  1. Item:NAD C300 stereo integrated (with faults) Price Range: Free Item Condition: Used Extra Info: I bought this second hand about 6 months ago and it was working perfectly but it stopped working about a month ago. Fixing it is a bit beyond me but if anyone wants it they're welcome! Pick up in Hornsby NSW Please don't forget to report your post as FOUND when possible. (You can now delete this text).
  2. I’m glad you had such a good experience with it. It sounds like they’re a great sub!
  3. Yeah I think keeping it seperate like this sounds like a fun way to try different things and slowly workout what works. Also, how did you find the SVS sub? I was looking at that one as a possible option?
  4. These both sound like great options! Have the features I’ll need for sure. I only have a Schiit Modi 3, nothing flash but it sounds like it improves upon the internal Dacs. I’m mostly wanting to think my system through so that I’m not cornered into going down one path because of one piece of gear. Thanks everyone for your help here!
  5. Thanks! This is a helpful way to think about it. Yeah keeping it all digital for as long as possible seems like a great way to do it
  6. Item: Schiit Eitr - USB to Spdif Converter Location: Sydney Price: 180 Item Condition: Like new Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Bought about a month ago so it is like new and working perfectly! This definitely improved the functioning of the DAC that I was previously using. Happy to ship but would prefer pick up Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  7. Hi there! I was thinking about getting a subwoofer and using a miniDSP to integrate it into my system. I was just wondering how best to use it using an external dac. I’m just struggling to see how the signal is handled by the miniDSP. If I use the analog inputs, after a preamp, will it then convert it to digital, before applying EQ and filters, before using its internal DAC? Does this render any external DAC a waste of time? My concern is that this will ultimately bottleneck the system a bit, or at least undermine another DAC that may perform a bit better. Are there alternatives out there that avoid this (if it is the case)?
  8. That looks like a really interesting way to do it!
  9. I've heard rolling off the mains is a good idea so thats helpful! And its good to know there are people like Paul out there to help with that sort of stuff. What are the benefits or sealed subs vs ported (and the cons)?
  10. It sounds like SVS and Rel will be good places to start looking! Thanks everyone. And thanks so much for this advice! Some very helpful and detailed guides here that I'll make sure to use when I am setting my sub up
  11. Okay thank you! Thats really helpful. I'll make sure it has those controls and take your advice with the rest of the setup. And I'm down in Sydney but appreciate the offer though!
  12. I would love your advice on this! I am looking to add a subwoofer to my stereo set up (I currently have some KEF R100s running from a Rotel A10 with a Modi 3). I would love some general advice for what to look for in a sub, good brands etc. I am also wondering how important things like using high level inputs are, as well as having the option to reduce the frequency going to the main speakers (either with the sub crossover directly or with something like a miniDSP)? Do these things make much of a difference? Are they worth spending the extra money? Would love any advice on this! Thanks so much
