  1. Gorgeous speaker. May I ask if they are used as front speakers for your HT too or those smaller wall mounted ones are the fronts?
  2. Further information: There are plenty positive reviews online. My little review: big sound stage with bright high and powerful bass. Easy to drive due to its high sensitivity. I used to pair them with onkyo a9130 (2x40w@8ohm), Sound was loud and clear without any distortion. Later I replaced the onkyo with a musical fidelity (150wpc) the sound became much fuller. So i would recommend a powerful amp. The double bass drivers can save you a sub-woofer when watching movies. Excellent condition. No damage on any drivers. The cabinet, plinths, spikes, grills and binding posts are all in mint condition. Selling due to upgrade. Pickup from Bella Vista. or deliver to Sydney metro for a small fee. Sorry no interstate shipping. Specifications 683 4-driver, 3-way vented-box speaker Drivers: 1" aluminum dome tweeter, 6" woven Kevlar cone FST midrange, 2 x 6.5" aluminum/paper/Kevlar cone bass Frequency range: -6dB at 30Hz and 50kHz Frequency response: 38Hz-22kHz +/-3dB on reference axis Harmonic distortion: 2nd and 3rd harmonics (90dB, 1 meter) <1% 90Hz-20kHz; <0.5% 120Hz-20kHz Nominal impedance: 8Ω (minimum 3Ω) Crossover frequencies: 350Hz, 4kHz Recommended amplifier power: 25W-200W into 8Ω, unclipped Sensitivity: 90dB (2.83V, 1 meter) Dimensions: 38.8" x 7.8" x 13.4" (HxWxD) Weight: 57.3 lbs
  3. I have a pair of these too. Impressive sound stage. The bass drivers save you a subwoofer.
  4. Thanks for the explanation. Should have read all the comments first
  5. Looking forward to seeing more Gieseler products Many of us listen to streaming source such as Tidal, would be great to have MQA render build-in. Cheers
  6. Item: WTB: Gieseler Klein DAC III 3 USB Price Range: Any Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: I am in Sydney. Can pick up or arrange postage interstate
  7. Hi I have a fx audio DAC sq5. $100 post to you.
  8. Hey guys, just got myself a pair of 502s. First impression is the superb build quality for the price. Kudos for something made in China. hooked them up to my musical fidelity A3.5. They sound quite different from my existing B&W 683s. the 502s is more subtle, balanced and defined while the 683 now sounds more "rendered" with brighter high and deeper bass. That's just 3 hours of listening though. haven't tried bi-wired yet.
  9. For everyone who enquired about postage: I don't have the original packaging so sorry can't post interstate.
  10. Further information: Sweet sounding speakers, a search on google will yield tons of positive reviews. Impressive mid-range especially for vocal. rated 150W Max but they are very easy to drive. My Onkyo 9130 integrated amp (40W RMS 130W dynamic @8ohm) effortlessly drives them without any distortion at 40% volume. Upon close inspection I found a small tear on the rubber rim of one kevlar driver. Never notice any acoustic compromise though. Will include 8 pairs of shock absorption custom spike feet with base (preinstalled). some reviews (the first 2 results on google) https://www.goodgearguide.com.au/review/bowers_wilkins/dm603_s3/219246/ http://www.audioreview.com/product/speakers/floorstanding-speakers/b-and-w/dm603-s3.html
  11. I have been eyeing for the Musical Fidelity for a while until I saw the internal. it's claimed to be dual mono but so empty.. only one transformer. don't even have any heatsink. (M6SI)
  12. The point of having a preamp instead of integrated amp is to avoid the signal interference from the power amp section (a huge transformer). So unless you can cut off the power amp section from your integrated amp, it would defeat the purpose of having a separate preamp. Also the class AB integrated amp will be in a "constant on" state that consumes power all the time. The only scenario i can think of is you want to save money on purchasing a preamp.
