entitled “Stubby Index Finger”. Anyway this convoluted introduction leads us to the next member of the LM family, the aptly named LP-33 phono stage. Like Nelson L. Stool, his job is to take in the message and send it out again, suitably amplified - but unchanged. Again, like Mr Stool, he’s an individual. Sporting a very industrial hammertone livery, 3 carefully matched ECC803S tubes, a single 6Z4 rectifier in the separate power supply and a neat volume control that resembles in no small way a combination lock, he goes about his business in his own way but does it very well indeed- rising to the top! Other neat details include a locking mechanism on the aforementioned volume control, as well as extra shielding around the delicate internals to further ward off intrusive interference. Capable of accepting input from low and high output cartridges and the huge array of vintage and new tubes from the famed 12AX7 family (Telefunken, anyone?) this all plays into his biggest strength….…. just sounding like music. Detail, while present in spades, takes a back seat to presenting a lively, fun and thoroughly immersive experience. So spend some time with the Line Magnetic LP-33. He’s a character and, like all the true characters in our lives, we are all the richer for having him around! Available for demo now - check the Line Magnetic Australia website for official retailers! We'd Love to hear your stories and experiences of this product, along with any photos. 3. We recently had some feedback on the Line Magnetic LM-34iA from a very happy customer which we would like to share: “Thanks very much, it is truly a work of art and the sound quality is absolutely superb. The packing was excellent and secure. I’ll be sure to recommend your service and communication.”
  4. Our next introduction post to another member of the Line Magnetic family! We plan to do this for all the products we are bringing to Australia over the next few weeks, introducing them one by one, to give you an insight into what they have to offer. Last time it was the LM-32DAC, incoming this time is the super cool uncle who’s only 15 years older than you - the LM-150iA Integrated Amplifier. He has a wicked mullet (business up front, party in back), does what he wants when he wants, and drives an XC Fairmont Ghia with the big nasty 351 under the bonnet. Imagine you're 12 years old and your uncle being EVERYTHING you want to be. Well, uncle LM-150iA is here! The most powerful amp in the LM lineup with 100 roaring KT150 watts per channel, the LM-150iA will have your speakers straightening up and flying right in no time - but in such a suave way that you can’t help but admire the cut of its’ jib. Kinda mixing metaphors here, from aeronautics to sailing, but we think they’re equally apt! Being a guy with plenty of muscle, he has a decent level of bulk to him too. But it’s not unwieldy at a svelte 32.5kg, which enables him to move like Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. You see what we’re saying here? The LM150iA is ripped, but also slick, smooth and unflappable, with the chops to hit the dance floor like a pro! Like the tailpipes at the back of the Fairmont, the 4 KT150 tubes let you know it means business. You’ll also see 6SN7 as drivers, 12AX7 as inputs and, a 12AU7 acting as a rectifier. Your tube rolling options are limitless! There are outputs for 4, 8 AND 16 ohm speakers, as well as a preamp input allowing you to use the LM-150iA as a power amp for further flexibility. Add to that a pair of golden glowing VU meters (that double as bias adjustment meters, making checks and adjustments quick and easy) and a fit and finish like Fonzie's hair (not a strand out of place) you’ll be mesmerised by what it brings to your listening space. Need power, but want the panache that only tubes can really provide? The LM-150iA has you covered. Available for demo now - check the Line Magnetic Australia website for official retailers! We'd Love to hear your stories and experiences of this product, along with any photos. More details on the Product Page

  6. We recently had some feedback on the Line Magnetic LM-150iA from a very happy customer which we would like to share.. "Quick report on amp. After 2 weeks of letting things run in including some new cables I have to say I’m ecstatic with the way the LM 150iA has fitted in with my system. The music is spacious with a wide sound stage and imaging is spot on with the ATC SM11. It drives them effortlessly with tight control, the bass and midrange are perfect in my system but it’s the high range treble that’s sublime to my ears. I can’t imagine suffering any listening fatigue with this amp. It is a perfect midway point between SS and SE tube which is just what I was chasing, thanks for everything!" Some photos below..

  8. Our next introduction post to another member of the Line Magnetic family! We plan to do this for all the products we are bringing to Australia over the next few weeks, introducing them one by one, to give you an insight into what they have to offer. Last time it was the LM-845 Premium integrated amplifier. This week its the upstart teen, who’s actually quite likeable - the LM-32DAC Digital-to-Analog Converter. Remember that kid in school that you detested but also grudgingly admired for being great at sport, being popular among peers and opposite sex, AND always managing good grades? The LM-32DAC is a bit like them, capable of handling anything you can throw at it (up to 32/384 PCM and DSD256) with poise and grace. With “socially distanced” power supplies (2 units, carefully optimised for each of the digital and analogue circuit sections and separated from the other delicate circuitry), XMOS usb input, the renowned Sabre ESS9028Pro chip, almost every digital input you could think of plus single ended AND balanced outputs it really is something of the hackneyed Swiss Army Knife! On top of this you can also switch, on the fly, between solid state and tube outputs (the latter courtesy of 2x 12AU7 bottles, perfect for more tube rolling). Tube rectification of the analogue section with a neat little 6Z4 taking care of those duties. The LM32DAC seems about as far removed from the vintage Western Electric vibe (Line Magnetic's sonic inspiration) as it could possibly be, but one listen will tell you that the spirit of that wonderful sound is infused within, presented in a way that is surefooted, precise, and detailed but most of all engaging and musical. Have a listen for yourself through an authorised retailer, and reminisce about those high school days when you had barely a care in the world... Available for demo now - check the Line Magnetic Australia website for official retailers! We'd Love to hear your stories and experiences of this product, along with any photos. 11. Our next introduction post to another member of the Line Magnetic family! We plan to do this for all the products we are bringing to Australia over the next few weeks, introducing them one by one, to give you an insight into what they have to offer. Last time it was the LM-805iA. Now it's time for the Elder Statesman - the LM-845 Premium integrated amplifier. Wise beyond his years, he understands power isn’t the be all and end all but rather finesse and restraint are the true path. The LM-845 Premium when paired with the right speakers (and there really isn't many it will fail to drive), you’ll be presented with a staggering display of only what the artist intended. Nothing more. Of course this will be presented in such a way that even the tiniest details will be laid bare, however not thrust to the centre of the soundstage - distinct though they are, they will remain tiny, as intended. Large swashes of sonic colour will be spread across the aural canvas, which extends wider, taller and deeper than you ever anticipated, with percussive elements given all of the thrilling timbre they naturally possess! Fitted with pairs of 12AX7 (input tubes, perfect for tailoring with NOS or new types), 310A, the famous 300B and those twin glorious towers of 845, he also has that huge central VU meter as well as twin bias current meters (one for the 300B and one for the 845), with all controls for adjustment conveniently located on the front panel. No tiny screwdrivers needed! In an unexpected twist, the main chassis also sports 2 separate power transformers, with the enormous custom wound output transformers housed in the second chassis and connected by twin umbilicals. At a total weight of 62kg, you’ll be glad the designers went to this trouble! To get this level of build and sound quality from other well-marketed manufacturers you know you’ll be paying significantly more than $11,999. Try it for yourself at your nearest authorised LM dealer soon and feel that special brand of magic for yourself. Available for demo now - check the Line Magnetic Australia website for official retailers! We'd Love to hear your stories and experiences of this product, along with any photos. 12. News just in from Thomas Mayer at ELROG in Germany - The Molybdenum Plate ELROG ER300B is coming! "Here a sneak preview of our new 300B variant, a molybdenum plate version of the ER300B. We just got prototypes of the new molybdenum plate 300B freshly off the vacuum pump. This new 300B will not replace the existing ER300B but will be a premium version as we have done with the ER242 a d ER284 which are molybdenum plate equivalents of the ER211 and ER845. Technical specs remain the same the only difference is the use of molybdenum as plate material rather than nickel. Since the molybdenum as plate material makes a remarkable difference in the ER242 and ER284 it was a logical step to introduce a molybdenum 300B as well. We still need to do some qualification and productisation steps before the tube can be released. But after I listened to the prototypes I had the urge to share the news. The molybdenum enhances the qualities of our ER300B which is praised for its airy and high resolution sound with a solid bass and strong tone colours. I am very excited to share the news about this new tube development. An announcement will follow when the tube is ready to order and ship."
  13. Our next introduction post to another member of the Line Magnetic family! We plan to do this for all the products we are bringing to Australia over the next few weeks, introducing them one by one, to give you an insight into what they have to offer. Last time it was the LM-34iA, now it's time to meet the Hulking eldest brother - the LM-805iA. The LM-805ia is actually a sweetheart, but when he gets roused can pack a real punch, don’t say we didn’t warn you! With 48 watts of serious, but sweet SET power, plus outputs for 4, 8 AND 16 ohm, this one has the juice to drive most speakers at most sane listening levels. He’s also been hitting the gym pretty hard, beefing up to 42kg of muscle - a testament to the size of the in-house wound power and output transformers. So get a mate to help, the struggle will be more than worth it we promise! Yet another fantastic amplifier for tube rollers, you could spend your whole life just trying out all the 6SL7 and 6SN7 variants, not to mention the 300B and spectacular 805 tubes lighting up your listening space. The aesthetic is enhanced even further with a lovely brace of VU meters, lit with a similar golden glow. So if you want that unmistakeable single ended triode sound, but don’t have high sensitivity speakers (or even if you do), have a listen to the LM-805ia at your nearest Line Magnetic dealer. You WILL be pleasantly surprised! Available for demo now - check the Line Magnetic Australia website for official retailers! We'd Love to hear your stories and experiences of this product, along with any photos. More details at the Product Page
